The Billionaire's Rental Wife Is A Hot Shot-Chapter 29: Drunk Dazed
Chapter 29: Drunk Dazed
Zevian’s expression blanched, his mind racing in pure terror. He sprinted toward the scene, his heart pounding erratically against his chest. John and the rest of the team, who had been mingling as ordinary citizens, followed closely behind.
Pushing through the growing crowd at the water’s edge, Zevian’s feet sank into the cold, wet sand as he moved closer to the body. The black leather jacket on the woman’s body heightened his anxiety. He crouched down, his hands trembling as he flipped the body over, soaking her back in the harsh cold water.
Relief washed over him as he realized the woman wasn’t Evelyn. But that didn’t guarantee her safety. His mind raced with the thought of her being targeted again, and he quickly instructed his team to form a search party. "Call the cops and handle this!" he ordered one of his men before walking over to Riya with urgent concern.
Bobby comforted her daughter, who was visibly shaken by the sudden appearance of bouncers. "Did you really hear anything?" Zevian asked, his voice laced with worry. Riya nodded vigorously, and Bobby suggested checking the CCTV footage.
Everyone rushed back to the bar. One of the staff quickly brought up the security footage. Zevian leaned over the monitor, watching intently as Evelyn entered the bathroom with Riya standing outside. Fast-forwarding the tape, they saw Riya enter, and then Evelyn exiting shortly afterward, walking out of the bar before disappearing into the night as the outside camera couldn’t cover a wide range.
"Maybe she walked out while you were searching inside," Ryan suggested, glancing at Riya.
"Get the choppers and search the entire beach!" Zevian demanded to John, his expression darkening with each passing second.
But just as they were to exit the bar, Ryan interrupted, "I know where Grace might be."
All eyes turned to him, and Zevian stepped forward, eager for more information. "Follow me," Ryan instructed, before rushing out of the bar.
It took a few minutes to trek the rocky outcrop Ryan had mentioned. The terrain was uneven, with jagged rocks and steep slopes leading to a small peak overlooking the beach. The rhythmic crashing of waves mixed with the occasional distant calls of seagulls, created an eerie yet tranquil atmosphere.
As they reached the peak, Zevian spotted Evelyn sitting on a rock, her silhouette bathed in moonlight. A wave of relief washed over him before he hurried to Evelyn.
"Evelyn!" Zevian’s thundering voice echoed in the quiet night. Evelyn turned around, her vision blurry due to alcohol as she tried to make out who was approaching.
Zevian knelt beside her and pulled her into a tight hug. The familiar scent of sandalwood, coupled with his warmth, brought a small smile to Evelyn’s lips. She wrapped her arms around him, sinking into his embrace, but when he gently pulled back, a slight pout formed on her face.
"Have you lost your mind? Do you even care about your safety?" Zevian’s voice was thick with anger and concern, his scolding as harsh and relentless as ever.
"I’m cold," Evelyn mumbled, pursing her lips. Blinking innocently, she cutely stretched her arms, softening Zevian’s eyes. Her glazed eyes and flushed cheeks revealed how drunk she was, and her innocent pout melted away his frustration.
Sighing, Zevian pulled her close and lifted her into his arms. Evelyn nestled against his neck, her silly smile never wavering as he walked down.
"Send the bike to Wright Mansion and prepare a car to my house," Zevian ordered, considering taking her to Reign mansion in this state would worry everyone. John nodded and quickly set about making the necessary arrangements.
When they returned to the bar, Bobby breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing Evelyn asleep in Zevian’s arms. Zevian gently placed his wife in the car, adjusting her head before closing the door.
Turning to Bobby, he apologized, "I’m sorry for all the trouble."
"It’s fine. Just take care of her," Bobby replied with a smile. Zevian nodded before entering the car and John drove away. As the three cars drove away, Bobby and her twins sighed and headed toward the crime scene, which had now become all too frequent.

Once they reached the house, Zevian carefully lifted Evelyn in his arms. The cold breeze woke her up, and she looked at him, a small frown forming on her lips.
"Put me down, you jerk!" she screamed, kicking her legs in the air. Zevian sighed, realizing the drunken demon had finally been unleashed.
He managed to carry her into the hall and set her gently on the ground. Two workers, surprised by their unexpected arrival, quickly rushed to them.
"Prepare a glass of honey and water," Zevian ordered, his eyes never leaving Evelyn as she struggled to stand. When she wobbled, he reached out to steady her, but she pushed him away.
"I can manage myself! I don’t need a man in my life! I can live alone and love myself," Evelyn babbled, her voice slurred. Then her bold expression melted into a pout. "But I need a man to continue my bloodline. My beautiful genes cannot get wasted in one lifetime."
Zevian shook his head and chuckled, causing Evelyn to scowl at him. Pointing a finger at him, she declared, "Just wait and watch, you bloody loser! I am gonna find a man, more charming than you! I will marry a man hotter than you!"
"But you already married me, Evelyn," Zevian replied, moving closer to help her maintain balance.
"What?" Evelyn frowned. When he gestured to her hand, she looked down at the sparkling ring on her finger. "No way! When did this happen?" she gasped, grabbing his hand to compare their matching rings. Glaring up at him, she grumbled, "You tricked me into this, didn’t you!"
"Yes, I did," Zevian nodded, smiling. "Now, drink this." He took the glass from the maid’s tray and handed it to Evelyn.
Evelyn shrugged off his hold and shook her head. "No, you must have spiked it! I can’t trust a devil and get tricked again!" She almost lost her balance, but Zevian caught her and helped her sit on the nearby couch.
"You are a mess, Eva. Just drink this or you will have a headache in the morning."
"You already left an ache in my heart and now you want to hurt my head too? Such audacity, huh!" Evelyn continued babbling, her endearing expressions making even the maids smile.
Zevian sighed, knowing this would only go in circles until morning. He passed the glass back to the maid, rolled up his sleeves, and moved closer to Evelyn.
A yelp escaped Evelyn’s mouth as Zevian suddenly hoisted her over his shoulder, his hands firmly gripping her legs.
"Put me down, you devil! I am not going to fall for your seduction again!" Evelyn’s screams echoed through the hall as Zevian carried her upstairs to her room, the maids following behind on his order.
Placing her gently on the bed, Zevian instructed the maids to help her into comfortable clothes and to call him once they were done. Taking a final glance at her, he walked out of the room.
Evelyn huffed loudly and continued talking about him to the maids, who promptly listened to her as they guided her to the bathroom. It felt like they were taking care of a bigger version of Kiana; their lady boss was too cute in her drunken daze.
After taking a quick shower, Zevian changed into his pajamas and walked to her room, his hair still slightly wet. The maid who had just walked out glanced at him worriedly, causing Zevian to rush inside.
There, on the bed, Evelyn stood with a hair dryer in her hand, dancing and singing her favorite song. The maid, who had been trying to pull her down, took a step back and walked out, leaving her in his care.
Zevian placed his hands on his hips and stared at his dear drunken wife. "Evelyn, come down!"
Evelyn ignored him, continuing to twirl and sing off-key. Zevian sighed and moved closer, reaching up to gently pull her down. They both sat on the bed, and he took the hair dryer from her hand, placing it on the nightstand.
Before he could escape, Evelyn suddenly moved forward, causing him to lean back on the headboard while she leaned close to his face. Her eyes were glazed, her pupils slightly dilated, and her cheeks flushed from the alcohol.
"Tell me, are you really human?" she asked, her voice slurred but filled with a childlike curiosity.
When Zevian didn’t reply, she continued, "Because only a devil can have this kind of handsome features."
Her eyes roamed over his face, admiring his strong black eyebrows, the sharp cut of his nose, the defined line of his jaw, and his slightly wet hair, which gave him a tousled, irresistible look. Her gaze finally landed on his soft lips, and she licked her own unconsciously.
Without thinking, she suddenly captured his lips with hers, pressing a soft, passionate kiss onto his mouth.
Zevian’s eyes widened in surprise, his heart skipping a beat. The warmth of her lips and the intensity of her kiss set him ablaze, and before he knew it, he was kissing her back.
