Chapter 95: 95: Brother

Although Simon had the urge to beat Thorgan till his face turned black and blue, he controlled himself.

He looked around them, at the shadow wolves and trial candidates that were beginning to focus wholly on them.

He could sense some of the trial candidates staring in their direction with killing intent, and his lips could not help but twitch.

"Since you’re here and you caused this, you better not die."

Thorgan smirked. "I’m stronger than you, huhhh... What’s your name again?"

Simon’s lips twitched. "It doesn’t matter. What matters is us surviving right now."

His guts told him that if he told Thorgan his real name, he’d come to regret it. But not in a way that would put his life in danger, but in... a more annoying way.

’I can still remember how those two laughed at my name. I knew my name was shitty since I was born, but seeing others laugh at my name really ticks a spot.’

’Why couldn’t she just give me a better name for fuck sake?’

As Simon had these thoughts, Thorgan raised a brow with a suspicious and confused expression.

"Why doesnt it matter? How would I address you then?"

Simon flexed his hands, and claws shot out of fingers.

A thought came to his head, and he glanced at his fingers.

’The claws don’t cut through the Chaos Wraps to appear. The Chaos Wraps creates a space for my claws to appear, and once I retract it, it closes the space.’

’... It would have been shocking if my claws always tore through the Chaos Wraps whenever I extend it.’

Snap

Snap

"Hello? Are you there?"

Thorgan’s voice drifted into his ears as he snapped his fingers right in front of his eyes, and Simon gently pushed his hand away.

"Let’s go. We’ll deal with the others before we deal with the Alpha."

Thorgan stared at Simon for a few seconds, then he clapped with a smile.

"Fine by me, brother."

Simon was just about to take a step forward, but he froze on the spot and looked at Thorgan with an incredulous expression.

"Brother? Who is your brother?"

Thorgan smiled and pointed at him.

"You of course. You’ll be the third brother I have."

"What?" Simon was confused. "Didn’t you say you didn’t have any family?"

Thorgan nodded with the same smile.

"I don’t... have any biological family. But I do have some people I call my family."

"For real?"

"Yeah. For real." Thorgan nodded with a bright smile, then he pointed at Simon.

"Since you don’t want to tell me your name, then I’ll call you brother."

"I refuse. Do not call me that." I said with a deep frown, and Thorgan chuckled.

"That’s what first brother said too. You’re a lot like him in many ways."

Simon’s lips twitched, and he was about to speak, but his ears twitched and his instincts rang in his ears.

Without hesitation, he jumped back and dodged the attack of a shadow wolf.

Thorgan did the same and dodged the attack of a trial candidate.

Bang!

Bang!

They both landed close to one another, and Thorgan solemnly looked around them.

"Brother, we are surrounded and I think we might have a big problem."

A vein appeared on Simon’s left temple.

"I thought I told you not to call me that."

Thorgan chuckled. "Well, I have to call you something since I don’t know your name, right?"

Simon shook his head. "Anything but brother."

"Sister?"

"Do you want to die?"

"Father?"

"I think I should feed you to the wolves."

Simon glared at Thorgan who had a smile as he chuckled, but in the next moment, they both swung their hands.

Puchi!

Puchi!

Simon swung his claws at Thorgan’s back, slicing the head of a shadow wolf in five.

Thorgan threw a pair of daggers at Simon’s back, and the daggers lodged themselves in a candidate’s skull and neck.

Both corpses fell to the ground, and Simon and Thorgan stared at one another and nodded.

"Not bad." Thorgan said with a nod of approval.

Simon’s lips twitched, and he seriously had the urge to teach Thorgan a serious lesson. The elder in him felt immensely disrespected.

However, as an elder, he knows that getting angry over a child’s antics was not worth it. Instead, he looked around and observed the wolves and candidates that had surrounded them.

The wolves were staring at Thorgan with killing intent and bloodlust in their eyes, especially the alpha.

And the candidates also had the same expression as they stared at him.

"What did you do to make the wolves and the alpha especially to hate you so much?"

Thorgan scratched the side of his cheek with a wry smile.

"I might or might not have killed his partner while trying to find him?"

Simon turned and glanced at him dead in the eye. He wanted to say something, but once again, the elder in him knew better.

"And what about you? Why do these guys look like they want to tear you limb from limb?"

Simon stared at the candidates who had blood red eyes with some of their body parts having turned to dried up wood.

His gaze went to the Irkalla who was staring at him with the most killing intent.

"I guess I insulted their leader."

Thorgan’s eyes shined brightly. He slapped Simon on the back.

"Good thing, third brother. You see. We’re the same. We both did something to their leaders."

"No. We’re not. You killed the alpha’s partner. I refused a gift from their leader. We’re not the same at all."

Thorgan laughed, then he smiled brightly at Simon.

"I like you, third brother. Why don’t we kill all of them? Don’t worry, I’ll protect you."

Simon raised a brow, and was about to speak, but it seemed the candidates and the wolves had enough.

Both groups ran at Simon and Thorgan, and the duo were forced to defend themselves and fight back.

"You’ll take the wolves, I’ll take the candidates."

Simon said as he clawed at the neck of a candidate, tearing the candidate’s neck to pieces while indifferently kicking the knees of another candidate and slicing his head with his claws as the candidate fell.

Meanwhile, Thorgan used a pair of daggers and sliced two shadow wolves into pieces as he moved at a speed the wolves could not keep up with.

"No problem, third brother!" Thorgan shouted as he dashed toward the pack of wolves with a smile.

"And stop calling me brother for crying out loud. I am not your brother."
