The Celibate Tycoon Has Fallen-Chapter 133: Get Rid of That Dog by Her Side
Josephine’s face became rigid in an instant.
"Hailey, what are you doing here?"
Hailey walked to the table, reached underneath to feel around, and then pulled something off.
She held it in her hand and raised it up—it was a bug device that a waiter had just placed there.
Josephine’s eyes widened, and her face turned from blue to white. She slumped into the chair, almost unable to speak.
Yelena Hughes received a call just as she got home.
Jasper Yale said two words, and as she hung up her bag, her brow furrowed. Her first instinct was that he was about to become inappropriate.
"Young master, I’ve been running around all day for the news and haven’t had a bite to eat for dinner."
"Then take your time and eat at home."
Yelena Hughes let out a breath. "Thank you..."
"The person who filmed the video has been found. If you don’t want to meet them, then forget it."
"It’s not that..." Yelena Hughes just didn’t expect it to be so soon. "I’ll meet them!"
"Bring your sister along."
A wave of unease hit Yelena Hughes. "She won’t want to see those people."
"Will you always stand in front of her? If she doesn’t face some things personally, she will never truly overcome them."
Yelena gripped her phone tightly. "Alright."
She prepared a thick down jacket for Anne Hughes, wrapping her tightly before the two of them set out.
Hailey Jenkins was waiting for them in Sakura’s parking lot. After picking them up, she led them inside.
They arrived at a private room. Hailey opened the door just as Yelena Hughes was about to enter but saw Nancy Alden inside.
Her footsteps halted instinctively, and she grabbed Anne’s arm.
Nancy was a little surprised. "You... why are you here?"
"I asked her to come," Jasper Yale said, looking up at the sisters standing at the door. "Come in."
Yelena Hughes handed Anne Hughes a pair of slippers and told her to change into them.
The tatami-style private room wasn’t spacious. Anne and Yelena Hughes sat opposite Jasper Yale.
Nancy Alden clenched the hem of her dress. Ever since Jasper said he’d bring her here for dinner, she’d felt something was off.
She had called Josephine, but hadn’t reached her yet.
Yelena Hughes cut straight to the point. "Where is she?"
"Who?" Nancy replied.
Jasper picked up the tablet from the table and handed it to Anne Hughes. "See what you want to order."
Never in her dreams did Anne think everyone’s attention would focus on her. She quickly shook her head. "I’m not hungry."
"There are plenty of desserts here and they’re delicious."
Anne looked at Yelena, and only then did she reach out her hand. "Thank you."
She stared at the food images on the screen but didn’t know how to order. Yelena taught her, hand by hand.
Nancy watched with some bewilderment, unable to understand what Jasper was implying, until his gaze finally fell back on her.
"Nancy, do you know what Josephine’s been up to?"
It was as if she heard a cracking sound, followed by an endless wave of panic. Nancy desperately tried to force a smile. "What happened with Josephine?"
Hailey Jenkins, hearing this, went over and removed the screen dividing the rooms. She saw Josephine and Mr. Bell in the other room.
Nancy forced a sentence out. "Josephine, where have you been all day?"
Jasper Yale leaned back, listing the entire situation clearly. "This morning, Josephine met with that old butler of the Alden Family. The two of them dared to plot against a young girl."
Upon seeing them, Yelena Hughes turned fierce, like a wolf ready for battle, her eyes full of ruthlessness.
"Butler Bell hired a bunch of thugs. I’d only heard of following the vine to find the melon, but you did the opposite. Through you both, Hailey found those thugs, retrieved the video, and caught the people."
Nancy felt like she was struck by lightning, her mind buzzing, completely unable to react.
"That’s impossible..."
"Why is it impossible?" This outcome was entirely within Yelena Hughes’s expectations. "Miss Alden, aren’t you well aware?"
Why the pretense?
Josephine was under her command, wasn’t she?
"Young master..." Josephine suddenly knelt down, kowtowing twice toward Nancy Alden. "This matter has nothing to do with Miss Alden. I couldn’t stand Yelena Hughes seducing you; I thought she was shameless. I wanted to teach her a lesson!"
Yelena Hughes had heard such words many times before.
But with Anne next to her, she wanted to turn and cover her sister’s ears. Anne, who never argued with anyone, soft and gentle, was pushed to curse.
"You’re the shameless one."
Nancy Alden hadn’t expected Josephine to admit to everything and didn’t know how Jasper managed to turn the tables completely in one day.
"Nancy, you can’t keep someone like this by your side any longer."
Upon hearing that, Nancy felt anxious and wanted to get up. She pushed herself with strength. "Jasper, Josephine just made a mistake for a moment. Could you let her apologize? Give her a chance."
Jasper took a jewelry box from the side, placing it on the table. "Nancy, see if this is yours."
Nancy Alden knew well that inside was her necklace, the one she’d sent Josephine to take care of a task with.
She trembled as she opened the box. "Yes."
At that moment, she had to stay calm, had to pretend. "How did it end up with you?"
"So Josephine took it without asking, stole your thing?"
Nancy’s mind was in turmoil, but if she admitted she gave it, wouldn’t it indicate she planned the whole thing?
She grinded her teeth, averting her gaze. "I always leave it on the dressing table, haven’t worn it recently."
"Then it’s theft."
Jasper tossed the jewelry box, watching as the necklace fell out. His gaze lazily returned, "Hailey, call the police. For kidnapping, extortion, plus theft, it should give her plenty of time in prison to reflect."
"Yes." Hailey had Josephine taken away. "No need to ruin the young master’s appetite here; let’s go."
Nancy’s tears poured out, wanting to plead with Jasper again, but upon turning, she saw the man’s face cold as ice.
"Nancy, for someone like this, you still shed tears?"
Yelena Hughes handed over a tissue. "Miss Alden should be thankful. You have such a loyal dog by your side, willing to go to prison herself and not drag you down."
