The Broken Halo-Chapter 57: Unique Ocular Technique

Two Velaris entered the room, and Simon’s eyes flashed with a silver light. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

He used his demonic energy on his eyes so that he could accurately gauge what level these two Velaris were.

’Archfiends... And they’re both at the Prime Grade.’

This was something Simon could not do before awakening his Demon Heart, or to be more specific, his chaos flame.

To be able to accurately gauge how powerful a demon was, he instinctively created a technique on the spot that allowed him to see not only the demonic energy surrounding the demon but also a hazy outline of the demon’s chaos flame.

If the Pallbearers knew what Simon had just done, they would be shocked beyond words because he should not be able to do such a thing after just awakening his chaos flame.

What Simon had done was not a new or strange technique in any way. Every Kingdom, clan, and major tribe had techniques that allowed them to see a demon’s demonic energy, though their techniques differed.

However, a demon had to learn such techniques after awakening their chaos flame. An exception is if the demon’s bloodline instinctively contained knowledge on how to use such techniques, but such bloodlines were usually Supreme Noble or Royal bloodlines... not Supreme Common bloodlines.

Corey did not know this, and even if he knew, he wouldn’t care.

The first reason is because he had created that technique not only because of his unique bloodline but because of his experience.

When the demonic energy from his eight crimson rings flowed throughout his body, it also flowed into his eyes. And with his experience, he was able to memorize the internal structure of his eyes and create a suitable ocular technique.

Although he was not used to the anatomy of demons and demonic energy, he found his way around it.

However, he would also admit it that he got some help from his bloodline. When he tried creating the technique, he instinctively knew what to do and the best way to channel his demonic energy.

The result was creating a technique that would even shock the minor and major kingdoms, not just the Shadowgrave Clan.

The main reason why Simon’s ocular technique would shock not just the Shadowgrave Clan but the minor and six major kingdoms is because his ocular technique could see a demon’s chaos flame.

A demon’s chaos flame could not be seen unless one was either a Demi-God, a god, or had a Blessing in the form of an ocular technique.

If one ripped out a demon’s heart and decided to cut in two to see the demon’s chaos flame, they would see nothing.

The chaos flame was invisible to normal eyes, and once a demon’s heart died, the chaos flame died with it.

A chaos flame could only be seen and could only live in a demon’s heart.

Simon could not see the full image of a demon’s chaos flame, he could only see a vague outline of it, and this was because of his demonic cat bloodline.

His bloodline instinctively directed him on how to create an ocular technique that could make him see a demon’s chaos flame.

If his bloodline had evolved the more, he would have been able to see more than what he currently seeing, but it was enough for him.

His ocular technique allowed him to accurately gauge a demon’s level, and that was all that mattered to him.

However, if other demons should hear of this, the shock they’d be in could not be described.

Simon didn’t know this, but he knows that there is more to his bloodline after it underwent an evolution. He knows that even if it was a Common Bloodline, it was not a normal Common Bloodline.

There was just something about his bloodline he couldn’t put his hands on. He also knew that if he was standing before a demon with a noble bloodline, he would not need Fearless to stay calm.

His bloodline would not be fearful or feel any bloodline suppression. In fact, under the right circumstances, he had a feeling that he might be able to make a Noble bloodline feel fear.

’Interesting. The more time goes by, the more information is suddenly coming to my head regarding not just my demon cat bloodline but my one-horned demon bloodline.’

’Demons and bloodlines huh... No wonder they are so powerful. They can learn and understand things so easily.’

As Simon had these thoughts, the two Velaris who were wearing masks and robes to cover the bandages on their bodies, stood before him.

They both glanced at the vomit on the floor, and Simon could see the disdain and disgust in their eyes as they shifted their gaze toward him.

They believed that he had puked his guts out because of the pain of the bodily transformation every demon went through after awakening their chaos flame, but Simon did not bother to explain or make a remark.

He just stared at them with a calm and indifferent expression.

"Follow us. We’ll take you to your room where you’ll wait for the trials." One of the Velaris said.

Simon nodded, then the Velaris walked, and Simon followed.

As they were walking through a corridor with no doors, he asked a question.

"When is the trial starting?"

"The trials will begin three days after today."

’Trials huh. Not just a single trial.’

The first Velari who spoke had also said trials instead of trial, but Simon said trial on purpose to be certain that the first Velari had not made a mistake.

’I wonder what the trials would be like.’

Just as Simon had this thought, he felt multiple perceptions sweep over him, and the hair all over his body tingled and rose.

’It’s them.’

He recognized the auras. It was the auras of the Pallbearers, and he knew that they had just scanned him for his physical body and demonic energy.

’Fortunately for me, the demonic energy I passively release has an azure colour, not a silver colour or else it would cause more suspicions and problems for me.’

Simon shifted his gaze to the two Velaris, and he noticed that they did not sense the perceptions that just swept over the building they were in.

’Now that I have my chaos flame and demonic energy, I can truly have a feel of how powerful they are.’

’And those guys... have to be the amongst the most powerful Demon Lords I’ve encountered... Especially the demon with a single crimson dot on his mask. That one has to be third strongest Demon Lord I’ve encountered.’

’Maybe even top two.’

’... Power... I’ll have to be a lot more powerful than my past life.’

Simon’s eyes flashed with a cold and sharp demonic light.
