Chapter 676: Chapter 717: Do You Believe I’ll Beat You Up?

"Stop it! Do you believe I’ll actually hit you?"

Sienna Johnson watched Adrian Desmond raise his fist and froze for a moment. Then, tears began to surge from her eyes, like a dam bursting.

The man’s raised fist didn’t land on her, but Sienna’s fist struck Adrian squarely.

If what happened before could be called playful bickering, this was now a real fight.

"You hit me? Adrian, you’ve really got some nerve! You’d hit a woman now!"

"..."

"...Oh, I forgot, Sixth Master hits women too. It’s not surprising that you’d hit me."

Sienna’s condemning and disappointed tone wounded Adrian, and his face darkened. "When did I ever hit you?"

"Go on, hit me! Beat me to death then! It’s not like you care if I live or die anyway."

Sienna continued to hit Adrian. He talked tough, but it was only to try and scare her. He pushed her inside, into the greenhouse, so his men wouldn’t see his sorry state.

Once inside the greenhouse, Adrian’s attitude softened. He spoke gently, "Stop hitting. It doesn’t hurt me at all, but your hand will definitely swell up later..."

He just stood there, letting her hit him.

"Bastard! You’re a bastard!"

"Alright, I’m a bastard! Why are you getting angry with a bastard like me?"

Sienna was crying her heart out. Her sobs made Adrian’s heart feel like it was caught in the endless, dreary rain of a subtropical wet season. "Don’t cry," he urged, his voice softening. "Look, your eyes are all swollen from crying."

"Tell me, what are you going to do? Are you just going to throw your life away like this?"

Adrian pursed his lips and stood there, silent, his expression one of stubborn resolve. This infuriated Sienna.

"Go! Go on, if you want to die, I won’t stop you! Get the hell out!"

She was only saying it in anger, but Adrian actually started walking out of the greenhouse. Sienna faltered for a moment, then shouted, "Adrian, you bastard! I’m going back to Sileria City! I never want to see you again!"

"Wasn’t it you who asked me to leave?"

"I want you to die, why don’t you just go die then?"

"Fine, then I’ll go die!"

Sienna was left speechless and exasperated by the stubborn man. Looking at this clueless, unromantic man, she could no longer hold back. She turned her back and began to sob, "SOB... SOB..."

"I really don’t know what you’re crying about! You hit me, you cursed me, you told me to get lost! I’m doing what you said, and you’re *still* crying?"

"SOB... SOB..."

"Still crying? Do you even have the nerve to cry?"

"..."

"What are you crying for? It’s not like I hit you," Adrian said, exasperated.

"You yelled at me... SOB... SOB..." Sienna choked out between sobs, her shoulders trembling. She looked so wronged that anyone who didn’t know the truth would have thought he’d done something terrible to her, that he’d bullied her. Heaven knew, he was the one being bullied to death.

"Why was I harsh with you? Don’t you know?"

"I don’t know!"

"Do you have any idea how dangerous that was just now? What if you had fallen?" Adrian admonished, a fresh wave of fear washing over him as he recalled her reckless behavior.

"So, I was in danger, and you got angry. If *you* were in danger, should I set off firecrackers to celebrate?" she retorted sarcastically, her tone aggressive.

"What nonsense are you talking about?"

"I just wanted to make you stay!" Sienna shouted at him.

"If you didn’t want me to go, you could have just told me properly. Why resort to jumping off the building?" Seeing she was safe and sound, the knot in Adrian’s chest finally loosened. His anger had already been extinguished by her tears. "What are you crying for now? If your mom sees this, she’ll scold me again."

"I know what you’re planning to do," she said.

She looked at him with her red, tear-filled eyes. "Promise me, don’t go!"

Adrian avoided her gaze. His eyes flickered for a moment before he looked away, saying evasively, "I’m just going out to discuss some business. What’s all the fuss about?"

"You don’t have to lie to me; I know everything... I’m sorry about what happened just now. I shouldn’t have lost my temper with you. Those were just angry words, please don’t take them to heart. And please, don’t be impulsive and do something reckless without thinking about the consequences!"

"I just..." Adrian frowned, his gaze falling to her ankle. He was fixated on the idea of a love token. This woman was his, from head to toe. How could she wear something given by another man? Especially since that bastard Night Owl also wore one on his ankle.

This anklet was like a thorn in his heart, making him deeply uncomfortable.

"Love token? What love token? It’s just a listening device." Sienna, noticing Adrian staring at her anklet, waved her foot disdainfully.

"My stomach doesn’t feel well. Carry me back," Sienna said, her voice thick with tears.

Adrian didn’t say anything, just scooped her up around the waist. Sienna nestled in his arms, her eyes closed.

They didn’t speak again until they returned to their room.

Sienna had gone out barefoot, and the rooftop was somewhat dirty, so the soles of her feet were smudged. Adrian went to the bathroom, wet a towel, wrung it out, and gently wiped her feet clean.

Throughout the entire process, Sienna’s gaze never left him. After Adrian put the towel back in the bathroom, he looked up and met her eyes, which were still fixed on him.

"Why are you looking at me like that? As if I’m about to abandon you."

"I already apologized."

"And then..."

"You haven’t forgiven me yet!"

Adrian was both amused and exasperated. When had this usually serious woman learned to be so playfully defiant? "Just because you apologized, does that mean I have to forgive you?"

"So, you’re not going to forgive me then?"

Adrian sat down beside her. Sienna immediately leaned over and rested her head on his shoulder. "You said your stomach was hurting just now. Does it still hurt?"

"It won’t hurt if you rub it for me."

"Lie down!"

Sienna lay down. Her belly, now quite prominent, resembled a small, pointed hill. Adrian slipped his hand under her skirt and gently massaged her stomach. The baby inside, sensing Adrian’s touch, began to stir.

No matter how many times he witnessed the baby’s movements, Adrian still felt a thrill of excitement.

"Son, it’s Daddy. I’m giving you a massage. Does that feel good?"

"..."

"Your mom got angry today. She was so fierce! Did she scare you? ... Mommy scared Daddy too. It’s really terrible when Mommy loses her temper. When you’re born, you absolutely must not be naughty. Your mom is terrifying when she’s angry!"

Sienna giggled, then chided playfully, "What kind of Husband are you, badmouthing me in front of our son like that? I’m warning you, if our son doesn’t like me, it’ll be all your fault!"

"Don’t worry. You know how they say opposites attract? Compared to me, his dad, he’ll definitely like you more."
