The Broken Halo-Chapter 190: Sudden Strangeness
His daemon tiger bloodline had experienced a slight change.
He could feel that his affinity for the wind element had increased, and he could also feel that his Daemon Bloodline was extremely close to becoming a Noble Bloodline.
In fact, he believed that if he had not stopped his daemon tiger bloodline from killing his one-horned demon bloodline, his Daemon Bloodline would have become a Noble Bloodline by now.
But Simon did not want such a thing to happen.
His knowledge when it came to hybrids- demons with two or more bloodlines- was not so great, but he knew that hybrids had it more difficult when advancing to higher ranks.
The bloodlines would always be in conflict, and no matter what, the host demon would not be able to bring out the full abilities of the bloodlines.
If one bloodline was greater than the other, then the weaker bloodline would be suppressed, and in cases like Simon’s, the weaker bloodline could be completely destroyed.
However, Simon knew that there were hybrids who were far more powerful than demons who were in the same rank.
He had faced a few in his past life, and he knew that if he found a way to possess and control two Daemon Bloodlines, then there’s no way he would not be more powerful than even other Daemon’s in his rank.
’But the problem is that I need to find a way to evolve my one-horned demon bloodline to a Daemon bloodline. I was very lucky with my demon cat bloodline.’
’I’m not sure if such a thing can happen with my one-horned demon bloodline, but I need to find a way to evolve the bloodline. Could the clan have hidden records of Daemons?’
’Maybe I might find something... But another problem is how to evolve my bloodline before becoming an Archfiend.’
’If I become an Archfiend without evolving my one-horned demon bloodline, then it might not be possible to evolve it after... Do I have to abandon it in the future.’
Simon’s brows were deeply furrowed as he had these thoughts, then he released a deep sigh.
’When I get to that part of the bridge, I’ll know how to cross it. For now, let’s consolidate my new heart rank. It’s pretty obvious that I just advanced.’
Simon looked at his body which had dark silver light flowing through his veins. One could also see the glowing dark silver flame around his left chest, making it obvious that he just advanced.
Simon shook his head at his appearance. He was no longer in pain despite his burning heart, but he knew that his current condition was not stable, and if he was not careful, his chaos flames could go out of control.
He needed to control his chaos flame which was burning his heart, and once he did that, he would officially become a Fiend.
He sat in a cross-legged position, then he closed his eyes and meditated.
He only had about six minutes left before his time in his cultivation room was used up, and six minutes was more than enough for him to consolidate his new realm.
If there was thing he was extremely talented at, it was controlling his internal energy. His decades of experience in his past life and his innate talent in controlling his internal energy was what helped him to become such a monster in energy control.
Consolidating one’s new realm usually took a day for the talented ones or days for the average individuals, but for Simon, he only needed a few minutes to consolidate his new heart rank, and he did it in five minutes.
He exhaled deeply, and visible hot air was released from his mouth, like a dragon exhaling before releasing its dragon’s breath.
This hot breath of his actually a few impurities in them, but Simon knew that there were more impurities in his body and heart he would need to remove later in the future.
But for now, his chaos flame was stable, his heart was burning, and his new rank was consolidated.
He had less than a minute left, and he was ready to have his revenge on the Iron Fangs.
He placed his hand on the ground and was about to get to his feet, but something he never expected, happened.
His spatial ring glowed, and the Chaos Blade appeared in front of him.
"Huh?"
Simon was stunned and baffled, but in the next moment, his eyes widened beyond belief as the Chaos Blade suddenly stabbed into his heart.
"SHIT!"
Simon stumbled backward in fear, but it was too late.
The Chaos Blade pierced through his heart and Simon was about to scream and curse, expecting unbearable pain and an inevitable death at the same time, but to his shock... Nothing happened.
There was no pain.
No death.
And not even a hole could be seen in his chest.
It all seemed like an illusion, and Simon was extremely baffled to the core.
"What just happened?"
It all felt real to Simon, and even though it seemed like it was an illusion, Simon had a feeling that it was not.
But why did the Chaos Blade suddenly come out of his spatial ring?
And why did it suddenly attack him?
Why did it... ’pierce’ his heart?
Simon frowned deeply, then he looked at his left chest.
He closed his eyes, then he sent his senses into his heart.
He was shocked when he saw that dwelling inside his heart was the Chaos Blade, though it was extremely small compared to its normal size, it was there, right inside his heart, bathing and floating in the heat of his chaos flame.
"What in the world is going on?"
Simon was even more lost as he stared at his heart.
This time around, he was even beginning to believe that he was seeing things and that he was stuck in an illusion.
After all, he had never heard of a heart hosting a blade in his entire life.
"Am I being attacked?"
"Am I hallucinating because something went wrong when I advanced?"
"Am I actually unconscious and this is a dream?’
Many questions and thoughts appeared in Simon’s head, but in that moment, a woman’s voice suddenly echoed in his head.
"Hey. Kindly keep quiet. Imagine me waking up, and the first thing I’m hearing is your mutterings like the buzzing of a fly."
