Chapter 499: spark a romance

"Who are they? They’re amazing..."

So incredibly brave!

Wushuang and Guimian stood on the small boat, wielding machine guns and sweeping through the enemy lines. The Philippine coast guard had virtually no chance to retaliate. The two moved with unparalleled ease, quickly boarding the boat.

Two top international assassins dealing with a dozen coast guards was a piece of cake; there was no suspense whatsoever.

Several fallen coast guards got up and savagely attacked, throwing punches. Wushuang sneered, tossing aside her machine gun, "I’ll make sure you die with some dignity."

After a few rounds of hand-to-hand combat, she and Guimian had thrown them all into the sea.

Old Zhang and the others shouted, clapping, and cheering. Wushuang told them to leave quickly; there was more than one coast guard vessel, and the gunfight would soon attract another group. Old Zhang and the others told Wushuang they were safe and sailed back.

Ghost Face steered the boat towards the nearest Philippine coast. Wu Shuang loaded her sniper rifle with explosive rounds, cocked it, and held it imposingly, intending to bombard them one by one. The sea breeze ruffled her long hair; she wore a short-sleeved shirt and hot pants, looking sexy and alluring.

Ghost Face shook his head and smiled, then suddenly his expression turned serious. "Three ships are approaching from 11 o’clock and 3 o’clock."

"Roger!" Wu Shuang smiled coldly, aimed at the 3 o’clock direction, and Ghost Face steered the boat at full speed. As soon as the boat entered firing range, Wu Shuang fired two shots in quick succession, capsizing both ships and sending coast guards crashing into the sea.

Sparks flew across the surface, and the violent explosions sent sprays of water dozens of meters high.

Shipwrecks scattered across the water.

The coast guards at 11 o’clock opened fire on them, bullets shattering the windshield at the bow. Ghost Face’s course immediately went out of control, heading straight for them. Wu Shuang smiled coldly, steadied herself, adjusted the angle of her sniper rifle, and fired another shot.

Another ship was wrecked, its wreckage burning on the sea. Wushuang sneered at the coast guards lying in the water, letting them taste the bitterness of defeat. Guimian took the helm again. Midway, the maritime patrol control center sent a message asking if they had wiped out the fishermen. Just as Wushuang and Guimian opened fire, the ship’s captain had called for help from the command center. Their sidearms were pistols; Wushuang suddenly raised a sniper rifle and a machine gun, startling them. Fishermen wouldn’t normally carry such weapons.

Guimian replied, "All wiped out, heading back."

He then created the illusion of a bad signal. The two exchanged a smile. To prevent any more ships from approaching, Wushuang only packed their suitcases when they were almost ashore. As they disembarked, Guimian threw a small bomb on the ship. As soon as they reached the shore, the ship exploded, sparks flying everywhere, startling nearby fishermen who rushed out to investigate. Wushuang and Guimian, carrying their suitcases, didn’t look back, smashed a car window, pulled the fuse, started the engine, and drove away from the coast.

Clean, efficient,

and perfectly in sync.

News of the incident involving the Philippine Coast Guard spread quickly. Security at several Philippine ports tripled. Wu Shuang and Ghost Face attacked the Coast Guard, causing no deaths, only bombing a few ships and seriously injuring several people. However, this was a very serious crime, and someone had seen their true faces, creating a computer-generated image for a city-wide manhunt. Images were posted at airports, train stations, and bus stations.

Wu Shuang wore blue contact lenses, and due to the darkness and her rapid firing, the image wasn’t very accurate. Ghost Face’s half-mask, however, was quite conspicuous. Once in the city, Wu Shuang changed her face and contact lenses, and Ghost Face also changed his face. The two traveled without difficulty, arriving in Manila without any problems.

They checked into one of Manila’s best five-star hotels. After days of travel and lack of sleep, Wu Shuang felt she needed to catch up. She was basically indifferent to the Coast Guard incident.

If the Philippine police could catch her, she wouldn’t need to be in the underworld anymore.

The person Ghost Face wanted to kill was currently in Manila. He planned to strike in public; the target would be attending a ribbon-cutting ceremony in a few days, making it the perfect opportunity. She noticed Ghost Face had a peculiar assassin’s method: he preferred to act in crowded places, completely different from her.

She preferred secluded locations, but this was Ghost Face’s personal grudge, and she wouldn’t interfere. After

a comfortable few hours of sleep, she woke up in the middle of the night. Wu Shuang took her laptop to the bathroom for a hot bath, comfortably handling the mafia’s thorny issues online while soaking. She usually issued orders and listened to reports; she rarely had to personally intervene.

After checking emails for a while, she returned to bed with her laptop, ordered room service (she didn’t like main dishes, so she ordered some dried fruit and fresh fruit), and then comfortably lay down to chat with Mo Xiaobai.

They were all in a game.

Ye Feimo, Mo Xiaobai, Mo Yao, Mo Chen, Kaka, Chu Nanfeng, and Bruno were all in the game. Wushuang was immediately surrounded as soon as she logged in. Mo Xiaobai asked, "Sis, you were the one who did that Philippine Coast Guard thing, weren’t you? Why did you go and provoke them?"

"I was happy!" Wushuang ate cashews, typing while stopping to peel a mango, quite content.

"You’re happy? Going to provoke the police while in the Philippines? Be careful you don’t get chased all over the streets," Mo Chen said.

Wushuang clicked her tongue. Kaka asked, "When are you going back to Rome?"

Wushuang replied, "I’ll leave after the Ghost Face thing is settled."

She spoke to Kaka as usual, her tone unchanged. Being on screen made it less tiring; no matter your expression, typing was a different story. Wushuang was very grateful.

Bruno said, "Kaka, you should have acted faster! Wushuang snatched him away. If we had someone as talented as Ghost Face, wow, that would be so impressive!"

Mo Xiaobai immediately retorted, "Ghost Face only joined the Mafia because he’s after my sister. Kaka, that fox, has no charm in his eyes. You can save your trouble."

Wushuang muttered from the side, "Nonsense, Xiaobai always talks nonsense. Ghost Face is very devoted to his fiancée, extremely infatuated."

Sometimes people are lonely and need companions.

The people in the Mafia could be her companions.

Kaka said, "Why did you provoke the Philippine Coast Guard? You were going to make your move in Manila; provoking the police wasn’t a wise decision."

Wushuang recounted the events briefly. She was already being lenient by not retaliating and killing them; letting them soak in the sea for several hours was already merciful.

Ye Feimo asked, "Did you and Ghost Face spark a romance?"
