510 ...driving a hard bargain.

Yi Zhen pursed his lips while staring at Zi Han with his head tilted slightly. His jaw tightened subconsciously as he stared straight at this boy who was driving a hard bargain. This information was the only thing he could hold against the Bloodgarde if they ever overstepped their bounds thus he was very reluctant to let go of the leverage.

Zi Han saw his hesitation and sat up straight before continuing, “What are you really worried about? Do you think my mother would just wake up one day and turn against the Onyx federation and burn it to the ground for no reason? Surely she would have been provoked if she did that. Her husband and her son are her bottom line and since you don’t plan on offending either of us then why would uncle still hold on to such things?” his voice was calm but he couldn’t help but show a slight smile.

This man was like batman holding on to superman’s weakness just in case superman woke up on the wrong side of the bed one day and takes it out on everybody else.

“Besides my father is back and I am sure he will hold her back if she goes off the rails,” said Zi Han and the former Marshal glanced away his expression complicated. He couldn’t help but show a self-deprecating smile while tapping the crystal glass in his hand.

After a while, he glanced back at Zi Han and said, “That is very difficult. You can pick something else.”

Zi Han chuckled lightly his gaze shifting to the little nim nim cuddling in his jacket. “So that blackmail material is more important than your son’s happiness. It is not worth your family’s happiness. Is that it? You would rather hold on to it at the risk of being an outcast inside your own family?” said Zi Han finding this very amusing. The Bloodgarde had never interfered with the Marshal except when it came to the prime ministers. Well, to be exact other than when he killed prime minister Ju they never interfered in each other’s business so Zi Han couldn’t understand why this man was so adamant about this.

“I will never use that black material against you again... so there is no need for you to worry. It’s there for our piece of mind,” said the former Marshal as he got up and poured two more shots of the rum he had been drinking into the crystal glass.

Zi Han stared at the condensation slowly dripping down the crystal glass before saying, “What about my piece of mind? Uncle Yi, let’s not forget that you threatened me with that black material for a personal matter. I would have gone to the deepest depths for Yi Chen because I love him but I didn’t appreciate you threatening me with my family. That feeling was very unpleasant,” said Zi Han and the former Marshal finally turned his gaze toward him.

The two of them looked at each other for a while neither of them willing to back down. Meanwhile, the hangar was in disarray as Igneous demanded to be let on board Cetus. The former Marshal who was having a standoff with a Zi Han got interrupted.

He picked up the call and his brows furrowed slightly. He turned to look at Zi Han and Zi Han smiled lazily as he leaned back in his seat.

“I always keep my word. You said you wanted to talk to him so he came to speak to you. I wonder if he asks me who has bullied me over the years should I mention your name? Should I mention how you broke my arm so I could leave your son? Or maybe I should mention how you slapped me or mayb-,” he said only for the former Marshal to interrupt him.

“Okay fine. I will delete all of it right here... just... just don’t say things you shouldn’t,” he said as he pulled up a file with so much evidence that would take months to read through.

Zi Han smiled and watched as the file got transferred to his light brain. While he was receiving the file his father emerged from Igneous and didn’t even ask anyone anything as he directly walked over to the captain’s office.

Along the way, everyone who saw him was in disarray. They didn’t even know what to do. They didn’t know whether to bow or not. They didn’t know of salutations were necessary. Those who thought it was only right to respect their Emperor bowed but he ignored them all.

He had one thing in mind that is getting his troublesome son out before his wife decided to do something about it. She gave him ten minutes to get their baby back thus he had to pick up his pace. f𝑟e𝒆𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗oѵ𝐞𝗹.c૦𝑚

When he reached the captain’s office the display swiftly read his genetic code and he was let in. One could say that his genes were a master key in the Federation though most people didn’t know. None of the prime ministers knew that their offices and even house doors could be opened by this man with ease.

“Who...,” said Yi Zhen only for his voice to freeze when he saw who it was. His heart fell to the pit of his stomach as he took a step back.

He never thought he would see this man ever again so yes he couldn’t help but be disrespectful for a minute.

Yeoh Jun wanted to say something to him but when he saw his son sitting on the couch with his pet in his jacket he couldn’t help but walk over.

“Hurry up. Your mother is threatening to burn Cetus warship if you aren’t out there in ten minutes,” he said and Zi Han got up to leave.

“But I want to see Yi Chen. I can call her and tell her I am fine,” he said and his father who hadn’t been assertive in the short period they had known each other said,

“No. When he wakes up I am sure the former Marshal would send him over, right?” before turning to the former Marshal.

Yi Zhen cleared his throat and answered with a stammer, “I... uh yes. I will ask him to to pay you a visit.”

“But,” said Zi Han only for his father to give him a stern look while explaining,

“You stay off Cetus until we reach an agreement and they stop looking at you like the enemy,” in a low voice.
