The Celibate Tycoon Has Fallen-Chapter 109: Caught in the Act
Nancy also saw clearly.
"Isn’t this..."
She glanced at Jasper Yale’s expression, then quickly said, "It’s just the two of us in this booth, me and Jasper Yale. Didn’t you see that?"
Young Master Warren was really skeptical, "This woman is too cunning. If she’s really hiding here, I’m afraid she might harm you."
"Are you saying she came in here?" Nancy said, instinctively glancing around.
"My people chased her all the way to the top floor. If the surveillance hadn’t been temporarily shut down, I wouldn’t dare disturb you, sir."
Young Master Warren spoke, his eyes turning toward the bathroom.
Nancy gave him the opportunity, "If you don’t believe me, feel free to search."
"Miss Alden is really straightforward. Thank you in advance."
Young Master Warren held back his breath, walking with urgency. Yelena Hughes didn’t dare to make a sound. If he found her at this moment, what good could come of it?
The man pushed open the bathroom door, unwilling to leave even a corner unchecked, but he didn’t find even a shadow.
He returned to the booth, unwilling to give up, and even lifted the curtains.
Still, there was no one.
Then, his gaze was drawn to the tablecloth touching the ground. Yelena Hughes heard footsteps drawing nearer and saw a shadow cast on the bright yellow fabric.
A hand lifted a corner of the tablecloth, about to pull it up.
She hurriedly hid beside Jasper Yale, who chuckled softly, a sound as if sent from Hell itself.
Being so close, Yelena Hughes felt goosebumps rise on her skin.
"Warren, are you seriously disregarding me?"
Young Master Warren paused his hand, looking up at Jasper Yale, "Sir, I wouldn’t dare."
"You say you don’t dare, yet you seem eager to turn this place upside down. What’s going on, does any random person dare to come near me now?"
Nancy saw Young Master Warren’s face turn as red as a liver.
Anger, reluctance, humiliation, all mixed emotions he didn’t dare show on his face.
This is the way of a predator-prey society.
Young Master Warren forced a smile more painful than crying, "Sir, I’m just trying to find someone."
"So you’re implying I’m harboring her."
"I..."
Jasper Yale tapped the table with his fingers intermittently, "Playing the fool in front of me, think you can manage that?"
Young Master Warren dared not move at all.
Nancy saw him withdraw his hands and stood up, "Sir, excuse the disturbance, I’ll leave now."
Even if he knew where Yelena Hughes was hiding now, he dared not act.
The booth quickly returned to silence. Nancy picked up a piece of paper from the table, "When did Miss Hughes become a server here?"
This was printed after being pulled from the surveillance footage; the face wasn’t very clear, yet she could still be recognized instantly.
Nancy wished she could tear her face to pieces.
Her gaze moved to the tablecloth, eyes filled with suspicion.
Jasper Yale continued eating, while Yelena Hughes was anxious, knowing Young Master Warren’s people were surely watching this booth.
Meaning, if Jasper Yale left, she definitely wouldn’t be able to escape.
Jasper Yale ate just a few bites, then stopped his chopsticks.
Someone was tightly hugging his leg, arms clenched firmly. This embrace was really timely. He brushed off a smile without a trace.
Nancy saw his upper body leaning back, eyes seemingly fixed on the space under the table.
Taking advantage of his inattention, she held a chopstick in her hand, her arm hanging by her side, dropping the chopstick gently to the ground.
As Nancy bent down, Jasper Yale didn’t notice. She nervously raised the tablecloth little by little.
Yelena Hughes was hidden below, practically exposed.
Nancy never imagined that while eating, someone was hiding under the table.
She also saw Yelena Hughes firmly holding onto Jasper Yale’s leg.
Nancy quickly stood up, "Jasper..."
"What’s wrong?" The man looked towards her.
She propped a hand on her forehead, hiding the fragmentation in her eyes, fearing she couldn’t hold back and flip the table.
"I feel restless. Let’s go."
Nancy placed both hands on the table, seemingly trying to lift herself.
Jasper Yale agreed, but Yelena Hughes’s hands hadn’t let go.
The man patted her shoulder, quickly freeing his leg, Jasper Yale standing up beside Nancy. "Full?"
Hmm. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
Very full, and uncomfortable.
Nancy clenched her fists, watching Jasper Yale push the wheelchair.
She picked up a drink from the table and, after lifting the tablecloth, poured it forcefully underneath.
The milky-white liquid splashed in front of Yelena Hughes, Nancy’s meaning apparent — she knew she was there?
She placed the cup back, Jasper Yale brought the wheelchair over, and lifted her onto it.
"Jasper, I feel unwell, let’s leave now."
Let’s not stay here. Let Yelena Hughes fend for herself.
Young Master Warren surely won’t give up easily; hope he finishes her off!
"Alright, let’s go."
Yelena Hughes felt a surge to go out, but she couldn’t pierce this window-paper now. Later, Nancy would be embarrassed, and surely Jasper Yale would also blame her?
The wheelchair was pushed from the booth, soon entering the elevator.
The car meeting Nancy waited in the basement, Jasper Yale settling Nacy in but didn’t intend to get in.
Nancy grabbed his hand, "What are you going to do?"
"I’ll leave with Hailey Jenkins, the car’s at the restaurant entrance."
"Come with me, alright?" Don’t go back, he surely can’t let go of Yelena Hughes, he wants to go back to save her, right?
Jasper Yale glanced at the sleeve she held, "I can arrive when you reach home."
"I simply refuse, you get in the car!"
Josephine noticed something off, "Miss..."
Jasper Yale didn’t get angry but evidently didn’t intend to change his mind, "I won’t go anywhere else, nor delay any time here. Do you still not trust me?"
Nancy shook her head, wishing to accuse him outright.
Does he have feelings for Yelena Hughes?
"Josephine, look after her."
Jasper Yale brushed off Nancy’s hand, shutting the car door.
Yelena Hughes waited inside, and when there was no noise, she climbed out.
She opened the booth door, carefully stepping out, finding the corridor surprisingly empty.
Impossible.
Yelena Hughes didn’t have time to ponder this, anxious as she descended the stairs, not spotting Young Master Warren or his people anywhere.
She crossed the lobby, fearing someone might suddenly rush to seize her, seeing the revolving restaurant doors drawing closer.
Yelena Hughes jogged outside, the cold wind eagerly enveloping her.
She saw a car parked at the entrance, Jasper Yale leaning against the door, long legs crossed, posture relaxed, smiling faintly as he watched her approach.
"So slow, did you crawl out using all fours?"
Yelena Hughes couldn’t quite trust her eyes, "Sir, were you waiting for me?"
