Chapter 113: Chapter 113: A Resounding Slap to the Face

Cara Preston said with a gentle expression, "Isn’t this a little... inappropriate?"

"What’s inappropriate about it!" Elise Langdon huffed. "Vera Xavier brought this on herself, so she can’t blame us. It’s her own fault for being so devious, always thinking about how to cheat. I want to see how she’s going to handle this!"

In truth, there was no real grudge between Elise Langdon and Vera Xavier. Cara Preston had simply instigated things between them, which was why Elise detested Vera.

Cara Preston, however, was feeling quite smug. After the way Nathaniel Nathan had treated her that morning, she would never blame him. Therefore, she could only pin all the blame on Vera Xavier.

’In my opinion,’ she thought, ’if it weren’t for Vera’s meddling, there’s no way Nathaniel would have treated me like that! Not with my track record of being loved by everyone I meet!’

’So this time, I’m going to watch Vera get utterly humiliated, branded a cheater, and kicked out of this school for good!’

’That way, I can stand before Nathaniel, completely justified, and tell him all about Vera’s cheating!’

This exam was unlike any before it. There were no printed test papers; all the questions were created on the spot by Juliana Taylor.

Juliana Taylor also wanted to see Vera Xavier’s true abilities, so she didn’t hold back when writing the questions. The problems spanned everything from classical Chinese to poetry. While not exceeding the curriculum, they were exceptionally difficult.

Juliana Taylor had barely finished stating a question before Vera Xavier provided the answer, and every single one was correct!

Her answering speed blew everyone else in the class out of the water!

Even Shane Caldwell and Shirley Forrest weren’t as fast or as accurate as she was!

Furthermore, Vera Xavier was taking the test under the watchful eyes of the entire class. When she moved her desk to the front, she didn’t bring a single book—only a blank answer booklet and a fountain pen.

Juliana Taylor looked at Vera Xavier’s answers with a gratified smile. She swept her gaze across the class, her eyes finally landing on Elise Langdon. "With results like these," she said, "does any other student still have an objection?"

Even Elise Langdon, who had been determined to find fault, was rendered speechless.

The subsequent subjects went the same way. Vera Xavier was the fastest in the class to finish, and she also had the highest accuracy rate.

The teachers for the other subjects grew more and more impressed with Vera Xavier the longer they watched!

By the end, the expressions on Elise Langdon’s and Cara Preston’s faces were as black as the bottom of a pot.

Elise Langdon murmured, "How could this be? How could this be?"

Cara Preston was also in utter disbelief. She had assumed Vera Xavier was guaranteed to make a fool of herself this time. She never expected Vera to steal the show instead, using this incident to prove her absolute skill before the entire class and all the teachers.

Any teachers or students who had harbored lingering doubts about Vera Xavier’s grades now had those doubts completely erased. Even Shane Caldwell’s eyes were filled with astonishment and admiration as he looked at her.

After the final exam, Chemistry, was over, Vera Xavier’s desk was moved back to its place.

Although Elise Langdon was used to running roughshod over everyone at school and had long since developed a thick skin, right now she couldn’t help but feel her face burn with shame. She looked for an opportunity to just slip away.

But Vera Xavier wasn’t about to give her that chance. She called out to her directly, "Elise Langdon, you can go fulfill your promise now. Time to prepare the sign."

Elise Langdon’s expression turned utterly foul. Cara Preston immediately stood up and said, "Vera, how can you be like this!"
