The Celibate Tycoon Has Fallen-Chapter 138: Young Master, Will You Marry Her?
"Are you stupid? It’s so hot, don’t you know to take off your jacket?"
Yelena Hughes saw Shawn Thorne across from her, his mouth moving, and then he reached out his hand.
She quickly leaned back, "What are you doing?"
"Helping you take off your jacket. You’re wearing a down jacket, and it’s the thick kind. Aren’t you hot?"
"Not hot!"
Shawn tilted his head, "Sweat is dripping down your face."
Yelena wiped her face with her hand, "I’d be really grateful if you could leave here quickly."
Upon hearing this, Shawn looked around and finally turned around, meeting Jasper Yale’s gaze.
He turned back with a smile, "Why be scared of him? You’re not his bird in a cage. Can he stop you from making friends?"
Yelena lowered her head, not out of fear; she just didn’t like this.
Besides, she liked Shawn even less.
She was lost in thought when Shawn unexpectedly tapped the back of her hand, making Yelena slightly lower her head.
She never thought Shawn would make a face at her. Seriously, doesn’t he care about his image?
Yelena couldn’t help but laugh out loud, drawing the attention of everyone around.
She hurriedly covered her mouth with her hand, not daring to glance in Jasper’s direction, wishing she could crawl under the table.
"Wasn’t it funny? Let me do it again."
Yelena shook her head quickly.
Under the table, Shawn kicked her leg, "I’ll treat you to a midnight snack later."
"I don’t want to eat."
"Give me a chance."
Yelena remained resolute, "No chance."
The break didn’t last long. When Yelena saw it was about time, she quickly got up.
She sneaked a peek at where Jasper was sitting, but his figure was already gone.
She had no idea when he left.
Yelena stayed busy the whole time, right up until ten o’clock at night, and her makeup was nearly ruined.
The big shots were the first to leave, and Yelena and her colleagues crowded at the door, waiting for the editor’s cue before any of them dared to leave.
A car pulled up and stopped right in front of them.
Yelena glanced at it. Whose car was it? She knew it all too well.
The people beside her hadn’t noticed, still talking among themselves, while Yelena quietly took two steps back, trying to find a tall colleague to hide behind.
"Ellie!"
Just as Yelena was about to hide, she heard a headache-inducing voice approaching.
After bidding farewell to some friends, Shawn quickly approached, "I’ve been looking for you everywhere."
"Isn’t this the second son of the Thorne Family?"
"Usually, you only see someone like him on TV!"
Listening to the discussions from her colleagues, Yelena gave Shawn a look, signaling him to leave quickly.
"Ellie, what’s wrong with your eyes? Are they uncomfortable?" Shawn was really being obnoxious now.
"Yelena, do you know him?" The editor-in-chief was intrigued. This girl seemed quite capable.
Yelena really wanted to be a turtle hiding in its shell, but reality did not allow her to do so.
Jasper’s car was blocking the way, and none of the cars behind could move.
Someone impatiently pressed the car horn, and Yelena saw the passenger door open.
Hailey stood there, and the horn miraculously became silent, and everything around became quiet.
Yelena clenched her palms, wondering if Jasper was waiting for her.
"Ellie, let me take you home. We can grab something to eat first." Shawn took out his car keys, trying to take Yelena’s hand.
"Oh my God, is Master Thorne chasing her? He’s calling her so intimately; their relationship must be unusual, right?"
Yelena dodged, looking a bit annoyed, "I’m not going."
Jasper’s car window slowly rolled down, revealing a cold and elegant face. The man was only wearing a shirt, and Yelena saw his features hidden in the shadows, and she panicked.
Hailey wasn’t rushing her; it was up to Yelena to understand.
"Ellie, don’t be shy..."
Yelena heard a slight sound approaching, and Jasper’s car door opened.
Her throat became dry. As Jasper stepped out, his shirt had lost its tie, and without its constraint, his neck was exposed and dangerously alluring.
He approached the crowd, leaving everyone stunned.
Not even the editor felt daring enough to greet him.
Yelena’s gaze was unsteady. Jasper’s throat moved up and down, and a large bruise, where someone had bitten, marked his neck, "Is it not over yet?"
He asked.
Seriously, what on earth were these two up to?
The cold wind blew on Yelena, drying the sweat on her forehead.
She made an effort to smile, locking eyes with Jasper. "Is Young Master talking about the interview? There wasn’t time earlier..."
Jasper’s smile was faint and enchanting, "Still mad?"
Those four words were laden with ambiguity.
Dean Holloway glanced at the mark on Jasper’s neck and, considering what he said about Yelena being mad, drew a conclusion!
"Sister, you’re amazing!"
To dare bite Young Master Yale like that, and then have him come and ask if she was mad, this skill in taming a man was something he really needed to learn.
"Young Master, don’t say that. Why should I be mad? I’m fine."
"Since you’re not finished yet, I’ll go wait for you in the car."
The editor finally reacted, "Let’s disperse, everyone. It’s late. Hurry home."
Shawn crossed his arms, visibly displeased with Jasper’s interruption, "Young Master, don’t you know the rule of first come, first served?"
Jasper ignored him entirely, reaching out his hand to Yelena, "Let’s go."
His hand was especially attractive, with a watch symbolizing status around his wrist. By extending it, he made it impossible for Yelena to refuse.
She walked toward the car, though she didn’t take Jasper’s hand.
Yelena quickly slipped into the car.
The congestion at the entrance cleared up quickly as Jasper left, and he noticed her mood seemed a bit low.
"Who are you upset with?"
"No one, I’m just a bit tired."
Yelena leaned against the seat, resting her head back, "Young Master, there were many media people tonight. Some specialize in reporting community news, some in entertainment gossip. I fear you might be on the headlines tomorrow."
"If I am, it’ll be with you."
Yelena stared at the bite mark on Jasper’s neck. It shouldn’t have been there, and it made her eyes uncomfortable at the moment.
"Young Master, when are you and Miss Alden getting married?"
Jasper turned his head, giving her a mild look, "Why are you asking this?"
"Isn’t it about right after the New Year?" Yelena seemed to be talking to herself, "Once Miss Alden becomes Mrs. Yale, will she target me even more?"
"You’re thinking too far ahead."
Too far ahead?
Isn’t it just a few days until the New Year?
In Nancy Alden’s view, just because Yelena had been with Jasper, she needed to be eliminated. No matter where she ran, it wouldn’t matter.
"Young Master, when you get married, I won’t look for you anymore. Even if the sky falls, I won’t come to you."
"Why?"
