The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss-Chapter 295: Chance
Chapter 295: Chance
"We’ve arrived," I say to the Live stream with a smile as I begin to spread out dragons to go after the targets. In total, there are 49 people, since not everyone had both parents alive, and there are the siblings who obviously only have 2 parents.
The location where I am is the school, and I can already see students looking out the window. It seems some smart alecks were on their phones watching the live stream.
"Unfortunately, I don’t have time to play with the humans in this school...so..." I snap my fingers, and a single shadow resembling a spider emerges. It is quite large, focused on speed.
It rushes towards the school with a single objective: to kill all the students and teachers as quickly as possible, while I simply walk into the school enthusiastically.
’I see that important people are joining the live stream and want to communicate with me.’ Who would have thought that people of such high levels would want to have a "peaceful communication" with me.
Entering the school, the screams are easily audible on the live stream as I find blood on the floor, but no bodies, because the spider is piling them in the basement.
"Hmm uhmm hmmm," I hum as I walk through the hallways, feeling the presence of the students who think that hiding is the best choice, but the true best choice would be to run outside, as the spider is limited to the environment within the school.
Not that outside is safe, as many other shadows are hunting the humans in the area.
’It’s funny how they’re trying everything to hack or disable the live stream.’ There’s no way hackers can take down this live stream that’s been operating after being altered with magic.
As I walk through the hallway, I end up reaching the cafeteria, the only untouched location by the spider, and I see some students and the "lunch lady," a person I can truly judge as good.
She has a kitchen knife and a serious expression, as if she’s waiting to defend the students.
"Hello, everyone, it seems you’ve gathered here, perhaps because you think this place is good for defending?" I question while looking at the frightened students.
"Why are you doing this, and what are you?" the lunch lady asks seriously with a courage that really surprises me.
"Well, I can give you that answer with a smile. I am a goddess, and the reason I’m doing this is because humanity is too filthy and deserves a divine punishment, and I’m applying that punishment."
"But it’s not like I’m going to exterminate all of humanity. I’m just going to kill billions of people and leave a part alive, and you, who are trying to defend these students, have been given the chance to get out alive."
I would let her live even if she were just hiding like a coward.
"I judge you as a good person, and ironically, courageous. Not many would try to speak with a being like me," I say to her as she still holds the knife pointed at me.
"Haaa," I just sigh.
"Do you think a kitchen knife can hurt me?" I approach her, noticing the slight trembling of her hand. I grab her hand with my tail and force the movement, so that when the knife hits me, it breaks.
"Happy? You won’t be able to defend these students with a simple knife. How about this?" I create a blade, a black and red dagger covered in my mana, and hand it to her.
"This little dagger can pierce my body," I take a few steps back.
"But I ask you, you who have seen the evil of many of these students, do you really think it’s worth sacrificing the immunity I’m giving you just to try to save these students?" I ask her seriously to see her response. freeweɓnovel-cøm
The students become even more frightened as the spider passes by the outside, carrying some bodies and staining the floor.
"I... I think everyone makes mistakes and everyone deserves a second chance. If you’re a goddess, can’t you forgive the humans?" She questions hesitantly.
"No," I respond with a cold no.
"Humans don’t learn unless they suffer first. They deserve this, and it won’t be a mere human who will make me change my mind. Besides, what you said is totally stupid."
"Just because I’m a goddess doesn’t mean I should forgive other beings. You don’t even know what I’m a goddess of. What if I’m a goddess of death? What if I’m a goddess of destruction?"
"Have you ever thought that I’m just fulfilling my duty as a goddess? I’m judging those I believe deserve judgment and sparing those I believe deserve to be spared."
"..." She hesitates even more, but one of the students runs up to her, grabs the dagger, and runs towards me, stabbing it into my heart. I didn’t even bother to dodge.
"Did you expect to achieve something with that?" I question while exploding the boy’s head with my tail, increasing the fear. I remove the dagger from my heart without much reaction and regenerate, repairing my dress.
"Fool, I never said that dagger could kill me." They confused my words. Just because something can hurt someone doesn’t necessarily mean it can kill them.
I break the dagger while generating a large shadow wolf. I also generate a shadow bird and send it into the "lunch lady’s" shadow. This shadow will ensure that other shadows don’t attack her.
"Go kill," I say as the wolf attacks the students, everything in front of the Live stream. It brutally dismembers the students as the lunch lady falls to her knees.
"I hope you enjoy your second chance well. Many did not receive the same honor," I say, leaving her there as I walk out of the cafeteria.
I look at the chat, where many curses and insults are happening, calling me a demon, but I honestly don’t care. I had already imagined receiving only hatred, after all, I’m killing people and enjoying it.
’They seem to have arrived.’ The shadows I sent appear to have reached their targets, and that’s great.
"This account... hahaha, it seems someone important wants to talk to me." I look with irony, seeing the Japanese Prime Minister’s account in the live stream. I temporarily block the rest of the chat, leaving only this important figure to speak.
"So, what does an important figure like you want with me?" I ask with a smile, sitting on the school window to observe the sky.
’They’re trying to surround the place and failing.’ The shadows are attacking everything in the area, whether on the ground or in the sky. They’re trying to come, but they’re always attacked by shadow monsters.
"We would like to try negotiating," the message in the chat says.
"Seriously? Negotiate with a murderer who is committing mass genocide? Wouldn’t that look bad for your image? Shouldn’t you be trying to kill me?" I question.
"..."
"We can resolve this peacefully," he writes in the Live chat, but to me, it seems more like he knows he has no chances.
"And what means would you have to appease the wrath of a goddess when you don’t even know why she’s angry? I’ll let you know that I hate it when they try to offer me things like money. For what the hell would I need money or fame?" I say mockingly.
"Is there anything you desire?" He asks.
"Besides continuing to kill, I don’t believe I want anything. Anyway, I’ll be leaving this world as soon as I’m done with this here," I don’t need anything they can offer.
"Could you say the reason for your anger? Perhaps we can think of a fairer agreement," he writes in the chat, still trying to get something.
"I’m very angry with humans, my hatred is immense. You are filthy vermin who need to learn your proper place. Of course, praying to other gods won’t help."
"If another god really comes to try to stop me, I wouldn’t mind killing them, but back to the matter that really matters, why don’t you just hide?"
"I won’t be chasing the cockroaches that go to the basement. I’ll just send my dear shadows to kill everything they find, so with some luck, you’ll come out alive."
My real focus are the parents of the heroes, and I don’t care that much about the rest, so if they stay well hidden, they can survive.
"...Are you sure we can’t reach an agreement?" He sends this message as if I would be afraid of something.
"Yes, I’m absolutely sure. Human weapons could never hurt me, whether it’s nuclear bombs, the highest level of radiation, or even other types of weapons like hydrogen bombs."
"Nothing will even hurt me. In fact, I’d love for you to attack me with those things, because that would only get in your way."
"My targets are humans. As you can see, I haven’t attacked animals or plants, and I’m not actively destroying the environment. If you attack me with those weapons, you’ll only be ruining the very planet you live on."
"After all, if I wanted to just destroy everything and end this planet, it would be extremely easy." With my current strength, I can literally destroy the entire world with a single blow.
"Besides, I’m not open to negotiations, so just watch quietly and don’t interfere, unless you want to become a target of a shadow."
I reactivate the chat for everyone, no longer interested in this conversation.
"And look, spectators, it seems the targets for torture have arrived now."
A shadow dragon has gathered all the parents of the heroes on the school rooftop.
Humans are stubborn and will probably continue trying to attack me, but that doesn’t matter. Confidently, I walk to the school rooftop where the parents of the heroes are.
