The pair of lovers who had played so much that they almost sprained their lower backs were still fast asleep but Zi Han who for some reason woke up early hurriedly brought over breakfast that he made himself.
Let’s just say that he had a dream last night, a very bad dream. He dreamt that his father was still dead and that everything he experienced was a dream.
Thus he woke up early, made breakfast, and went over to the captain’s cabin. He was already this old but he couldn’t get rid of his anxiety. 𝐟𝙧ee𝔀e𝐛𝓃𝐨𝚟𝑒𝗹.c𝗼𝚖
“Mum... I brought you breakfast,” he said holding the tray tightly only for his grandfather to pass by and smack him upside his head.
“Ouch,” he yelped out in pain and Zi Feiji reprimanded him,
“Leave them alone.”
“No... I missed so many Father’s Day. I want to surprise him,” replied Zi Han while rubbing the back of his head.
.....
“You ditched him yesterday and led him straight to your mother’s cabin. I don’t think he wants a Father’s Day breakfast meal right now,” replied Zi Feiji as he carried on walking.
“I did not. It was an accident. How did you know about that?” he asked and Zi Feiji halted his steps while saying,
“You did. You told me everything yesterday when you were wasted in the infirmary. You even confessed to other things that I had no business knowing. It’s my retribution for offering you a drink.”
Zi Han, “...”
He did a lot more embarrassing things last night and he remembered some of them like dancing naked in front of Yi Chen.
He ruffled his hair and knocked again after making sure his grandfather was gone. “Ma.... your coffee is getting cold,” he whispered and suddenly heard the sound of something falling inside.
That’s because his mother who was as much of a terrible sleeper as him had kicked his father off the bed. With a soft thud, the grown man fell off the bed and yelped while holding his lower back like a soccer player faking an injury.
“Xixi, why,” he cried out only for the culprit to crawl over and appear at the edge of the bed her head peering through.
“Shh... quit messing around and put some clothes on,” she whispered loudly while tossing the clothes at him. She heard her sweet baby calling out to his mummy and woke up abruptly. In turn, she accidentally kicked her husband off the bed and he decided to fake an injury which he was very bad at. 𝑓𝙧𝘦𝘦we𝘣𝙣𝘰𝘃𝗲l.com
“You want me to wear this?” he asked looking at the purple ankle length pajamas that obviously belonged to his wife.
“You have no choice,” she said putting on another set of pajamas.
“Did you get rid of my clothes?” he asked while putting them on.
“No, I managed to save a few but it’s in storage,” she whispered back while picking up the towel and pillows scattered on the floor.
“Why can’t we get rid of him,” whispered Yeoh Jun and Zi Xingxi glared at him.
“You aren’t the one who had to comfort him when he came back home crying that he couldn’t go on the father and son trip organized by the class. He is a very sensitive boy,” she whispered back as though Zi Han would overhear their conversation.
Yeoh Jun could understand but he was really sleepy so he lay back on the bed in pajamas that barely fit his body.
“En. I will just lie down a bit more,” he said while Zi Xingxi checked the cabin once more before opening the door.
Zi Han smiled brightly as he took a step in. When he saw his father lying in the bed he felt at ease. “I made you breakfast. Black coffee for you,” he whispered handing the mug to her before walking over to the bed.
“Is he still sleeping?” he asked and Zi Xingxi threw a pillow at Yeoh Jun before saying,
“He is awake. He is just resting his eyes.”
Yeoh Jun caught the pillow and opened his eyes his nose wiggling. Something in this room smelt good.
“Who made this?” he asked while sitting up straight. His sleep was already gone.
“I did. It’s for you. I made it all. Would you like to try some deep-fried dough sticks or maybe some steamed buns?” replied Zi Han while placing the bed tray over his father’s legs.
After that, he slipped into the bed and scorched over like he was about to sleep.
Yeoh Jun, “...”
“So you came here to sleep?” he asked before poking him, “go sleep in your cabin.”
“No,” he said pulling the quilt over himself, “I woke up too early. I need to sleep some more.”
Yeoh Jun was at a loss but the moment he bit through the fired dough stick it was game over. Zi Han had definitely earned the right to sleep in their bed. It tasted so good that he couldn’t resist eating another one.
Zi Xingxi who had been watching them interact chuckled softly while sipping on her coffee.
Yeoh Jun looked up at her with a crumb at the corner of his lips looking like a greedy little piggy. “What?” he asked and Zi Xingxi walked over sitting right next to him.
She removed the crumb from his lips and ate it before saying, “You do know that it was meant for the both of us, right?”
“It tastes so good. You raised a talented chef,” he said while feeding her the fried dough stick.
“Chef no but he is a great sniper. I know you didn’t want that but after the incident... I was afraid he wouldn’t be able to protect himself. I wanted him to survive,” she explained while reaching for the steamed bun but who would have thought her greedy husband would take the plate away?
“No, you have been eating good stuff all this time. Let me have it. You drink your coffee,” he said with a smug smile.
“You greedy bastard. You can’t even finish it all,” she said trying to grab a steamed bun from him.
“If you two can’t learn to share like toddlers then I will take my tray back with me. None of you will get to eat,” whispered Zi Han and the pair looked at each other before whispering,
“Did he just scold us?”
“Yes, he did. Shouldn’t we do something about it?” asked Yeoh Jun.
“I can still hear you,” said Zi Han while shuffling under the quilt.
Zi Xingxi, “...”
Yeoh Jun, “...”
