The Celibate Tycoon Has Fallen-Chapter 97: She Was Nothing but a Trophy
She called out, but the rest of her words got stuck in her throat.
That scene must have been shocking and heartbreaking for Jasper Yale. He cherished Miss Alden and couldn’t wait another moment.
Yelena Hughes listened to the pounding on the door, and Shawn Thorne continued.
"Hailey Jenkins is already handling it; maybe in five minutes, it will be settled, perhaps... just one minute, and it’ll be done."
Jasper Yale gazed at Yelena Hughes; yes, with Hailey Jenkins taking care of things, he felt at ease.
But Nancy Alden was crawling on the ground, dragging her immobile legs, and she would soon enter the courtyard and be seen by others.
Jasper Yale almost without hesitation unlocked the door.
Yelena Hughes no longer had the courage to say even one more word.
She didn’t have the power to keep Jasper Yale in that room any longer.
The door was half opened, and as Shawn Thorne tried to walk in, Jasper Yale pushed him aside.
"Young Master," Shawn Thorne looked at him with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, "You finally came out."
Jasper Yale walked past him and said one word to Hailey Jenkins.
"Go."
No need to chase the people away.
He was in a hurry to leave.
But Yelena Hughes was still inside; when Shawn Thorne kicked the door open, he saw her quick silhouette moving inward.
"Dare to do such things, but too ashamed to come out, is it?"
His words were heavy, echoing in Jasper Yale’s ears a few steps away. The man’s legs paused, but he didn’t turn back.
Hailey Jenkins had already driven away half of the people, yet there were still some gathered at the door.
"Young Master, I should think of a way to get Miss Hughes out."
"Nancy is here, just at the door."
As Jasper Yale said this, he left.
Afraid of the group coming in, Yelena Hughes rushed to the window and hid behind the curtains.
Two men followed Shawn Thorne inside, with a lewd look on their faces, "Quite a spot you found, huh? Wonder if the woman inside is dressed or not?"
Shawn Thorne turned and pushed both of them out the door, "Get lost, all of you."
"Don’t be so stingy, Master Thorne. Enjoy the beauty together..."
Shawn Thorne kicked one straight down the corridor, "Get out."
He closed the door and locked it.
Yelena Hughes was easy to find behind the curtain; Shawn Thorne walked up and saw the lower part of her leg sticking out.
He stood by the window, looking outside, just like Yelena Hughes.
Jasper Yale moved quickly, like a fleeting shadow, the swaying tree shadows made him look fragmented.
Josephine cried in a low voice, not daring to shout. "Miss, don’t do this anymore, get up."
Nancy Alden pushed hard with her elbows on the ground, but her body only moved forward slightly.
Such a proud man as Jasper Yale, didn’t he still squat down for her?
"What are you doing?"
Jasper Yale picked her up from the ground, and Nancy Alden immediately wrapped her arms around his neck, "I thought you wouldn’t come out."
He effortlessly got up, and Nancy Alden’s white dress was all dirtied, so Josephine quickly took off her jacket to wrap her skirt.
"I said I’d be right back, can’t you wait even for a moment?"
Nancy Alden pressed her face to Jasper Yale, "I don’t want to wait, I’m scared, I’m afraid everything Shawn Thorne said is true."
This place was surely not one Jasper Yale could stay at longer; he carried Nancy Alden and bent down into the car.
Yelena Hughes saw Hailey Jenkins close the car door, and within seconds both cars one after the other drove off.
Shawn Thorne reached to pull open the curtain she was wrapped in, but Yelena Hughes clutched it tightly, his voice carried a hint of irritation, "Can’t show yourself?"
"Why doesn’t Master Thorne let everyone outside come in?"
Shawn Thorne couldn’t see Yelena Hughes’s face, only that she wrapped herself like a parcel.
"Do you want to see them? I can call them right now," Shawn leaned on the windowsill, hinting, "Or I could have your mother come over."
The curtain was whipped open, and Yelena Hughes stopped hiding. In heels, she was a bit unsteady and came to face Shawn Thorne.
"Was it related to you that day when my mother came to The Sovereign Club?"
Yelena Hughes’s skin was fair without a doubt, so any marks on her would stand out clearly.
Especially these long kiss marks from her neck to her shoulders, to her collarbones, and down to the deep V-neckline of her dress...
Shawn Thorne closed his eyes, easily imagining Jasper Yale’s passionate and confused state when his face was buried there.
His tightly pursed lips slightly parted, almost swept away by anger, "Yes, it was my arrangement. If you dare do something, you must admit it..."
"Despicable!"
Yelena Hughes scolded, her voice heavy, and her eyes were like hidden daggers.
"I’m despicable?" Shawn Thorne pointed out the window, "Why don’t you tell Jasper Yale that? Did he ever care about your life and death? Or your reputation? He left so freely, outside they respect, admire, and fear him! Who dares to whisper against him?"
"But... he left you with all these marks and just left, Yelena Hughes, you’re just a trophy!"
"You think Jasper Yale is irresistibly drawn to you, can’t let go of you? He did this to you in the room, left these marks on you, for whom to see? It’s for me to see!"
Yelena Hughes heard each word clearly.
She just didn’t understand why Shawn Thorne was so furious?
"I never had any illusions about him."
"What?"
"Irresistibly drawn, can’t let go?" Yelena Hughes laughed mockingly, "Using these adjectives on me, I find it amusing."
The one Jasper Yale can’t let go of is only Nancy Alden.
"Master Thorne, you’ve seen how much Nancy Alden means to Young Master Yale. When he left me here, he didn’t think about what I had to face, I didn’t even have clothes to cover myself."
Yelena Hughes looked mournfully out the window, "I’m already like this, yet someone still refuses to let me go. Like you, you even brought my mother to The Sovereign Club."
Her eyes reddened at the corners, "Are you trying to force me to die?"
With a thud in his heart, like a stone had been thrown into it, Shawn Thorne listened.
"To tell you the truth, this idea came from Nancy Alden herself, which is why I say, of all people to offend, why her?"
Yelena Hughes clutched her dress tightly, she had been trying to avoid her, but it clearly didn’t work.
The marks on her body were an eyesore to Shawn Thorne.
But when she walked out, Yelena Hughes was sure to attract many eyes.
He took off his suit jacket and draped it over Yelena Hughes’s shoulders, "Cover up; if you’re seen like this, do you believe those lechers won’t just fix you on the spot?"
When Shawn Thorne took her from there, Yelena Hughes kept her head down the whole time.
But rumors still reached her ears.
"Did you hear, just now that woman was flirting with Young Master Yale in the room."
"Really? No shame, is it? Young Master has Miss Alden by his side!"
"Climbing up with a body full of seduction..."
Yelena Hughes’s lips curled into a bitter smile, even if someone saw it with their own eyes, it was Jasper Yale who pulled her into the room, but what use is it?
His heart was with his treasure, and when he left, she had to stay behind to face the cold stares of others.
