"It's fine!!! We are fine for now!!"

Kian spoke, pulling his hands back to himself and inside his pockets.

"We all say that...that we are fine but in reality, we are far from it...for a woman who has gone through it all, I can't imagine what you and especially your wife must have gone through."

The woman elaborated, sympathising with him. He did not want to seem weak in front of the unknown stranger but he could not bring it in himself to act otherwise.

"But with time, it gets better. I m a survivor so is my husband and we have come to experience this wonderful news. It makes all the pain, wait and grief that we went through together, worth it!!"

Kian found himself drowning in her words. It made sense to him. If not all. , he got some of it.

"Give her time and give yourself some time too. Heal first! And then the nature will it takes it course!"

The woman concluded. He nodded and thanked her for her advice. They had a few talks and then he was left alone once again.

He sighed and took to drinking. He had no idea where his wife was or who she was with. He thought to give her some time alone.

"I see jamming all alone?"

Kian looked to his left and saw Nathan, leaning on the bar, smirking at him.

Kian rolled his eyes, getting annoyed. He was the last person he wanted to see at the moment.

"Where is your beautiful wife?"

That made Kian turn his head to look at him with extreme fury and rage. The mention of his very wife made him very angry.

But for the sake of his wife, he controlled his anger and tried to remain calm. He did not want to create a scene and embarrass her anymore.

"Why are you here??"

Kian questioned, gritting his teeth. Nathan chuckled at him.

"It's my uncle's and aunt's fundraising event! Of course, I will be here."

Nathan replied, sipping on his whisky. Kian rolled his eyes and looked away.

He thought of excusing himself from here and go find him wife. It had been a while and he had no idea where she was.

And as if Tinsley had heard him thinking about her, she came up front and called out for her husband.

"Kian??"

He turned around to find his wife, standing a few meters away, smiling at him.

Nathan too saw her and it was the last thing Kian wanted at that moment. That bastard and his wife under the same roof!

"Hey, Tinsley??"

Tinsley did not see Nathan at all, there, right beside her husband. He was the last person, she thought of her husband hanging with.

"Hello?"

She stuttered, not knowing exactly how to greet him not making Kian think that something was wrong.

Over the few months that she had been married to him, she had come to know that he was the kind of man who was very possessive and egotistical.

And it was in these moments, she feared. She had seen how he turned on to almost kill Nathan only because he saw her and him talking.

Nathan saw it...saw how nervous and anxious she was. It was then and there, the thought came to his mind and it was sudden that what if Kian was treating her the same as Josh was doing?

Tinsley looked in Kian's direction before greeting him, nervously as if her husband would not approve of it.

All of these compelled him to think otherwise. He knew or at least was aware of the kind of man Kian Randall was...controlling and dominating.

"Are you alright??"

It was a question that came out of him in seconds. He did not think it through while asking that to her.

"Why will I not be??"

Tinsley retorted back, softly smiling at him. At the same time, stealing glances at Kian to check if he was alright with it.

She did not want to aggravate him. It was the last thing she wanted at the time. And she very well knew that things would not turn out to be good if the fight broke out.

The next question slipped out of Nathan's even before he could think it through.

"Is he treating you well??"

The question made Tinsley shocked and raised her eyebrows at him, totally not believing that he was asking her such a thing.

Kian stepped in between, concealing Tinsley's figure from Nathan's eyes. How dare the bastard think that he was treating his wife like shit??

How dare he!!!

And even if he did, she was his wife. He had every right to deal with her however the way he liked...nobody could say anything to him.

"Excuse me?"

Kian spoke up before Tinsley could. She was static in her position, not knowing what to do.

She did not want to pull her husband out from there either because it would make society think it otherwise and she very well knew that Kian would not like it either.

"You heard me. And it was directed to Tinsley."

Nathan said, tilting his head a little to view Tinsley who was standing there like a scared cat.

"My wife, you mean?" 𝗳𝒓eℯ𝘄𝘦𝚋𝙣o𝚟𝗲Ɩ. 𝑐𝒐𝘮

Kian smirked. Nathan chuckled. He knew how to aggregate this man. And he liked it to make Tinsley see that she was so much more than him.

"Yes, your wife! Are you treating her right?? And no, I do not need your opinion, I want to know it from her."

Nathan elaborated. Kian narrowed his eyes and voiced out.

"I speak for my wife!"

"She has her own voice, man! "

Nathan countered back. Tinsley was watching to and fro. The conversation was getting heated second by second.

"She has no problem for me to speak on her behalf!"

Kian asserted and Nathan crossed cut him.

"And is that alright with you, Tinsley?"

Tinsley did not answer him right away. She was frozen in her mindset and the question took her off-guard.

Kian was eyeing her expectantly that she would agree with him but when she took time, he was feeling insecure.

"She of course does not share the same opinion as you!"

Nathan mocked and in the corner of her eyes, Kian moved forward, as if going to hit him off.

"However the hell, I treat her...she is my wife, she is fucking mine and I can treat her, however, the hell I want! "

"And you can't even do a thing about it!"

Kian spat. Tinsley rushed between the two and stopped Kian from speaking out more.

"I will...I will do the same what you did to Josh!"

Nathan said and it got Kian more furious. Before he could do something more, Tinsley stepped in.

"Stop!!"

She whispered to Kian, peeking right through his eyes. He looked at her and compelled himself not to fight him going against her.

When Kian stopped, she turned back to face Nathan. She stood up for her husband.

"My husband loves me! And however, he treats me?? It's none of your business!"

"I did not intend to call you out, Tinsley."

Nathan defended himself. Kian was proud of how she was standing up for him. Even lying the part of it.

"I m not done, Nathan Anderson and just to remind you, I can stand up for myself very goddamn well!"

She interrupted him in the halfway and then caught hold of Kian's hand and walked away from there.

Kian let his wife take him away as he tilted his head back a little and smirked at Nathan, standing there with shock.

"That is only left of you to hide behind your wife's skirt now, Kian Randall!"

Nathan screamed it out. Not everyone heard it though due to the noisy environment but Kian did and so did Tinsley.

She tried to pull Kian away but he stopped and got stuck. Her heart was beating very fast as she knew that the hell would break loose at any moment if she could not take him out of here.

Nathan laughed out loud, knowing very well that he did it. Did it once again! He had gotten the attention of Kian's fury.

"Let's go, Kian! Please!"

Tinsley whispered to him, with pleading eyes, not wanting to go through it.

"He is not worth it! Let's go, please! I beg you!"

Kian's ears had turned deaf at that moment to his wife's ears. Tinsley held tightly onto his wrist, trying to pull him away but he was unmoving, glaring at Nathan who was smirking at him, igniting the fire.

Kian was barely controlling himself and not strode up to that bastard and knick his teeth out.

"Please, let's go, Kian!!! There are people watching us!"

She squeezed his hand, feeling the eyes of people nearby on them...on her and on him.

But it was the last stroke and Kian pulled his hand out of her hold and stormed towards Nathan to land a punch.
