Chapter 129: 129: The Worth of Mine

Due to the commotion and noise Simon and the three other Initiates caused, those who lived nearby, came out of their houses and were watching what was going on.

Some were indifferent toward what was happening and did not care, but some were surprised by Simon’s nonchalant and confident attitude at the threat to his life.

To them, they could not imagine being in Simon’s shoes.

It was certain that many of their classmates would target Simon and attempt to kill him because of his actions, and they believed that even if Simon had somehow found a way to get first position in the first and second trial, he was not powerful enough to contend the whole class and even some of them who were living in row C.

They had never seen Simon battle before, so they refused to believe that a Lesser Demon was more powerful than they were.

Even now, the three Initiates whom Simon had defeated were all Prime Fiends.

Despite what Simon did, they believed that Simon had just taken them by surprise and used that to their advantage, just like he ambushed them.

But no matter what they believed about Simon, his words could not leave their minds.

"You say all of that, but the question is if any of you would even be able to kill me."

These were extremely arrogant words, but with the aura Simon was emitting and the coldness of his gaze, they just could not refute his gaze.

As for Simon, he truly did not care what any of them thought and neither was he bothered by the fact that many of his classmates hated him and wanted to kill him.

In fact, as the gears in his mind turned, he welcomed it and wanted such a thing to happen.

’Become a player and not a chess piece.’

He smiled behind the mask, and his cold gaze softened also as he stared at the two Initiates in front of him.

"How many merits do each of you have?"

He turned and looked at the bleeding Initiate. "Including you."

The Initiates had baffled expressions, and they looked at one another.

"Huhh... I have thirty seven (37) merits."

"I have fifty five (55) merits."

"I have forty eight (48) merits." 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

Simon could not help but twitch his lips the moment he heard the number of merits each of the Initiates had.

He had gotten a much higher points than all of them combined together, and he still believed that even if his points were reduced by 80%, it should still be enough to have more points than these three combined together.

However, he only had twenty (20) points.

’I guess I’ve just confirmed it. I’ve been cheated, and it’s so blatantly obvious.’

’If it’s the clan that did it, then it’s either they believe I’ll be ignorant to what they did or they believe that I can’t do anything about it.’

’And if it’s an individual or a group of individuals that did it, probably those in charge of the merits of clan members, then they might also have the same thoughts as the clan... Believing that I’ll be ignorant to it or that I can do nothing about it.’

’Unfortunately, I’m not ignorant and there’s something I can about it.’

Simon shook his head softly, then he pointed at each Initiate.

"You’ll transfer thirty two (32) merits to me. Leave five (5) for yourself so that you can use it at the clinic."

"You’ll transfer fifty (50) merits. Just like him, use the rest for the clinic."

"And you’ll transfer forty three (43) merits. Five merits is going to be enough to pay for the treatment of that stab."

The eyes of the three Initiates, the other Initiates watching them from their rooms, and even the Shadow Blades watching in the distance widened.

They could not believe what they just heard.

Was Simon... extorting them?

"What do you mean I should give you all of my merits?! Why do you think I’d ever do that?!" The first Initiate who raged at Simon earlier, shouted in anger once again, and Simon indifferently looked at him.

"You wanted to take my life, and all I asked for in exchange was fifty merits from you. Or do you think my life is worth less than fifty merits?"

The Initiate spat on Simon’s boot with a glare.

"You’re a damned slave. Your life is worth less than the sand under my feet."

Simon glanced at the spit on his boot with a calm and indifferent expression, then he looked at the Initiate who was staring daggers at him.

Before the Initiate could even react...

Bam!

Bang!

Bam!

Bang!

Bam!

Bang!

Simon kicked his head three times, and the Initiate’s head slammed onto the wall three solid times.

Blood splattered on the wall, and the moment the Initiate’s head fell to the ground, he was unconscious and blood flowed from the back of his head.

The eyes of the two other Initiates widened in shock and fear, and the Initiate who was close to him quickly backed away in fear.

"No matter one’s status, if you do not have the personal power to back up your words, then learn to keep quiet or you might lose your life." Simon indifferently said as he wiped the blood and saliva on his boot using the cloth of the unconscious Initiate while standing.

He looked at the Initiate who backed away in fear.

"Because of him, the three of you would give me all your merits. Not a single merit shall be left."

The Initiate’s eyes widened. "But what about our medical bills and food? How are we going to pay for basic things?"

Simon indifferently raised a brow. "You guys surely have some money with you. Take it to the exchange center and exchange your money for merits. You should be grateful I’m allowing you to go with your personal belongings after trying to take my life."

"A life is priceless, but the worth of mine cannot be put into words."
