The Clan Master Can't possibly Be A Mortal-Chapter 1068: Warm-hearted Ye Feng
"Careful!"
Ye Feng dashed over with swift steps, supporting Yu Jie and guiding her onto the ridge.
"Woof, woof, woof!"
The Big Yellow Dog immediately ran over, circling Yu Jie while the Wild Boar, Giant Bear, and King Cobra, among other animals, also rushed over, their eyes revealing a look of concern.
"What’s wrong with you?"
Ye Feng touched Yu Jie’s forehead with his hand and felt it was very cool to the touch, but because he couldn’t see her face, he didn’t know what her expression was like.
"My stomach really hurts!"
Yu Jie clutched her stomach, her voice weak.
"Stomach pain? Did you eat something unclean? But that’s not right! Almost everything in the valley is taken care of by Yu Jie. Eating it should prolong life; there can’t possibly be a problem!"
Ye Feng was filled with confusion.
The next moment.
He noticed that Yu Jie’s snow-white dress had been stained red. His facial expression froze, then, he suddenly understood.
"Ah! I’m actually bleeding! Am I going to die?" Yu Jie also noticed the bloodstain on her dress and was greatly alarmed, crying out in a hurry.
"Don’t panic, I know what the reason is!"
Ye Feng scooped Yu Jie up in a princess hold and ran toward the small courtyard on higher ground along the ridge.
Being held by Ye Feng, Yu Jie’s whole body was burning up.
She felt she was terribly embarrassing.
On the wooden house’s bed.
Ye Feng boiled water, wet a towel with it, and placed it on Yu Jie’s forehead, and then he brewed a bowl of brown sugar water for her.
"Here, open your mouth and drink this."
"What is this?"
"Brown sugar water."
"Why do I need to drink this? Hey! Warm brown sugar water is really delicious! Give me two more bowls, no! I want to drink three bowls!"
Yu Jie quickly changed her mind.
Under Ye Feng’s watchful eye, she drank three bowls of brown sugar water and then continued to lie on the bed. The pretty face beneath the haze seemed to have taken on a bit of a rosy glow.
"I feel much better now."
Yu Jie rubbed her stomach.
But it wasn’t long before she began to worry again:
"Big Brother Ye Feng, do you know what’s wrong with me? Why am I like this, even bleeding... I’m not going to die, am I? I don’t want to die just like that!"
With that, she started crying.
"It’s okay, this is a unique situation for you women. From now on, you’ll experience it once a month, and it will last for several days each time," Ye Feng explained.
"Ah?" Yu Jie was immediately shocked.
Bleeding every month, lasting several days each time?
Wouldn’t that lead to death?
Yu Jie’s face turned even paler, and her body shivered, fearing that she might pass away just like that.
Ye Feng gave her a reassuring smile and said:
"This is not a big deal. Every woman will go through this, and so will you. If you don’t believe me, you can ask the women you know, like the aunties in the village."
"Also, when you encounter this situation in the future, you must take even more care of your body, drink more brown sugar water, and rest early."
"For the next few days, you should just lie down and rest."
"I can harvest the rice in the field by myself."
Ye Feng thought of something, "I’ll go heat some water for you, remember to take a bath later."
After saying that, he covered Yu Jie with the blanket.
"Mhm, I’ll listen to you." Yu Jie obediently nodded her head, her eyes reflecting Ye Feng’s handsome face, her mood gradually improving as she closed her eyes and fell into a deep sleep.
"Sleep well."
Ye Feng left the wooden house.
In the yard.
The Giant Bear, Big Yellow Dog, Wild Boar, King Cobra, and other animals gathered there, all peeking into the room.
"She is fine and will recover in a few days," Ye Feng said.
But the animals, such as the Big Yellow Dog, still looked longing, guarding the yard, fearful that Yu Jie might leave them.
In the bathhouse.
Ye Feng was heating up water, glanced in the direction of Yu Jie’s bedroom, shook his head, and said: "It turns out that Yu Jie is still very young, a naïve young girl just entering puberty."
While taking care of Yu Jie, he felt like he had become a big brother who could support heaven and earth.
His mindset had changed once more.
Several days later.
Yu Jie finally recovered and, wearing a long black dress, she ran across the grassland with her kite string in hand.
Ye Feng came along carrying a hoe and, seeing this scene, he curiously asked, "Why aren’t you wearing a white dress?"
Yu Jie’s face turned red, and she stammered,
"I... I’m afraid I might bleed again, so I just decided to wear a black dress, which wouldn’t show as much."
Ye Feng immediately laughed.
He rubbed Yu Jie’s head with his hand and said, "Silly girl, wait a moment, I’ll bring you a gift in a few days."
"A gift?" Yu Jie instantly became excited.
Under the night sky.
While Yu Jie slept soundly, Ye Feng was still up cultivating in his room, the table piled with various scarves and fluffy cotton, all boiled in hot water and sun-dried, very hygienic.
The table was also scattered with more than a dozen design drawings.
On them was something resembling a "cross," a secret treasure from Ye Feng’s memory—the sanitary pad!
"Finally got the design drawing done!"
After a long while, Ye Feng looked at the final drawing and a satisfied expression appeared in his eyes.
"Next up, time to start making them!"
"By Time, there’s only a little over half a month until Yu Jie’s next period. I’ve got to prepare enough supplies early."
Speaking to himself, Ye Feng put on a scarf as gloves and started cutting and sewing according to the measurements on the design drawings.
That entire night, Ye Feng didn’t sleep.
He had planned to, but then he thought that staying up all night could lead to sudden death, so he might as well just pull an all-nighter.
The next day.
Yu Jie woke up early.
Seeing Ye Feng’s door ajar, with a kerosene lamp still lit inside, she peeked through the crack, only to see Ye Feng leaning on the table, looking like he had fallen asleep.
As for the table, it was piled with various items.
Needles, cotton, scarves.
And the "cross" shaped items, but with very short ends, looking quite odd.
"What is this?"
Yu Jie casually picked up a finished sanitary pad, looking it over from all angles, clearly not understanding what this thing was called, its purpose, and couldn’t help putting it against her body to compare.
"Is this a towel for washing one’s face?"
"Or a rag?"
"Perhaps it’s for scrubbing dishes or pots?"
"It can’t possibly be a hat or a veil, right?"
Yu Jie fiddled with the sanitary pad, and seeing Ye Feng seemed to be waking up, she quickly put the thing down and sneakily ran out.
Several days later.
With heavy dark circles under his eyes, Ye Feng handed a wooden box to Yu Jie and said, "Here’s your gift."
"Ah! It really is that thing!"
Seeing a box full of handmade sanitary pads, Yu Jie covered her mouth with her hands in surprise.
At her reaction, the corner of Ye Feng’s mouth twitched.
It seemed that Yu Jie, the little rascal, had actually sneaked into his room to peek.
"These are called sanitary pads," Ye Feng said.
"Brother Ye Feng, how do you use these?" Yu Jie took out a sanitary pad and put it on her head, "Are they meant to be hats?"
Seeing this, Ye Feng almost spit out his food.
"No!"
He shook his head quickly, then leaned close to Yu Jie’s ear, softly explained the usage method, and handed her an illustration and written instructions.
Looking at the contents, Yu Jie’s face instantly heated up.
"Stop teasing!"
Yu Jie ran off embarrassed.
But soon, she came back, hugged the box full of sanitary pads, and scurried into her room, refusing to come out for a long time. She was probably learning how to use them.
"Feeling shy using this for the first time is quite normal."
Ye Feng coughed, hoisted his hoe on his shoulder, and continued to labor in the fields, growing ever more serene, and experiencing the leisurely feeling of ancient pastoral poets.
"Pick chrysanthemums beneath the eastern fence, leisurely views of the distant southern hills!"
Gazing at the rising Sun, Ye Feng thus spoke.
At that moment.
He had a peculiar feeling.
His hands seemed to pulse with warmth, as if a mighty force was cocooning inside, soon to break free and emerge as a butterfly!
