THE AWAKENING: BIO-GENETICS-Chapter 155: Hard Target

Yuki got into position, a dark look in her eyes as she spoke "Blood Technique!" The sword blades beamed crimson from the flow of her blood. Causing it to be sharper and denser.

"TORNADO SMASH!!!" she shouts as she spins like a tornado force charging toward the Alpha in a wave.

The Alpha summons a large amount of energy from its mouth before blasting it towards her.

"Yuki look out!" Shino shouted.

Yuki’s Gunbelt activates, the rope connected to the ground behind the Alpha. She uses the support to drift to the side as the energy beam zapped right past her. Her trembling eyes look at the tip of her hair that was caught in the blast causing strands to fly into the wind. That would have been her. She could have been torn in half if that beam was so much as touched. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

She needed to be careful and avoid that blast as best as she could.

Snapping her eyes back to the target she drifts to the ground, sliding around with the help of her Gunbelt, she then zapped toward the Alpha’s back in untraceable speed, ready to plunge but the tail slammed against her, pushing her away, she landed on the ground hard.

"Yuki!" Shino called.

His fists clenched. He had to think of something. Yuki was fighting the Alpha all by herself, she needed help, she needed support, but there was nothing he could do but watch, he hated it with every fiber of his bone. He was out of bullets, he was out of options. If only Ten was here, he would surely think of a strategy, he would surely think of a way out of it.

He wouldn’t have to watch Yuki fight to the death.

"Dammit!" he cursed. He felt helpless. What kind of commander was he if he couldn’t protect his comrades? He just had to watch. He couldn’t protect anyone like this!

He turned to Hiro’s body on the ground, still unconscious. ’The Alpha is here for Hiro, I have to do something," he thought with clenched teeth, looking away.

Yuki forced her body up, taking a harsh breath. She felt as if she had been hit by a hurricane. Her muscles intended to give out at any moment. "Not now" she mumbled in pain. "I have to keep going... I have to save Hiro."

"Hiro" her eyes found his unconscious form. Her teeth clenched hard as she glared back at the Alpha.

The Alpha growled deeply, its tail swirling dangerously behind.

"It’s not giving up" Yuki said between breaths. She was exhausted right after waking up, but she had to keep going. It was the only way to save Hiro.

’Move!’ She argued with her body.

The Alpha roared as its whole body vibrated, they froze at the sudden change of action, the Alpha suddenly went invisible like a mirage.

"It disappeared?" Shino said, stunned.

"Where is it?" Yuki said, looking around. Even her bio-genetic eyes couldn’t find it. This was bad, really bad. Even when visible they didn’t have the advantage and now it was using its tricks again. They won’t stand a chance.

Shino’s heart slammed loudly in his chest, his eyes moving erratically in hopes of finding the Alpha. ’Where is it?’ He thought with trembling eyes, ’Where is the Alpha?’ He gulped.

His heart beat increased at a pace as he waited in anticipation of what was to come. It was a few anguish seconds that rendered him helpless.

Unaware to him the Alpha’s face was right at the side of him. The Alpha growled deeply as he breathed steam from its mouth.

Shino froze hearing the sound close to his ear. His eyes widened in horror as his life flashed before his eyes. But then he panicked but it was already too late. Using the side of his head, slamming Shino on the chest, he spilled out blood from his mouth, the force pushing him away intensely.

"Commander Shino!" Yuki screamed as Shino slammed into the ground hard, sliding hard against it.

The Alpha fully emerged, where Hiro was.

"Commander Shino," Yuki said, rushing to his side.

The Alpha growled, gaining control of their action. It summoned an energy beam once again. Yuki tried to move but she only just went back to her knees in pain. Her muscles were limp and she couldn’t move. Horror filled her eyes as she stared at the incoming death.

Shino’s eyes widened in horror as the Alpha was about to shoot the energy beam while roaring an horrifying sound.

Team C

’It’s been 4 hours but nothing, no attack of any kind’ Kaneki thought, his eyes on the road. We can’t reach the others, the comms are breaking again. I just hope the others are safe and then all of us meet at the end.

Mirai’s arm tightens around his waist.

"Are you okay?" She asked, worried noticing how tense he was.

"I’m fine, it’s just sort of odd that no Kaijus are attacking us," he said, still puzzled by the fact.

"Maybe it’s a good thing, with the Alpha dead I guess we are safe for now" she reasons.

"Yeah I guess," Kaneki said with a puzzled face.

Mizuki rides to where they were.

"Mirai-chan" Yumi said with a smile on her lips.

Mirai smiled.

"Nothing on site detected, we should keep moving just like General Anzai said" Mizuki said amused.

"The explosion earlier didn’t you guys hear it?" Ryu asked, coming into view. Aimi is behind him.

"I heard," Fuijio said from behind.

"But after that nothing else" Saho said at the other end, Homura behind him.

"Yes I heard it too, but after that no sound came again" Kaneki said puzzled. What could it be? He really hoped it wasn’t anything serious.

He then turns to the two vehicles they escorted.

"Let’s just concentrate on escorting the personnel, we won’t stop until we get to the river banks, as ordered".

They nodded in agreement as they increased the speed of their movement.
