The Betrayed Heiress's Second Comeback-Chapter 56: Ch : Getting into Entertainment Business
Jenna’s pov
The sudden pain in my neck made me flinch and Damian immediately pulled back. His expression looked...satisfied as he looked at my neck. I could not see a single hint of regret on his face.
His chest rose and fell slower, like he was savoring the sight.
Not only that, but I swore that his eyes were shining and he almost wanted...more. His fingers twitched at his side as if he was stopping himself from grabbing me again.
"Ouch~ It hurts."
My voice sounded a little strained and my stomach did a weird flip-flop as I held my hand to my neck. My face burned and I noticed that it was rather red in the mirror.
I angled the mirror away quickly, hoping Damian wouldn’t see how rattled I looked.
’I...look like a tomato...’
Damian’s eyes were fixed on my neck...more specifically, on the place he had bitten me. Not a single ounce of guilt could be seen on his face, neither did he clarify his actions.
His breathing deepened, the corner of his mouth twitching like he wanted to smile.
"Boss....we are here..."
The driver pulled into our second destination’s driveway and Damian opened the door for me before he extended his hand toward me.
I gave him a look, my hand still held against my neck to hide the mark he had left. But Damian shook his extended hand to tell me to take it.
His eyebrows lifted impatiently, silently daring me to refuse him.
"Let’s get going, Jenna. Did you not want to get all the contracts done today? If you keep dwindling like this, then we won’t get anything done today."
Damian was...teasing me? Did he truly think it was a good idea for me to show my face in public with a visible mark on my neck.
But from the looks of things...
"Can you get someone to get me a scarf or...something to cover this mark?"
I asked, only for Damian’s smile to widen even more.
He leaned in closer, eyes flicking briefly to my lips before returning to my neck again.
"But that would take too long. We don’t have much time. Besides, it’s just a small mark. Showing this much would only make our relationship look even stronger in public eye, right? What’s a mark or two between fiancés. Besides, we have done something even more intimate, right?"
I felt my jaw drop on the ground as I heard Damian speak.
There was not a single hint of embarrassment on his face, but I could not help but feel my face become hotter by the second.
I swatted his arm lightly in warning, but he didn’t even flinch.
"Y-You..."
’How could you say all this in the open like this? Do you not have shame...?’
I wanted to ask Damian, but my words won’t come out. Moreover, a small part of my brain was beginning to agree with Damian as well over this point.
’He is right. A small mark between lovers is nothing. And it would be a good idea to give the journalists something to talk about....’
"I guess...it won’t be a bad idea to have people talk about us a little while longer."
In hindsight, it was not a good decision. But Damian managed to convince me to follow him out.
The driver gave me pitiful looks from the seat, but ultimately, his job was much more important to him than voicing his concerns for strangers. So as soon as I was out, he immediately took off.
"Now miss, shall we go?"
Damian offered me his hand and I followed him. Somewhere behind us, the sound of a camera going off was heard. The paparazzi were already on to us but that did not bother me as much as it should have.
Damian subtly shifted closer, blocking the crowd’s view of my back as we walked like he had rehearsed it.
The whole day, I received more than a few awkward glances. People kept looking at my neck, making me regret having agreed to Damian’s advice.
But one look at Damian’s satisfied expression made me lose my anger. He looked smug and...satisfied.
Every time someone stared, his hand tightened on my waist like he was proudly showing me off.
’Oh well. If he’s satisfied, then I guess I can put up with this for a while. After all, he is helping me out a lot here.’
And no, this had nothing to do with the fact that a part of me liked this attention as well. I ignored the part of me that told me I liked being marked and being told that I belonged to someone.
I had been ignored for a lot of years, so the new attention and possessiveness felt...good....yeah, that was it.

We quickly finished our deals and went back home. Our next step into the entertainment industry was to scout out the people we wanted to recruit.
I had made a list of possible people I wanted to scout 2 years ago, but the industry was so fast acting that the list might as well be useless by now. So I needed to start on another list.
While I was watching through the audition videos of the trainees, someone knocked at my door. I thought I heard the sound faintly but because I had headphones on, I was not so sure about that.
I was immersed in the acting of the young talent in front of me, so I did not notice when another presence came inside and stood beside me.
A hand landed on my shoulder and I immediately felt static shock go through me. I almost had a heart attack before I looked back...and let out a sigh of relief.
My hand flew up on instinct to smack the intruder away, stopping only when I recognized Damian’s scent.
"Sorry, did I startle you? I did not mean to do that."
Damian told me as his hand kept hovering in the air. He had touched the naked part of my shoulder and I could still feel the imprint of his hand on my shoulder.
Heat pooled beneath my skin where his fingers had been, refusing to fade even after he pulled away.
"I...am fine. You just startled me. Did you need anything?"
I asked, my eyes calming down and...trailing down Damian’s body before they settled at...a not so good place. I immediately forced my eyes to look up, not wanting to make things awkward.
I clenched my jaw, hoping he didn’t notice how my breath hitched for a second.
’Hmm, I was not looking at his private parts...it’s just...the eye level view. That’s right. There is no other reason...’
My brain was heading toward places...I would rather not think about.
There was no way for me to tell whether Damian noticed my small mishap or not since he did not address it. He just looked at the tablet behind me with a blank expression before he controlled himself and gave me a small smile.
His tongue briefly ran over his bottom lip before he looked away, almost like he was trying not to react.
"You are working hard on the entertainment business. It makes me feel ashamed about how I am leaving it all up to you. So I compiled a list of my own. How about we head out tomorrow to take a look."
Damian told me with a smile before he placed a list in front of me...a rather long list at that...
He leaned over my shoulder while placing the paper down, his chest almost brushing my back.
And why were all the people on the list either married or had partners?
