Chapter 692: By A Man Named Vito

"Penny’s with them now," Hugo announced, slapping his phone against his palm as he walked back to his seat. "They will be staying with them for a while, and Penny already put bodyguards on everyone."

Hugo took his seat and glanced at everyone. "I don’t think we should invite them over to the Order for now... Penny said so. I also agree. If Yuri didn’t do anything until now, it means she also thinks acting too early would raise suspicion."

After watching the entire recording, they all came to the conclusion that this needed to be approached with care. If Yuri already knew this could potentially put Nina in danger, then taking action immediately might raise the stakes.

"I also agree," Allen nodded. "If the threat were immediate, I’m certain Yuri would’ve acted without waiting for these recordings to be found."

Not dwelling on that, Slater moved closer to Lola as she checked the other files. "Sis, what is it? Did you find anything?"

"I found a lot, Slater," Lola answered without looking at him. "Everything in this file includes things we already know and things we don’t. It’ll take some time."

"Let’s just work on it," Hugo stretched his arms before focusing on his laptop. "Yuri doesn’t trust anyone in the Order except First Brother and Allen. So that means we can’t ask anybody else to analyze this."

Allen’s face grimmed as he lowered his head, his expression darkening. "That means she’s already aware there’s a mole... or moles in the Order."

They had always suspected someone in the Order had turned their back on them. The first clue was when Allen had requested a DNA test with the twins and Lola, and the results came out negative.

Atlas ordered an investigation. However, everyone who handled the testing was cleared. So the possibility that it had been tampered with during transport rose. Moreover, Atlas ordered to let things play out first, but that didn’t mean they forgot about it.

Allen might not have said a word, but he had been worried since then. He couldn’t even bring it up to anyone, not even Sybil.

"Allen." Suddenly, Atlas’s cold voice echoed, snapping him out of his thoughts.

"Yes, sir?"

"Focus," Atlas said simply, eyes on the monitor in front of him as he checked the other files. "We already know that even when the majority of the people here and in the entire society accepted me, there were still those who, up to this day, didn’t like the idea."

He paused and lifted his gaze to his assistant. "Asking why a snake bit you when you did nothing wrong is foolish. It’s in their nature. Let’s get to work."

Allen pressed his lips together and nodded with a subtle smile. "Yes, sir."

"I’d better start a new board with this," Hugo pushed himself up, walking out to summarize everything.

Having said that, Atlas, Hugo, Slater, Allen, and Lola worked all night analyzing Yuri’s files. They already knew how this all started, and all they needed to do was follow the trails Yuri had left in each file without guessing where it was going.

Surely, everything in these files was important and informative.

Yuri’s investigation started with Lola, which led her to the twins being taken to Atlas. This inevitably led her to the baby-swapping case of Nina and Penny. Then Yuri also uncovered the infighting between the original Zorken heirs: Nathalie, Noel, and Naylani.

It was a lot of work and a lot of brainpower, and at one point, all five of them were amazed that Yuri had been able to piece everything together.

No wonder she was respected in the Order and earned the title of one of the greatest detectives. She had handled complicated cases around the globe. Even Hugo and Mint—the former head of Homeland Security in Anteca—would go to her for help on some of their missions.

"Yuri is surely on a different caliber," Slater muttered, the bags under his eyes dark as he groggily turned to the window. "But if I kept working like her, I don’t think I’d have a career to go back to."

Not just Slater, but Allen and Lola were mentally exhausted.

The files weren’t arranged properly, and each piece of information needed to be analyzed. Their brainpower had been at an all-time high all night.

"I feel like I’d end up like her if we keep this up," Allen muttered, reaching for his mug of coffee, only to notice the other empty mugs near his laptop.

Lola yawned, fighting her exhaustion. "No wonder she’s always tired in her photos," she said mid-yawn. "The level of brainpower she uses as a teacher and a detective is insane."

Unlike them, Atlas kept his focus and continued working, while Hugo calmly fixed the board near his First Brother. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

"The three of you should rest first," Hugo chuckled, glancing at them. "We’ve been like this all night and... it’s almost morning."

Slater didn’t waste a second and pushed himself up. "These things don’t give us a break—aight, I’ll sleep first. Good night. Or good morning?"

As he walked away, Allen watched him go and then turned to his boss.

"Just go," Hugo jerked his chin toward the door. "Rest is productive too, so just rest. We can’t figure this out even if you stay up another hour."

"I’ll just take a nap," Allen said, lowering his head before rising to his feet. "I’ll be back."

He quietly left to rest. As for Lola, she leaned forward and rested her arms on the table.

"First Sister, you should go back and sleep as well," Hugo suggested while facing the board. "Kiara is with the children, so you can sleep."

"I’m alright, Hugo," she said, peeking at him. "I’ll just take a power nap and then leave to make the kids pancakes."

Hugo looked back at her and smiled. "I guess this is where I shut up, right?"

"When you become a parent, Hugo, you’ll understand," Lola hummed, her eyes falling on her husband. "Baby, how about you?"

Atlas paused and turned to her. He reached out and ruffled her hair gently.

"I’ll wake you up," he said softly. "And help you with breakfast."

"Mhm." She smiled, about to close her eyes, when a quiet knock came at the door.

The three of them turned, eyes on it.

"I’ll get it," Hugo said, walking over and opening the door slightly. When he saw the person outside, his brows knitted. "You are...?"

"Ransom, sir," Ransom stood straight. "I was told the Madam is here. I have to report something to her."

"And that is...?"

Ransom pressed his lips together before answering bravely, "I’m sorry, but this report is only for her."

"Ah..."

"It’s alright, Hugo." Lola had already walked over. "I hope you don’t mind."

Hugo shrugged. "I’m not part of this Order, so don’t worry."

He stepped aside, letting Lola speak with Ransom while he returned to work.

"What is it?" Lola asked.

"Madam, the reports on the pills Long asked me to give you came out," Ransom said, handing her a paper. "Aside from identifying what they are, Florida also looked into them and found they were distributed by one organization."

Lola’s brows knitted. "Who?"

"An organization run by a man named Vito."
