Chapter 679: Chapter 679: Pretending to Have a Miscarriage

Stella Monroe knew Henry Stanton too well. Once Henry had already made his decision and even arranged to have her locked up, he wouldn’t change his mind easily.

Her lifelong wish was to take Stanton Group from Luna Monroe’s hands and to develop the company better than when it was under Stella’s control.

What she wanted wasn’t money, but to surpass Luna Monroe.

This was her obsession.

But if Henry Stanton sold the company, those old bastards in the company would definitely band together, and then it would be tough for her to take them down one by one.

Stella Monroe laughed and cried, laughing at herself for having bet on the wrong choice and chosen such a wrong path.

After a while, Stella finally thought of Felix Jennings.

She took out her phone and quickly dialed Felix Jennings’ number.

"Hey, Felix! Check how much cash we can withdraw from our overseas company accounts."

On the other end, Felix Jennings asked curiously, "Why the sudden check?"

"Don’t ask so many questions, just go check."

"Alright." Felix Jennings obeyed immediately and soon sent over a string of numbers.

Stella Monroe looked at those numbers and felt slightly reassured.

As long as no one offered a higher price, she could still take over Stanton Group.

However, she had to divorce Henry Stanton first; otherwise, half of the company’s assets would still belong to him, and she couldn’t make such a loss.

At that moment, Stella suddenly regretted pretending to be pregnant.

In such a critical moment, if she admitted to her fake pregnancy, Henry Stanton would kill her for sure. She couldn’t reveal it, and at her age, she couldn’t actually have a child either.

The next moment, Stella’s eyes suddenly lit up.

Right! There’s still Summer Monroe!

She could pretend to have a miscarriage by using Summer!

...

Crestfall University.

Out of nowhere, Summer Monroe suddenly sneezed.

She rubbed her nose and continued to edit the message to her subordinates.

"Old Madam Stanton is dead, spread the news, and find a way to let them know how well Henry Stanton is living in Crestfall. Let them know the Stanton family is not unable to pay their wages but simply doesn’t want to, trying to renege on the debt."

After sending the message, a cup of water appeared in front of her.

"Hey, could I treat you to some water?"

Summer looked up to see an unfamiliar guy, with a few others not far away whistle teasingly.

She shook her head apologetically, "Thanks, I’m not thirsty."

The guy scratched his head, blushing, and left awkwardly.

Holly Holloway smiled and came over with a tease, "How many people offered you water in this gym class?"

Summer shrugged, "That’s why I don’t like PE class."

Holly nudged and asked, "Among those who offered you water, there are two pretty good-looking ones. I heard they said they are campus heartthrobs. Didn’t any of them catch your eye?"

Summer shook her head, "I’m not interested in that."

"Okay." Holly sat down next to her, asking, "The message you sent me last night, you never answered my last question. Have you seen a psychologist? Could it be you have the same issue as me?"

"Not yet, do you know any psychologist?"

"Yeah, I’ve been seeing one, and it’s much better now. The gym class is done, and it’s time to finish, want me to take you?"

"Sure." Summer nodded.

She needed to see one as soon as possible.

Every time she sees Damian Knight, her heart races, and she fears that if she continues living with him for a few more days, she’d suffer a heart attack and die suddenly.

She hadn’t avenged her mother yet; she couldn’t die just like that.
