The Beginning Of A Five Year Agony-Chapter 50: I killed a Gorgon
Chapter 50: I killed a Gorgon
Green blood splashed everywhere as the Gorgon’s body went limp. But then, the Gorgon pushed itself up. Blood dripped from her wound, forming small puddles on the green-stained floor. Her eyes, still filled with serpent rage, scanned the environment, looking around desperately for Samuel. She could not see or perceive anything... Samuel was completely out of her view...
Then she felt a transparent force, a grip, something holding her tail. She tried to move, but she couldn’t. Samuel dragged her by the tail, slamming her against the nearby pillars. He moved her with brutal efficiency...left, right, up, down. Green blood came out of her mouth with each impact... Part of the chamber ceiling collapsed under the force, sending dust and debris into the air. The swirling dust briefly outlined Samuel’s body, making him momentarily visible to her...
She rushed forward at Samuel, slashing her claws rapidly. He dodged every strike, moving his body fluidly to avoid the sharp claws... He then grabbed her by the wrist, twisting it sharply. The bone in her right hand’s elbow snapped with a sickening crack...
She screamed in pain and agony, her head whipping around, the living snakes in her hair moving wildly trying to attack him...
Samuel then kicked her with immense force, sending her flying backward. She crashed into a nearby wall with a loud impact...
It was painful for her, yes, but the Gorgon also realized something crucial... Samuel was not taking her seriously. He was toying with her, treating this more like a training exercise than a real fight.
Samuel activated the "Cry of a God." A burst of pure energy shot out from him. This time, the blast was so potent and strong that it struck the Gorgon with incredible force, embedding her deep into the wall as if she were a piece of mosaic. She remained stuck there for a moment, then fell back to the ground with a heavy thud...
More green blood splashed out in every direction from her body. The Gorgon was crawling slowly and desperately across the floor, her claws digging deep into the stone with every painful movement.
Samuel, moving with intense speed and force, stomped on her tail. The bones inside her tail broke instantly with a crunching sound. The skin and scales ruptured, painting the ground a dark greenish color...
She summoned her last reserves of strength in retaliation. A final surge of light green energy came out of her mouth as she blasted it directly towards Samuel’s face. He could not avoid it entirely...
Red blood sprayed everywhere from Samuel’s neck as the energy caught him...
The Gorgon started laughing as soon as she saw the blood. But then, the dust and debris began to clear. She saw Samuel’s skeleton, partially exposed where his neck had been hit. His skull and remaining flesh, blood vessels, and veins began to regenerate rapidly. He stood there, a wide smile on his face despite the injury. The energy blast had managed to dislodge Aegirion from Samuel’s eyes, and his neck was slowly turning to stone from her direct gaze, but he was still smiling, still regenerating.
Samuel activated "Hand of War." He grabbed her shoulders, his grip powerful, and proceeded to rip them out of their sockets joint...
She shouted in profound pain and agony...
Then Samuel extended his hands, gripping her head firmly, and proceeded to rip it from her body. The cracking sound of bone and cartilage tearing was loud, echoing through the chamber... Bones, blood, flesh, and veins sprayed out as he detached her head from her neck. The Gorgon’s eyes became still, lifeless, hanging upwards in Samuel’s grasp...
In less than a second, another passageway opened up in front of Samuel. It appeared silently, a new path revealing itself from the previously solid stone wall. He dropped the Gorgon’s head to the ground and started walking towards the newly revealed passageway.
After walking for a while through a short, brightly lit corridor, Samuel entered another chamber. This time, he found himself in a vast, icy space filled with over 200 ice knight statues. Each of them stood over nine feet tall, their forms distinct and intricately carved from solid ice...
The moment Samuel’s legs touched the ground of this chamber, each and every one of the 200 ice knights began to move, aligning themselves into a precise formation...
"Protect the king!" one of them roared, its voice cold and resonant.
"Slay the intruder!" another bellowed in unison.
They all struck their spears against the icy ground, creating a powerful, vibrating tremor that shook the entire chamber. Samuel narrowed his eyes, looking past the ranks of the 200 ice knights. At the far end of the chamber, he saw a huge, imposing door, crafted from what looked like solid ice and reinforced with dark, unyielding metal.
"Attack!" the knight who looked like a general shouted. Samuel noticed that this general was the only one holding a sword... all the other knights carried spears.
Samuel swallowed, holding up his shield. Then, with a surge of power, he released the accumulated kinetic energy from his last battle with the Gorgon. He blasted the ice knights. Fifty knights in a single row shattered instantly, their icy forms melting into puddles and vapor. But the general did not move or show any sign of concern that his men were dying. Something was wrong. Samuel didn’t know what it was, but it all felt too easy. His senses activated, sending a sudden, sharp warning, but it was too late...
An ice spear flew at incredible speed, seemingly at light speed, directly towards him. It impaled Samuel in the head, sending him flying across the chamber. His eyes went white with pain. The agony was unbearable, an explosion of pain inside his skull. Samuel’s body crashed into a nearby pillar, shattering it from the force of the spear’s impact.
Samuel immediately used his essence, a concentrated burst of his internal power, to burn and melt the spear embedded in his head. The ice hissed and sizzled as it vaporized. He stood up from the debris, the large hole in his head already starting to heal, flesh and bone rapidly knitting back together. He narrowed his eyes, his gaze now sharp and focused.
Slowly, the remaining ice knights began moving forward, marching in perfect synchronization, their spears held ready.
"Aegirion," Samuel uttered, still holding his healing head. He activated the "Art of War." Dark green energy burst out from the blade as it transformed into its mighty knight form. Aegirion swung its massive sword, the air crackling around it, and then knelt down in front of Samuel, awaiting his command.
"Kill anything that moves," Samuel commanded, his voice strained but firm, still holding his head as the regeneration was completed...
In an instant, Aegirion leaped into the crowd of marching knights. It swung its massive sword in wide, devastating arcs, shattering the ice knights into fragments with each blow. Samuel, meanwhile, summoned his shield, blocking the incoming spears that were being thrown forward by the knights...
His shield began to vibrate, glowing with excessive kinetic energy, the stored impacts of the spear’s building power. Samuel ran straight toward one of the knights who was approaching him. He moved left and right, confusing the knight with his agile movements, then proceeded to slide directly under the knight’s legs. He jumped forward, aiming directly for the general, who still stood motionless at the back of the chamber. Samuel blasted the stored-up kinetic energy from his shield. The intense blast melted the ice knights surrounding the general, turning them into vapor, but the general remained untouched, seemingly unaffected by the heat or force.
Samuel swallowed. He knew defeating this general would not be easy. He activated the "Hand of War" and began punching the ice knights around him. Left, right, left hand under, right hand, elbows...he was using every part of his body to fight the knights, striking with brutal efficiency...
One knight attempted to stab Samuel with its spear from behind. But Aegirion saw the threat. It spun its massive sword in the air, cutting through the space between Samuel and the attacking knight, shattering the knight behind Samuel. The massive sword then stuck firmly into the wall...
Samuel noticed it. He ran towards the massive sword, grabbing its hilt where it was stuck in the wall. In one quick, powerful movement, he swung the colossal sword, cleaving through a group of ice knights coming his way. Each of their waists was divided into two by the force of Samuel’s swing.
Then he threw the massive sword back to Aegirion. The sword moved with precise accuracy, shattering more ice knights as it flew through the air to its owner.
Debris flew out in all directions...ice fragments, shattered stone, and the residue of destroyed knights. ƒrēenovelkiss.com
Samuel looked around. The number of ice knights was now less than 50. He used "Hand of War." to grab a nearby broken pillar and started smacking the remaining ice knights with it until the chamber fell silent. But there was still a problem... the general still stood, unharmed, amidst all the carnage that had occurred in the chamber...
