The CEO's Paranoid and Spoiled Wife-Chapter 852 - 849: Taking Care
Chapter 852: Chapter 849: Taking Care
"Mm." Ji Muran responded, but still felt a pain in her throat, unable to help but furrow her brows again.
Seeing this, Shen Wenzhou didn’t say much and quietly got up to pour some water.
He carefully poured a cup of warm water, placed it on the bedside table, and then helped Ji Muran, who was still lying in the hospital bed, to sit up.
At this moment, Ji Muran felt a bit lighter, but still weak. When Shen Wenzhou helped her, she leaned entirely on him.
Once she was propped up, Shen Wenzhou handed the cup to Ji Muran and let her drink.
Ji Muran was so thirsty that she finished the whole cup in one go.
"Do you want more?" Shen Wenzhou asked calmly.
Ji Muran looked up at him slightly, feeling a bit embarrassed but still nodded; she was still very thirsty.
So Shen Wenzhou went to pour more water. Ji Muran’s gaze followed his back, observing his patient care.
Perhaps because she was ill and feeling particularly vulnerable, Ji Muran felt her eyes grow warm. She sniffled and tried hard to control her emotions.
Shen Wenzhou came back with more water. This time, Ji Muran drank only half the cup before stopping. Though still thirsty, she felt she couldn’t drink any more.
"Your fever has subsided. How do you feel now? Are you dizzy or anything?" Shen Wenzhou asked.
Ji Muran shook her head, "I’m not dizzy anymore, just that my throat still hurts a bit." ƒree𝑤ebnσvel-com
In fact, she still felt extremely tired, as if she hadn’t rested properly in a long time, but she was too shy to say it.
Shen Wenzhou nodded, "The doctor prescribed medication to be taken after meals. It’s already past six in the evening. Are you hungry? What would you like to eat?"
Just as Shen Wenzhou finished speaking, before Ji Muran could say whether she was hungry, her stomach growled, answering his question for her.
"Heh." Shen Wenzhou chuckled softly, "You’ve just recovered from a fever, so you should eat something light. I’ll order some congee for you."
Ji Muran felt a bit embarrassed, but when she glanced shyly at Shen Wenzhou, she realized his smile was very charming. Although he was teasing her, she found herself slightly mesmerized.
"You can choose the type of congee, though. What flavor would you like?" Shen Wenzhou asked as he took out his phone to make the call.
Ji Muran’s heart pounded. She pretended to be calm as she said, "Pork congee."
"Okay." Shen Wenzhou responded and dialed the number.
While making the call, Shen Wenzhou walked to the window. Ji Muran’s gaze followed him closely.
Because they were indoors and the heating was on, Shen Wenzhou had taken off his jacket. At the moment, he was wearing a white shirt, tucked into his dress pants.
His sleeves were slightly rolled up, and his well-defined fingers loosely held the phone. His voice, while speaking, was clear and cool, devoid of arrogance.
Ji Muran couldn’t help but become entranced while watching him. Her slender, delicate hand rested on the blanket, unknowingly clenching tightly, as if making some kind of resolution.
After making the call, Shen Wenzhou came over, "The doctor said it’s best to observe you overnight. If you don’t have a fever tonight, you can be discharged tomorrow morning."
"Okay." Ji Muran nodded.
Shen Wenzhou nodded as well, and then the two fell silent, seemingly having nothing much to talk about.
