The Billionaire CEO Wants to Marry Me Every Day-Chapter 523: Compensation
This situation was something Mio Osborne had never anticipated.
He opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but found his throat blocked as if he couldn’t utter a single word.
"Ha—" Summer Monroe sneered.
Mio Osborne was provoked by Summer Monroe’s laughter.
For a moment, he lost his rationality.
At this moment, Henry Stanton, dressed in mourning attire, came over and asked, "Sadie, who are these two?"
Summer Monroe hadn’t answered yet when Mio Osborne grabbed Henry Stanton’s arm and asked, "Sir? Is there really a funeral happening here? Aren’t you just acting?"
"Acting?" Henry Stanton’s face turned green, "My daughter has passed away, and you say I’m fucking acting?!"
To those who don’t need flattering, Henry Stanton’s words are never pleasant.
Mio Osborne was suddenly blocked, and another nerve in his brain snapped.
Principal Payne hurriedly stepped forward, pulled Mio Osborne back, and apologized, "Sorry, sorry! Are you Summer Monroe’s parent? We are teachers from Crestfall University, and upon hearing the news, we came to offer our condolences. These are the flowers we brought."
"Teachers from Crestfall University?"
Henry Stanton glanced up and down at the two of them, his expression finally easing as he accepted the flowers from Principal Payne and said, "Thank you for coming. But what’s going on with your other teacher? Why did he say we’re acting?"
Mio Osborne, having calmed down from his impulsiveness, was filled with regret and embarrassment, momentarily at a loss for words.
Principal Payne helped by saying, "Professor Osborne made a mistake, it’s a misunderstanding," prompting Mio Osborne to find his voice, "Yes, yes, it’s a misunderstanding."
"Misunderstanding?" Summer Monroe ruthlessly tore down Mio Osborne’s last veil of dignity, saying, "Professor Osborne, I call you teacher, but have you ever treated me like a student? The first time, you wrongly accused me of pouring water on Willow Grant at the classroom door. The second time, you said I, the victim, incited a fight. The third time, you claimed I lied, using a fake family bereavement as an excuse. Professor Osborne, do you really deserve to be a teacher?"
Mio Osborne’s face turned green.
Henry Stanton’s expression became ugly again upon hearing these words.
"As a teacher... is this how you treat our Sadie? Do you need me to provide a death certificate for my second daughter before you’ll allow her to take leave?"
"I, I... I didn’t mean that." Mio Osborne stammered.
For the first time, he felt so helpless, unsure where to place his hands and feet, helplessly looking to Principal Payne for help.
Principal Payne wished he could pretend not to know Mio Osborne.
But he had no choice; they were teachers from his school, so he had to speak up.
He apologetically said, "I’m very sorry, Summer Monroe’s parent. This is entirely our fault. When we return to school, I will have Professor Osborne apologize to Summer Monroe in front of all the students."
Henry Stanton waved his hand, "Forget it, forget it. It’s a funeral today, I don’t want to argue with you. But in the future, I don’t want my daughter to suffer such unfair treatment again. Also, I require compensation for my daughter’s emotional distress!"
Such a thing was the first time he had heard of it.
If he had known earlier, he should have asked them for compensation long ago.
Mio Osborne felt the suspicious looks from other guests around and, biting his lip, asked helplessly and awkwardly, "How much compensation do you need? I can give it to you now."
Henry Stanton directly stated a figure, "One hundred thousand!"
