The Billionaire Stands Up for Me-Chapter 163: The Bride’s First Time in the Bridal Sedan
"Then what?" He looked at me, still smiling, seemingly teasing me on purpose, "You don’t want me to stay here?"
His question made my face flush and tongue tied, so I turned on my heel and walked away, "I don’t care where you stay, you can sleep on the street for all I care."
He caught up to me and took my hand, "If you’re with me, I’d sleep on the street or even in a pigsty."
"Who’s going to sleep in a pigsty with you!"
I tried to break free from his hand, but instead, he pressed close, directly encircling my waist, pulling my body tightly against his.
My heart raced instantly, and I caught the familiar scent of forest and grass on him, along with the blush-inducing scent of male hormones.
Suddenly, I couldn’t utter a single strong word.
I’m realizing more and more that Daniel Carter, on the surface, is a gentleman, polite and refined.
Indeed, beneath the tenderness lies strength, in elegance hides dominance.
Any slight hint of his strength and dominance leaves no room for retreat or refusal.
Like now, his strong hand grips my waist tightly, as if holding half of my life.
No amount of cleverness or strength can be used at this moment.
Once inside the elevator, he straightforwardly said, "Go pack up your things and clothes to change, come with me to the top floor."
I was stunned, turning back to look at him, "Top floor?"
"Yes, the presidential suite."
As expected, my guess was spot on.
Whenever Second Master Carter travels, the presidential suite is a given, how could he possibly stay in a standard room.
Wennie Lane doesn’t need to worry about sleeping on the street tonight.
But just... leaving her to her own devices like this, I’m sure she’ll take the chance to tease me.
I weakly protested, "With Wennie here, isn’t it... not proper?"
"Ha," Daniel Carter smiled faintly, "Wennie Lane isn’t a three-year-old, why put on a show in front of her?"
Frustrated, I slapped his chest, "Who’s putting on a show."
He continued smiling, "I’ll accompany you, if she teases, let her tease me instead."
Seems like he understands everything.
Out of the elevator, Daniel Carter indeed came with me back to the room.
Considering Wennie Lane was inside, for safety’s sake, I called from outside the door.
"Wennie, I’m back, are you... still sleeping?" From inside, Wennie Lane must have heard me speaking at the door, because she quickly came over to open it.
"Why didn’t you—ah! Wait!"
She pulled the door open abruptly, with a face mask on, dressed in pajamas, but stopped mid-sentence upon seeing Daniel Carter beside me and immediately screamed, slamming the door shut.
"Lily Miller! How could you bring someone back without a word!" Inside, Wennie Lane screamed.
The call hadn’t ended, I chuckled wryly, "I called to check if you’re properly dressed, who knew you’d be in such a rush to open the door."
The room echoed with screams.
I turned back to look at Daniel Carter, his expression slightly embarrassed, his fist partially covering a cough, obviously trying to hide it.
I stifled a giggle, "You said you wanted to accompany me."
"..."
Soon, with her mask removed and clothes changed, Wennie Lane opened the door again.
"Sorry, kept you waiting." She indeed started teasing, pulling me aside quietly asking, "What’s the deal? Why’d you bring Mr. Carter here? Are you two really spending the night here?"
I cast an annoyed glance at my best friend, "In your dreams!"
"Heh heh, wouldn’t dare to assume..."
Daniel Carter, following behind us, felt compelled to explain, "Uh... I’m accompanying Lily Miller to grab her clothes."
I: "..."
Who asked him to spill it so quickly!
"Oh~" Wennie Lane immediately elongated her tone, glancing back at Daniel Carter then tugging my arm, "Abandoning your girlfriend for a man?"
"Let’s just eat!" Embarrassed to reply, I handed her the food box I was holding.
Wennie Lane sat aside eating, watching me pack clothes to change, toiletries, even my laptop and work documents, clicking her tongue in wonder, "You plan not to come back for the next few days?"
I quickly denied, "No, when you move back to your room, I’ll come back."
Wennie Lane protested again, "What do mean? You’ll sleep with Mr. Carter but not with me?"
"Wennie Lane!"
In front of Daniel Carter, she dares to say anything, do I not need my dignity.
Daniel Carter stood aside, with a slight smile, his expression somewhat awkward.
While eating, Wennie Lane went on teasing Daniel Carter, "Mr. Carter, Lily Miller is really busy tomorrow, you must be gentle with her, don’t wear her out."
"Wennie Lane!" I was desperate to stuff a pillow in her mouth.
Daniel Carter replied earnestly, "The presidential suite has more than one bedroom, Miss Lane need not worry."
"Oh..." Wennie Lane elongated her tone again, nodding, then abruptly asked, "How does Mr. Carter resist? With Lily Miller’s looks and figure, I couldn’t hold up even as a female, you actually can... mmm mmm mmm."
Not waiting for her to finish, I turned around, covering her mouth.
"Mmm, mmm..." Wennie Lane clawed at my hand, still trying to speak, "Why cover my mouth... It’s true, you’re both adults... isn’t dating supposed to skip straight to the point? Lily Miller, with a top-notch gentleman like Mr. Carter, you must quickly snag him! Completely snag... mmm mmm mmm – You’re covering too tightly, I can’t breathe, Mr. Carter help me, help me—"
I was on the verge of collapse.
"Wennie Lane, don’t say it! Otherwise, I’ll stop being friends with you!" My face flushed with urgency, feeling so embarrassed as if I had grown fur, not daring to turn back and see Daniel Carter’s reaction.
"Alright, alright... I won’t say it. Let go, I’m about to suffocate—"
"Ugh, ugh, ugh! Say something auspicious for the New Year!" I promptly corrected her, then let go.
Daniel Carter stood by, visibly struggling to hold back his laughter, his handsome face also showing a hint of awkward redness.
I timidly glanced at him, having almost packed up everything, I hurriedly said, "Let’s go, let’s go..."
Seeing I had a lot to carry, Daniel Carter stepped forward to help.
I shrugged my elbow, "There’s no need! I can handle it!"
As we walked to the entrance, Wennie Lane shouted from behind, "Take it easy! A big girl on her wedding sedan for the first time! Mr. Carter, remember to be gentle~"
"Wennie Lane!"
"Hahahahaha—"
The door closed, but it couldn’t shut out the wild laughter of my sarcastic friend inside.
Seeing my hurried steps as if a beast were chasing us, Daniel Carter couldn’t help but laugh.
"You still laugh! It’s all your fault!" I turned to lash out.
He didn’t argue, came forward, and took the items I was hugging, "Your relationship is so good, there’s nothing embarrassing about this, it’ll happen sooner or later anyway."
What?
Sooner or later anyway?
I pondered over those words, then glanced at him with a subtle meaning.
Ever since Amanda Gordon caused a scene at the Little New Year party, my reputation has been cleared.
Everyone in the circle knows that even though Adrian Gordon and I were together for six years, I am still unblemished, which somehow put me in an awkward spot.
Originally, it was a good thing, somewhat restoring my reputation, letting outsiders know I’m a self-respecting woman.
But at the same time, it’s like a chastity arch pressing down, making me more cautious around Daniel Carter.
Now he says "sooner or later anyway", making me even more nervous and uneasy.
Should it be sooner, or later?
I was so distracted by my messy thoughts that I didn’t even notice he had already led me into the presidential suite.
Looking at the luxurious spacious space and the professionally equipped private butler, I snapped back to reality, quickly dismissing the cluttered thoughts in my mind.
"So... which room do I sleep in?"
"Of course, the master bedroom." Daniel Carter pointed with his hand.
I immediately carried my clothes inside.
Looking at the comfortable and romantic big bed in the master bedroom, I suddenly realized something was off, swiftly turning back, "Wait a minute, if I sleep in the master bedroom, then where do you sleep—"
He followed me into the master bedroom.
As I turned around in confusion, he gently leaned against the door panel with his back, closing the door, and continued my sentence: "I obviously sleep in the master bedroom too."
What?
I fixed my eyes on his deep, smiling gaze, realizing I had fallen into a trap, my tongue suddenly tangled, "Then... then we—"
"We are just simply sleeping, where did your thoughts go?" He stepped closer, his tone low, as if coming from his chest, "Or are you thinking... of something different happening?"
My gaze scattered, knowing what he was about to do, my heart raced to the point of jumping out of my throat.
"No, I don’t want that. But just now you said... there’s a spare room—"
"There is a spare room, but others are staying there, so you can only sleep in the master bedroom with me." He was still low and gentle, each word incredibly tender.
As the words settled, his hand hooked my chin, forcing me to look up at him.
I swallowed, my mind still retaining some rationality, and asked, "Those people with you, even when sleeping, they have to supervise?" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
"Of course, it involves confidential security, must ensure everything is foolproof."
"..." I didn’t answer, but inside I felt again that I had caused trouble for him.
A person of his status should not go abroad unless absolutely necessary.
But for me...
"Lily... Have you finished asking your questions?" he whispered as if murmuring, then before I could answer, his handsome charming face pressed down towards me.
I instinctively leaned back, but his palm settled on the back of my neck, warm and strong, preventing my escape.
Lips met lips, for an instant it felt like an electric current flowed between our breaths, making my whole body tremble slightly.
He didn’t close his eyes, feeling my reaction, his eyes filled with fragmented light carrying a dense smile.
I blushed even more, my heart pounding like a drumbeat.
Daniel Carter’s kiss was very gentlemanly, very gentle, yet very seductive, very lingering.
All strength seemed to be drained from my limbs, gradually even the clothes I was holding began to slip.
He noticed, freed a hand to take the clothes, throwing them onto the bed.
I let out a soft gasp, actually unconsciously.
But he thought something was wrong with me, quickly stopped, and asked with his eyes.
I lowered my eyelashes, only breathing, unable to utter a word.
He understood, his smile even more wickedly charming, suddenly bent down and carried me horizontally, taking just a few steps to the large bed, laying me down.
I lay there, feeling dreamy, everything seemed unreal.
He kneeled at the bed’s edge, his tall, majestic body hovering over me like Mount Tai, until his lips once again sought out my breath...
