Chapter 1070: Chapter 457: Old Married Couple

After finishing his words, Uncle Chen pulled up the corners of his mouth, revealing a gentle smile, and said, "Mr. Lu has been very kind to our family after all. He is truly a great person, Mrs. Lu... Indeed, I have spoken a bit too much today and overstepped, but these were all things I sincerely wanted to say to you from my heart."

Her gaze fell on the menu in front of her, yet not a single word registered. Scene of Uncle Chen’s words directly surfaced in Ning Wanwan’s mind, leaving her a bit stunned and her thoughts somewhat scattered.

Especially when he heard Uncle Chen say, "Mrs. Lu, Mr. Lu hasn’t been doing well these past few years, his body has had some issues because he’s always consumed in work. Now that you’ve returned to Mr. Lu’s side, I just hope you can continue to be with Mr. Lu always and not leave."

When these words directly reached her ears, for some reason, her heart suddenly hurt.

Collecting herself, she directly handed the menu to Uncle Chen, with a soft utterance, "I’ll seriously consider your words. Honestly, there are still many issues between us, so I can’t guarantee whether I will leave in the future, but... thank you for telling me this."

She didn’t provide a definite answer because even she wasn’t sure what would happen in the future, what would become of her relationship with Lu Jingchen.

Uncle Chen, having gone through his own experiences, naturally understood Song Qiao’s words, and smiled, "I understand, Mrs. Lu."

Eventually, forgoing the menu, Song Qiao directly instructed Uncle Chen to prepare two servings of seafood porridge which Lu Jingchen usually likes here, along with some side dishes.

Once Uncle Chen went into the kitchen to start preparations, Song Qiao sat there, tilting her head to look at the man standing outside making a phone call. Her gaze deepened, leaving her thoughts concealed.

Her hand directly rested on the table, propping up her chin, as Song Qiao watched the tall and upright figure of the man, beginning to daydream.

As if sensing Song Qiao’s gaze from behind, Lu Jingchen directly turned his head to look her way, their eyes instantly met.

Song Qiao met the man’s gaze; her lips curled into a slight arc naturally, blinking her eyes. Suddenly, the man whose face had been slightly displeased due to work issues seemed to soften immediately.

Perhaps because of Lu Jingchen, Uncle Chen quickly brought what he had prepared up. The seafood porridge emitted an alluring fragrance, causing Song Qiao, who had already eaten breakfast earlier, to feel a bit hungry. The small side dishes were in tiny plates, not much, but sufficient as pickles.

Uncle Chen also brought up two pieces of fried dough sticks, placing them directly in front of Song Qiao, and said, "Mrs. Lu, you can try our fried dough sticks here. Mr. Lu eats them every time he comes."

Song Qiao politely smiled at Uncle Chen, "Thank you."

Uncle Chen didn’t say much more and directly withdrew.

Probably seeing breakfast had been served, Lu Jingchen soon hung up the phone and came in directly; when his eyes fell on the two servings of seafood porridge on the table, he was a bit surprised and directly looked at the little woman sitting there, his expression softening a bit, "How did you know I like seafood porridge?"

The man’s voice carried a low, husky pleasantness.

Song Qiao directly picked up a ceramic spoon, scooped out the squid from her bowl, and placed it on the small dish beside her. For Lu Jingchen’s question, she continued scooping out the squid from her bowl, furrowing her brows without raising her head, and said, "I just asked the owner what you usually like to order here... Do you like eating squid?"

With that last question, her slightly dark eyes directly looked at him before asking.

Lu Jingchen sat down at the position opposite her, hummed softly, "Give the squid to me."

He knew Song Qiao didn’t like eating squid.

Song Qiao’s face immediately lit up with a radiant smile like the stars, and she quickly switched chopsticks to help Lu Jingchen pick out the squid.

At the table next door sat two young people, a couple. Probably because of Lu Jingchen and Song Qiao’s high appearances, they’ve been watching Song Qiao and Lu Jingchen; hearing their conversation and seeing their interaction, the girl immediately said to her boyfriend, "Look at them, I don’t like eating squid either, why won’t you take it when I give it to you?"

The boy glanced at Lu Jingchen, showing a bit of irritation, probably because his girlfriend was about to argue with him over Lu Jingchen’s behavior.

He pondered and replied, "They’re an old married couple; naturally, they won’t care about these..."

"You’re clearly complaining about me... And how did you even see they’re an old married couple?"

"I’m not complaining about you at all. If I were, I wouldn’t come out for breakfast with you?"

"You’re saying that coming for breakfast with me is so unwilling?"

"When was I unwilling? Don’t be unreasonable, please? Hurry and eat breakfast; otherwise, we’ll be late for work."

"You are unwilling..."

"I am not..."

Song Qiao blushed hearing the couple’s quarrel, raised her eyes to look at Lu Jingchen, slightly cocked her head, and asked with a smile, "Any thoughts?"

Lu Jingchen, seeing her, picked lean meat from his bowl and placed it in Song Qiao’s bowl, responding with something unrelated, "Quid pro quo."

Song Qiao, "..." This man was clearly playing dumb.

But noticing the faint smile on Lu Jingchen’s face, albeit a bit indistinct, she still caught it.

She knew this man was insincere, likely thrilled inside.

During breakfast, Song Qiao ate until her stomach was full, and afterward, Lu Jingchen drove her to the filmset.

Before getting out of the car, the man directly pulled her over, pinning her against the passenger seat, and kissed her aggressively. When he released her, he seized the opportunity to say, "Qiaoqiao, you can move out, but could you live in the place I arranged for you?"

Even though he trusted Song Qiao wouldn’t get involved with Chu Munan, he still felt uneasy about that man.

Song Qiao’s eyes were filled with confusion from the kiss, she looked up at Lu Jingchen, blinked, clearly seeing his thoughts, considered for a moment before nodding directly, "Okay."

As for Song Nianhuan, both Chu Munan and Ji Sifan said recently they have time, so they’ve stated they will take care of Huanhuan.

Though she felt a bit embarrassed, she could see the two men’s fondness for Huanhuan.
