The Celibate Tycoon Has Fallen-Chapter 119: Don’t Forget, I Almost Died at Your Hands
Yelena Hughes felt uncomfortable upon hearing this form of address.
Lindsay Walsh was making tea for Shawn Thorne, using a new cup, the tea leaves were bought last time to entertain Jasper Yale.
"Shawn, come, have some water."
"Thank you, Auntie." Shawn Thorne’s glib tongue was much sweeter than Jasper Yale’s.
Lindsay Walsh saw the man next to Yelena Hughes and showed a bit of displeasure, "Yelena, again asking someone to send you home. We still have guests at home, you should..."
Let Jasper leave.
Yelena Hughes bluntly stared at Shawn Thorne, "What are you doing here?"
"Ellie, we don’t have any shameful relationship, since you won’t bring me home, I had no choice but to visit myself."
Yelena Hughes picked up the gift box on the floor without mercy and tossed it out the door.
Shawn Thorne hadn’t even sipped his tea yet, and watched as Yelena Hughes threw all his things out.
Lindsay Walsh always listened to this daughter, and couldn’t stop her.
Yelena Hughes pointed towards the door, "Leave."
The barrier of the family had been breached, and Yelena Hughes was both anxious and unnerved, almost grinding her teeth as she spoke, "Master Thorne, maybe tomorrow I should visit your home, or perhaps your father’s workplace, pay a visit."
"Alright, I’d love that."
Shawn Thorne just wouldn’t leave.
Jasper Yale’s tall figure approached Shawn Thorne, but before he could speak, Lindsay Walsh was protective of the ’son-in-law’.
"Shawn, it’s cold at home, Auntie will give you a hot water bottle."
She said, handing the freshly heated hot water bottle to Shawn Thorne, "Why are you dressed so lightly, it’s winter, you should wear a down jacket."
Shawn Thorne’s fingers were ice cold, he hugged the hot water bottle to his chest, warming up.
"Thank you, Auntie."
Jasper Yale glanced at the item he was holding tightly, printed with a layer of floral pattern, ugly and tacky.
Yet when he was here last time it was cold too, why didn’t he get one?
Jasper Yale’s face was colder than frost.
"Auntie, I’ve been waiting, I’m very hungry."
"You haven’t had dinner yet? Why didn’t you say earlier, there’s no food at home..."
Shawn Thorne wasn’t picky, "Just cook me a bowl of noodles."
"That’s no problem."
Lindsay Walsh turned toward the kitchen, then Yelena Hughes walked up to Shawn Thorne, trying to drag him from the chair, "Leave."
"Don’t be so petty, Ellie."
"Don’t call me that, we’re not that close."
Seeing that he was set on staying, Jasper Yale simply took a seat in the chair nearby.
"Can’t you see? Auntie really likes me."
Facing Shawn Thorne’s shamelessness, Yelena Hughes was unmoved, "If she knew it was you who made her bring the cake to The Sovereign Club last time, she wouldn’t even let you through this door."
Jasper Yale’s expression showed no great change upon hearing this.
Thinking back now, Shawn Thorne felt somewhat regretful. "I was careless before, and I hope you trust that my visit isn’t meant to cause trouble for your family."
Yelena Hughes moved everything at the door outside, not leaving a single piece.
"Master Thorne, my mom and my sister are very kind, although they’ve met many bad people in this life, they’re still easily trusting of others."
She stood at the door, the outside light brushed across Yelena Hughes’ face.
Her features were highlighted with a sense of resilience.
"I hope you won’t take advantage of their kindness."
"It’s not..."
Shawn Thorne didn’t expect the resentment in Yelena Hughes’ heart to be so deep, "I won’t harm you anymore, not a single hair, trust me."
"I almost died at your hands before, twice."
Yelena Hughes spoke emphatically, holding grudges. She was both a sunny little flower but could also be a vicious little weed.
"I’ll always remember what you did to me, harm and humiliation aren’t something a simple apology can erase."
Jasper Yale was hesitant to speak at this time.
He feared that Yelena Hughes’ fury might spread to him.
In the kitchen, the old-fashioned range hood was loud, Lindsay Walsh turned it off only after finishing the noodles.
"Don’t be picky, it’s just egg noodles. Shawn, would you like chili sauce?"
Shawn Thorne saw a big bowl of noodles placed in front of him. "Yes."
"It’s freshly made from a couple of days ago, give it a taste."
Jasper Yale watched Lindsay Walsh busily walking around, soon she brought a bottle of chili sauce to Shawn Thorne.
His expression grew colder, Lindsay Walsh praised on the side, "Shawn, your handsome appearance shows such integrity."
What does that mean?
A passive-aggressive jab at Jasper Yale?
"Thank you for the compliment, Auntie." Shawn Thorne scooped a big lump of chili sauce, mixing it in the noodles.
"Be careful, it’s spicy."
"It’s fine, I like spicy food." Shawn Thorne stuffed a mouthful of noodles into his mouth, suddenly halting his chewing, Lindsay Walsh thought he was choking. "What’s wrong?"
"The taste is just like my mom’s cooking."
Jasper Yale bluntly remarked, "Don’t all chilies taste the same?"
Lindsay Walsh glanced at him unpleasantly.
Shawn Thorne acknowledged the gesture, finishing almost half the bowl quickly. "Auntie, do you believe in the saying ’appearance stems from the heart’? I grew up with a righteous look, what do you think of the appearance of the young lord across from me?"
Lindsay Walsh refrained from commenting, knowing Jasper Yale gave the medicine to Anne Hughes.
"Why call him a young lord at such a young age?"
"That’s because he has tremendous power, always bullying men and oppressing women..."
Lindsay Walsh’s face turned completely gloomy, sensing the situation was turning sour. Yelena Hughes hurried to Jasper Yale, "It’s getting late, perhaps you should head home."
"What about him?"
"Shawn can stay a bit longer." Lindsay Walsh considered Shawn Thorne better than Jasper Yale. She liked someone sincerely pursuing her daughter.
Jasper Yale’s expression was as if after a storm, cold and wrapped in displeasure.
The doorbell rang then, Yelena Hughes went to open it and saw a stranger standing outside.
"Who are you?"
The man looked past her, directly at Shawn Thorne, "Young Master Thorne is waiting downstairs, he requires your immediate presence."
Shawn Thorne finished the noodles left in the bowl, "Can’t I stay a bit?"
"Young Master Thorne said, Miss Hughes’ family needs rest. If you don’t come down, he’ll come up."
Shawn Thorne swallowed his pride, and stood up, "Auntie, I’ll come next time, I’m still busy today."
Yelena Hughes was pleased, quickly sending both gentlemen away.
Downstairs.
Shawn Thorne walked to Clark Thorne’s car, "I didn’t do anything, you didn’t have to come yourself, did you?"
"Shawn, stay away from this woman."
"I won’t touch her, nor cause her trouble, rest assured."
He already regretted it. He had acted too rashly, too carelessly.
"Dad and I don’t want you to fall for her, she’s truly ruthless, unsuitable for you."
Clark Thorne had just finished speaking when he saw Jasper Yale come down.
His expression changed slightly, their family especially didn’t want to provoke this living king of hell.
Yelena Hughes brought down the bags of belongings, she didn’t care whether Shawn Thorne wanted to take them back, at most they’d be treated as trash tomorrow.
The next day.
Lindsay Walsh got up rather early and went downstairs to buy a few plain buns.
Upon returning, she saw colorful advertisements covered the door, reaching to tear them off.
However, upon closer inspection, the protagonist on the advertisements was surprisingly Shawn Thorne.
The scene was quite scandalous, each paper portrayed different women, indicating his chaotic private life!
Lindsay Walsh tore them all down, entered the house fuming.
Yelena Hughes happened to come out of her room, "Mom, what are you holding?"
Lindsay Walsh quickly ripped the advertisements apart and threw them on the table.
"Not a decent one! If he dares come again, I’ll break his leg!"
Yelena Hughes glanced, Master Thorne had really fallen from grace this time.
Still, who would do such a disgraceful thing?
