The Birth of Sword God-Chapter 288 - 255: Demons Descend from the Heavens, Treading on Snow
Atop the ancient tree's branches, three Daoist Sect true disciples stood at varying heights, looking down upon the five Fourth Realm evil cultivators below.
Judging from momentum and bearing, it was actually these lower-realm three—pressing the five across from them down by a whole level.
Chu Huaixu's eyes were sharp as blades, sweeping over the five as he sent out a secret transmission: "The third one on the left is mine, the rightmost one for Shuangjiang, the weakest one—Xiaoxu, that's for you to practice on."
He assigned the evil cultivator with the highest realm to Big Ice Cube. After all, her realm was the highest among the three, making it a better test.
Those are all Experience Points, but the other side is his Daoist partner—Chu Huaixu could only grit his teeth and "painfully give up his treasure."
The one with the lowest realm was handed to Xiaoxu.
After all, his cultivation was lowest, and he hadn't brought the Bronze Sword down the mountain—he'd have to kill using just the power of his flesh.
The other three—those were his prey.
Just as they were about to act, an evil cultivator with slightly mismatched eyes suddenly shouted, "The power of sensing actually just reacted—albeit faintly!"
"Among these three, someone recently came into contact with the thing the Sect Leader wants!"
The five evil cultivators of the Fourth Realm exchanged glances, their fighting spirit rising fiercely.
Even though those twenty-one Sword Qis earlier were pretty terrifying, the fact that they dared come to Daoist Sect territory showed they were here to lick the blade for fortune—seeking riches amidst danger!
Listening to them, Chu Huaixu's brow couldn't help furrowing.
"One of us three has recently come into contact with the Divinity Transformation Fruit Position? Carrying a trace of that Fruit Position's aura?"
For once, he was dumbfounded.
"No way, right?"
If that were true, why didn't the System trigger a quest?
Did my System die of old age!?
The three Daoist Sect true disciples leapt from the ancient tree in unison, charging straight at the five evil cultivators below.
In Han Shuangjiang's hand, the Zhegu Heaven sword drew from its sheath—the flash of a chilling sword-light in the air.
Chu Huaixu and Xu Ziqing—these two body cultivators—were bare-handed but showed not a trace of fear.
The former punched directly at an evil cultivator's blade, meeting the enemy's Sword Gang with his own flesh!
The Sword Gang left a trail of blood across Chu Huaixu's fist, yet a smile curled at his lips.
This proved that without entering Holy Body State, a Fourth Realm evil cultivator's blow could at least leave him a minor injury.
Oh damn, not bad at all. That's a deep wound—it'll take three or four seconds to close up.
The slightly cross-eyed evil cultivator watched as the Daoist disciple's injury healed at a shocking rate—scalp going numb, as if faced with a monster.
They'd never heard of such a monstrous Third Realm Body Cultivator existing in the world!
As for Chu Huaixu, since he was killing across realms—and one against three at that—he wasn't arrogant in the least.
Sword Qi began to gather at his fingertips, as he immediately unleashed Fearless Sword Intent, channeling the power of Sword Heart contained in his Heart Sword.
"Sword and Body Dual Cultivation!"
The three evil cultivators all froze in tandem.
The slightly cross-eyed one suddenly thought of someone.
"Are you… the Profound Yellow Leader, Chu Huaixu?!" He slashed out, blurting the question.
But what greeted him was—a Six Out of Seven!
His Sword Gang was instantly swallowed by an overwhelmingly tyrannical Sword Qi.
The evil cultivator coughed blood on the spot, his body flying backwards.
Chu Huaixu used Feixuan, dodging the clumsy moves of the other two, raising his hand to finish off the "low-health mob."
He went for the direct approach—his left arm slugging straight at the evil cultivator's head!
"Boom!"
Nearly half his skull was caved in; his neck broke instantly, leaving his head flopping over his shoulder.
Couldn't be more dead.
Only now did Chu Huaixu reply to him—whether he could still hear or not.
"It's exactly me!"
Leaving the two remaining evil cultivators utterly stupefied.
One face-off and we already lost a man?
This is what you call "just entered the Third Realm," huh?!
And also—what the fuck is with "it's exactly me"? Isn't it custom to be modest and say, "it's exactly me (the lesser)"?!
The pleasant System notification immediately rang in Chu Huaixu's ear.
But a look of faint disgust quickly crossed his face.
Very obviously, these three evil cultivators were much weaker than the Evil Cultivator Envoy he'd killed before.
That Evil Cultivator Envoy had solid foundations and condensed spiritual power, little different from a normal cultivator.
But these three—shaky foundation, drifting spiritual power—their realm slapped up in a rush; calling it a Pseudo Realm would be generous.
Though honestly, that's par for the course with evil cultivators.
Which meant the System gave pitiful Experience Points—just 93,123, in fact.
"Too weak." Chu Huaixu said blandly.
Damn you evil cultivators, can't you learn from me and put in more work yourself?
How'd you get to be such total mobs?
The remaining two evil cultivators—first reaction: run!
The two were nearly scared out of their wits.
But glancing at Chu Huaixu, they noticed his right arm was nearly trashed too.
"A chance!" Their eyes lit up.
Then they realized his right arm was visibly mending at a terrifying speed.
This is wicked. Wicked to the extreme! Even in the evil cultivators' home base we haven't seen shit like this!
But as they exchanged blows just now, the sensation of that power of sensing inside them grew much more intense.
"It's him! He's the one who came in contact with what the Sect Leader seeks!" one shouted, letting all three remaining evil cultivators hear.
"Withdraw!"
All four now wanted to flee.
Because whether it was over at Han Shuangjiang's side or Xu Ziqing's, the fight was also one-sided.
The four knew that reporting this to the Sect Leader would definitely be a huge merit.
The Profound Yellow Leader is not someone we are worthy to capture alive, right?
The four split to escape in different directions.
Han Shuangjiang and Xu Ziqing instantly used Feixuan, giving chase directly.
Chu Huaixu, having two to pursue, sent his fingertip sword qi after the slower of the two evil cultivators.
"That's what you get for not practicing your body technique!" The faster one felt smug, happy to have survived.
"Much obliged—let your life help buy me a few more seconds!"
He kicked off an ancient tree, body arcing away at speed through the air.
The evil cultivator seized the moment to glance back—only to see a body cut in half.
He stared, eyes wide: "Where's Chu Huaixu!?"
But a voice echoed from up ahead.
"Looking for me, are you?"
The evil cultivator stared forwards—seeing that black-robed man standing aloft ahead, on a tree branch, looking down on him.
Chu Huaixu bore a golden imprint between his brows, and golden fire burned in his eyes.
Frightening physical explosive power, paired with full-level Profound Level body technique, had let him overtake his prey.
The result was obvious.
Within three moves, another life snuffed out.
"All three together—just over three hundred thousand Experience Points."
Chu Huaixu exhaled, reminding himself not to get greedy.
Off in the distance, he saw that Big Ice Cube had already finished off her opponent.
Her snow-white hair faded, three thousand black tresses returning, stepping out of Celestial Human State.
Xiaoxu, who'd been using body refining divine techniques, got his kill after three moves as well.
The three regrouped, lifting their heads to the sky simultaneously.
"Why is it suddenly so cold?" That was the mutual thought in their minds, watching snow suddenly drift from the sky.
The snow arrived abruptly.
And it fell big and sudden, too.
—Billowing clouds press down at dusk, urgent snow wheels in the wind.
Seeing this abnormal scene, Chu Huaixu couldn't help but feel a sense of dread.
From the nine heavens, a voice drifted down, slow and eerie.
"The Daoist Sect's true disciples, as expected."
"Some skill indeed."
A short man, cloaked entirely in black and masked with wood, walked forward in the snow.
Wherever he stepped, snowflakes gathered thick beneath his feet.
Step by step, he descended.
The three Chu Huaixu Daoist disciples suddenly found they could not move, faces upraised to the sky—completely immobilized!
Yet Chu Huaixu's eyes held not a trace of fear.
Even as he struggled to break free, he tried tossing out an Information Detection.
The result—a string of question marks.
This was not someone they could handle.
Chu Huaixu was already plotting—wondering if he could activate the Storage Token and use the Domain God Talisman Li Chunsong had given him. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
But just then, a spring breeze swept past.
All the restraints on the three dissolved in an instant.
Even the biting chill faded a few degrees.
A familiar silhouette appeared before them.
Lu Pan, apparently displeased by the black-cloaked man's posturing, raised his right hand in a downward chop.
A formation of azure light condensed above, crashing down from the heavens—slamming the interloper down onto Guanghan Cliff.
