The Billionaire's Rental Wife Is A Hot Shot-Chapter 109: Angel From Heaven
Chapter 109: Angel From Heaven fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
"Can you come with me, Mommy?"
Evelyn’s eyes widened subtly in surprise but quickly composed her expression and nodded to Kiana. Taking the white roses from the basket, she passed one to her little bear, who slowly walked closer to the grave.
Kiana’s hold on Evelyn’s hand tightened as they stopped beside the headstone. Evelyn squatted down to Kiana’s height and gently patted her back, letting her understand that it was okay. Kiana looked at Evelyn and then at her mother’s picture, tears slowly trickled down her eyes.
"You should join them," Natalie suggested to Zevian, knowing her little niece needed both of her parents to release her pent-up emotions, and let out what she felt all these years without Katherine beside her.
Rosalind who had already broken into tears at Kiana’s soft sobs, took a step forward and patted Zevian’s back. Natalie was right, their little munchkin needed both of their strength to finally face her mother. Zevian followed their advice and went to his family, squatting beside Kiana on the other side.
Kiana sniffled gently and looking at Katherine’s picture, she slowly greeted, "H-hi, Mommy..." There was a few seconds of silence as the little girl figured out what to speak and everyone waited patiently.
"I always waited for you to send me an angel from heavens... who would punish my classmates for making fun of me for not having you, protect me from night monsters, hug me tightly like other moms hugged their kids after school, pay with me all the time." Kiana started, her voice choking with emotions. Turning to Evelyn, she smiled slightly and continued, "And I am glad you finally sent someone to me."
Evelyn teared up at Kiana’s sincere confession. Every word made even everyone emotional. Poor girl had been through a lot and had been longing for a motherly figure and they all were glad she finally found her happy family.
"Mommy is super duper cool, sweet and loves me more than Daddy." Kiana continued, a smile tugging her lips. "And look! She even remade the dress you gave me." She twirled around as if Katherine was standing right in front of her and could see everything.
Zevian smiled and patted his daughter’s head, proud that she had grown up so lovely. Evelyn deserved all the credits and he was glad Kiana also felt the same way.
"So, don’t worry about me and Daddy. You be happy in heaven, okay?" Kiana asked softly, taking out her pinky finger for a promise. Recalling what Evelyn had asked her to say, she added, "And I will visit you more."
Evelyn smiled in satisfaction. Placing a hand on Kiana’s little back, she suggested, "Give her the flower."
Kiana nodded with a smile and stepped forward to place the white rose in front of the headstone. Zevian followed his daughter and stepped back, giving Evelyn the space to pay her respects too.
Evelyn placed the flower and to everyone’s surprise, she bowed to the headstone. But her words made them emotional again. "Thank you for giving birth to such a lovely girl. I promise to love her just as much as you do."
"Shall we visit the church before leaving?" Evelyn asked Kiana who nodded. With a smile, she picked her up and walked out with Zevian following behind.
Natalie stayed behind with Fredrick who wanted to spend more time with his daughter and Rosalind let her be, following Evelyn with Jonathan and Avery by her side. As everyone left, Fredrick walked to the headstone and caressed it, a sad smile tugging his lips.
"You did well, Katie." He murmured, his eyes falling on Zevian’s back. "Leaving Kia with him was the best decision."
Natalie smiled at his words, glad that someone from Dominic’s family did not hate her brother. Zevian had given up so much for Kiana but Evelyn made sure to fill all the gaps. And she hoped for her to make their lives even better.
Once they visited the church and had a brief chat with the father and staff there, the Reign family left back to the mansion. It was already quite late, with the sun slowly setting below the horizon that Evelyn and Zevian decided to go and stay in the mansion too for tonight since they all still needed to dine together to end the day on a good note.
Luckily, Fredrick knew his boundaries and didn’t follow them and Rosalind was relieved Natalie didn’t follow him back to the hospital again. Emily who had been with her dad all day, under the doctor’s observation to see if Dominic could remember also returned to the mansion with Agatha.
The Reign family gathered around the large dining table, and Rosalind couldn’t ignore the nagging feeling of things going haywire. Whenever they gathered, someone or something would always ruin the moment, the last dinner they had together was the perfect example. Kiana entered happily with her parents, bringing a weak smile to her lips.
Gesturing for them to sit down, Rosalind sat beside Avery on the other side and they all patiently waited for Jonathan and Natalie to join them. Once they arrived, the maids quickly started serving the family under the head butler’s supervision.
Kiana, after the emotional visit to her mother’s grave, seemed to be in her usual brighter spirit. She chatted softly with her parents about how annoying Yael was in the school. Zevian listened to her yapping, nodding from time to time while Evelyn helped the little girl focus on her dinner too. The other members of the family watched them with bright smiles, finding the day ending on a better note, unlike the past few years.
After dinner, they all settled in the hall to relax, Avery was busy finalizing her arrangements for the company anniversary while Evelyn and Jonathan offered her insights. Rosalind sat with Kiana, reciting her a story but the little girl was already half asleep in her lap. Zevian who was busy with his work noticed it and offered to carry her upstairs.
"Goodnight, munchkin." Rosalind kissed Kiana’s forehead before Zevian carefully picked her up in his arms. He took his laptop and glanced at Evelyn who nodded with a small smile, assuring him to join them once they were done with the work.
An hour later, Evelyn hugged Avery tightly, rewarding her for all the hard work before she went to their room. She opened the door to find Kiana nestled under the covers, soundly asleep. Her eyes roomed around to find Zevian on the balcony, his phone pressed to his ear.
With a smile, Evelyn made her way to him and wrapped her hands around his waist. Zevian smiled and turned around, hugging her back. Their eyes met and sharing a small smile, Evelyn nestled on his chest, letting him finish his call.
"Alright, I will look into it." Zevian ended the call with his client. Slipping his phone into his pocket, he hugged her properly, wrapping both of his hands around her.
After a few moments of silence, Evelyn looked up at him and asked softly, "Are you really okay?" She had been inquiring about it quite a few times, worried if he was be pretending to fine not to burden them further.
Zevian looked down at her and nodded. "I’m fine. You made everything better for us today."
Evelyn smiled softly, her heart easing as his eyes never lied to her. She was glad she could support him, especially on such an emotional day. "I am glad it ended on a peaceful note," she murmured before snuggling in his embrace.
After a brief pause, Zevian spoke again. "Let’s take Kiana out tomorrow. You will get busy in the coming days."
Evelyn shook her head gently. With a pout, she looked up at him and replied, "I already made plans to visit Wright Mansion tomorrow with Avery.
"Why?" Zevian frowned in confusion.
Evelyn sighed softly, her tangled issues with the Wright family weighing her mind. "We wanted to invite William to AWE’s first anniversary. Once Sophia finds my hidden identity, she will get even more cautious and perhaps will make a mistake. It might leave a clue or two to find answers to all my questions."
Zevian nodded thoughtfully, understanding her reasoning. He trusted Evelyn’s instincts and had heard from Avery how she had been desperately waiting to present herself as Grace to the world, to prove to William that she could fulfill Gracia’s wishes without his support and also mock Sophia with her success.
"Alright," he said, his voice tinged with concern. "Take John with you."
Evelyn smiled and nodded, "I will."

The next day, Evelyn and Avery arrived at Wright Mansion. They were greeted by the maids and head butler who asked them to settle before going to call their Master.
"Welcome," William said warmly, extending his hand toward Avery. "It’s been a while."
Avery nodded, shaking his hand before stepping aside for Evelyn. "Yes, it has been Uncle," Avery began, his tone polite but direct. "I wanted to officially invite you to my company’s first-anniversary event. It’s next weekend."
William’s eyes lit up with interest as he took the invitation from Avery. Evelyn sat beside Avery, her eyes observing every detail, every subtle shift in William’s expression. She knew he wouldn’t miss such a great opportunity to meet everyone else in their industry, considering how there were rumors their company was being backed by the Reign Cooperations.
"Evelyn," Sophia greeted with forced politeness. "What brings you here?"
"We are here to invite him to my company’s anniversary party, Aunt Sophie," Avery replied, her voice tinged with sarcasm. "I think you should come too. There will be lots of surprises for you." She added, her smile making Sophia stiffen slightly.
