Chapter 734: Chapter 775: Sienna Johnson, Have You Ever Loved Me?

Seeing she couldn’t avoid Adrian, Sienna Johnson said to Kiki, "You go first. I’ll find you later."

"Alright."

Kiki left with Adolph Desmond. When she saw Adrian Desmond’s angry face, she worriedly looked back at Sienna Johnson every few steps. Adolph Desmond sighed and said, "Alright, do you think the Sixth Master would actually harm his own wife?"

"But his face looks so terrifying. Maybe he really will."

"Even if the Sixth Master did want to harm her, you staying there wouldn’t be of any help. Come, let’s go see the food for the wedding and if there are any changes needed."

Adolph Desmond dragged Kiki away. Before leaving, he couldn’t help but take another look at the two of them. He saw they were obviously keeping their distance, clearly still in a cold war.

...

In the garden, only Sienna Johnson and Adrian Desmond remained. The wind blew from the lake, filling the entire garden with the refreshing scent of lotus flowers.

Adrian Desmond looked at Sienna Johnson. She sat there with her head lowered, a strand of hair falling across her face. It made his hands itch with the urge to tuck it behind her ear. She didn’t look at him, clearly still upset with him. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"I heard you didn’t eat much today. Is it because the food prepared by the kitchen didn’t suit your taste?" Adrian Desmond asked.

"It has nothing to do with the kitchen’s food. I just didn’t have an appetite."

Adrian Desmond sat down beside Sienna Johnson and picked up a damaged rose. "Did these flowers offend you? Did you cut all their heads off?"

"I got distracted. Before I knew it, I’d ruined all these flowers." Sienna Johnson looked at the table full of ruined flower stems; they were no longer suitable for arranging.

"What were you thinking about so deeply?"

"I was thinking about my home in Sileria City..."

Adrian Desmond’s face turned cold, and the rose in his hand fell to the ground. The two remained silent for a while.

He had planted large swathes of lotus flowers in the lake just for her.

The whole garden was filled with the fragrance of lotus flowers, Sienna Johnson’s favorite. His favorite scent, however, was the unique fragrance of her body.

"The paternity test results are out. The Mr. Carpenter you suspected is actually my uncle," Adrian Desmond told Sienna Johnson.

"Then congratulations to the Sixth Master!" Her indifferent tone indicated she wasn’t surprised by the result at all.

"Do you still doubt my uncle?"

"What good would my doubt do?" Sienna Johnson said, her voice soft and slightly mocking.

Sienna Johnson sat on a bamboo chair, picked up a flower, and began plucking its petals one by one, without even glancing at Adrian Desmond.

"Melanie Carpenter wasn’t the one who drugged me, so why are you still upset with me?"

When someone had drugged Adrian Desmond, both he and Sienna Johnson had sent people to investigate, only to find two different results.

Adrian Desmond found that Melanie Carpenter’s cousin, Bella Ford, was responsible, while Lucas Robertson discovered that it was Melanie Carpenter herself.

Sienna Johnson couldn’t trust Adrian Desmond anymore.

Bella Ford was one of Melanie Carpenter’s people. So why didn’t Adrian Desmond consider that even if Bella Ford did it, Melanie Carpenter must have instructed her? How was that different from Melanie Carpenter drugging him herself?

Adrian Desmond’s determination to protect Melanie Carpenter was something Sienna Johnson couldn’t accept, which was why she didn’t want to talk to him.

Because once a man is determined to protect a woman, whatever I say is useless.

The test results showed Elliot Carpenter was indeed his uncle. Sienna Johnson could tell from Adrian Desmond’s rushed arrival and the joyful expression on his face that he was pleased with the outcome.

Such is the nature of men: once they obtain what they desire, they crave even more.

First, he married Melanie Carpenter but still wanted me. Now that he has me, he feels guilty towards Melanie Carpenter and his uncle...

Elliot Carpenter was taking advantage of Adrian Desmond’s guilt to plot against me; I would be in a very passive position.

Sienna Johnson subconsciously touched her large belly; she realized she could no longer wholeheartedly trust Adrian Desmond.

"After Kiki’s wedding, my family and I will return to Sileria City." This was not a negotiation but a decision Sienna Johnson was informing Adrian Desmond of.

Seeing Adrian Desmond’s face grow darker, she gently explained, "I’ve been away for so long. Always directing them through video conferences isn’t a long-term solution... They need me there."

Adrian Desmond stared at her. "What about me?"

"You chose to marry into our Johnson family. If you want to return to Sileria City with me, that would be for the best. But if you’d rather stay in Abyanabad, I won’t force you."

Adrian Desmond’s heart ached with a sharp pain. "So, I gave you a son, and now I’m worthless? Is that it? Are you trying to kick me out?"

...

"Sienna Johnson, you’re always so selfish! He’s my uncle, my own uncle, like a father to me! If I severed ties with him, would that make you happy?"

"My investigation showed Melanie Carpenter didn’t drug me, but you don’t believe me. Would you be satisfied only if it turned out she *did* drug me?"

"Yes! I’m just that selfish! You knew that long ago, didn’t you? Now that you have me, you think marrying me wasn’t worth it, is that it?" Sienna Johnson felt a pang in her chest and, bristling with defiance, retorted.

"What do you want me to do?"

"Sixth Master, you already know what I want. Is there any point in repeating it?" Sienna Johnson said coldly.

Adrian Desmond’s Adam’s apple bobbed. After a few seconds, he enunciated each word, "He’s my uncle. For you, I could break my vow and not marry Melanie Carpenter, but I will not sever ties with my uncle for you!"

...

"Whether my uncle has ulterior motives towards me is my business! He hasn’t done anything to wrong you!"

Sienna Johnson plucked the last petal. An odd number. Odd numbers bring bad luck. "I understand. I won’t meddle in your affairs again."

"If your uncle wants to beat you to death, and you’re willing to let him, that’s your business. It has nothing to do with anyone else."

"I was overthinking things, meddling, and making myself disliked. I won’t do it again."

Sienna Johnson’s words choked Adrian Desmond, leaving him unable to speak. This was not the outcome he wanted.

"That’s not what I meant!"

"Sixth Master, is there anything else? If not, I’m going back." She looked at him, her gaze calm, as if looking at a stranger.

His bloodshot eyes stared intently at her. Did she ever truly love me? he wondered. Otherwise, why could she control her emotions so easily? When I treated her well, she’d give me a smile. But if I showed the slightest sign of wavering, she’d become this cold, ready to abandon me at any moment.

"Sienna Johnson, have you ever loved me?"
