The Alpha's Stripper Mate: Sold To Be His.-Chapter 97
NYLAH
The guards dragged me out of Ivy’s room and dumped me in front of Sofia’s room like I was a rag doll.
I sat down in front of her door even after they walked away, I didn’t have the strength to move or even try to stand. My legs felt numb, and my entire body ached.
I had no idea if they didn’t know that I was wolfless. Maybe they thought I would heal. That’s why they beat me to a pulp, but it was too bad. If I hadn’t attended to on time and my wounds were treated, it could get infected, and I could lose my life.
I stayed on the cold floor for long minutes; I couldn’t keep track of the time with the pains I felt. I only knew that I stayed on the floor for too long until I began to shiver.
Loud footsteps echoed in my ears, and I heard Sofia’s voice. It was a gasp. Followed by a sob. She squatted and touched my hair, I was too bloodied for her to touch my back, and I sat face down, so the only good place she was certain she could touch without hurting me was my hair.
I didn’t move. I couldn’t move. She increased her sobs and went on to apologise to me like she was the cause of my predicament.
"I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. I came late. Please forgive me." She cried as she tried to lift me from the floor. I had no strength left in me and no willpower to stand or do anything again and maybe even live.
It was as though she knew what went through my mind because she suddenly stopped trying to lift me up from the floor and instead whispered in my ears pleas.
"Nylah, I need you to try to get up. I want to take you to the bathroom and wash the blood off your body so I can treat your wound with some herbs." She explained, and I couldn’t even speak or reply to her and tell her how I was feeling.
She continued begging and trying to lift me up that I gave up and used the last willpower I had to make her happy. I pulled myself up and almost fell to the ground, but she caught me fast.
In the process, she touched a lot of my deep wounds, and this caused more blood to pump out and the wounds to sting. I winced and groaned in pain.
"I’m sorry, I’m so sorry." She cried as she led me in.
I let out another loud groan as my bare back touched the bathtub. Sofia was extremely gentle with me, but my skin was battered and ficking sensitive. Every little move I made caused me pain.
I gritted my teeth as she poured warm water all over my body. My eyes were shut throughout the process. I had to focus on the pain.
She washed my back like she was washing a puzzle board with an index finger only.
"These guards are heartless." She cried when she saw the real state of my back, I believe.
She assisted me to my feet and led me to the bed, which I stained the minute I sat on it. The water unclogged the blood, so my back began to bleed again.
Sofia squatted before me.
"Nylah, I’ll be right back, okay? I need to get some herbs, and you need to take the plant of life extract to fasten your healing." She explained, and I nodded slightly before she ran off.
The door opened again after a few minutes, and I heard Sofia’s voice.
"Here, you need to drink this. It should help heal you faster." She placed a cup in between my lips, and I gulped down the contents of the cup.
It had a strong plant and earth taste and smell, but it wasn’t bitter nor sweet. It was just there.
As soon as I gulped down everything, she set the cup aside and sat behind me.
"This might hurt like a bitch but it will help your wounds close up fast and once it does, the pain goes fast too." She explained as she mixed something behind my back.
I didn’t say anything, I just gritted my teeth and waited for the impact but Sofia suddenly paused and got down from the bed.
"Lie down with your face down." She instructed and I did.
"You can grab onto the sheets if it begins to hurt like a bitch." She said again and I resumed my gritting of teeth.
I felt her hand on my back. She was plastering something cold on my open wounds. It was so cold at first but immediately she was done applying it, it began to burn me like a bitch.
I shook from the impact of the pain and grabbed onto the sheets of the bed just like she advised.
The pain was so intense I let out a loud cry. I couldn’t tell which was more hell. The pain from the beating or the pain from the herb.
Slowly, I felt my wounds close up. I could feel it and it was as though my flesh had magnets in them that pulled them to each other. It was fascinating.
I slowly glanced at Sofia and she gave me the nod of approval. She too saw it happen.
The pain subsided almost immediately and I felt strengthened enough to stand to my feet and walk to Ivy’s room. But before u went to Ivy’s room, I told Sofia about the old man and what I saw in the hall.
"The old man... he has something up his sleeves. This is not a feeling this time around, I am certain about it." I told Sofia and she looked at me thoughtfully.
"Did you see anything?" She asked and I nodded.
"Yes. I saw him smirk when the Alpha passed judgement on me. He had this satisfactory look on his face like he had gotten what he wanted done after a long while." I explained and she nodded.
She believed me. I could tell from the way she reacted but sadly, we couldn’t do anything without evidence and lots of it.
"I don’t think the Alpha would listen to us if we go to tell him about the old man now." Sofia said exactly what was in my mind.
"I think he did something to the Alpha to make his mind turn away from the important things and focus on the less important things." I agreed and she shook her head and held my hands.
"We have to stay really low key. If that is the case then the old man is probably plotting on how to get rid of us for good. You have to keep mute no matter what Ivy says or does to you because anything you say can be used against us." Sofia warned and I nodded.
She hugged me before letting me out of her sight.
I met two guards who manned the door and they stared at me condescendingly.
"She sent for me." I informed them gesturing to the door and one of them stepped aside and led me in.
Ivy was still doing whatever she was doing with her clothes and when she saw me, she stood to her feet and stormed towards me in anger.
"Whst took you so long?! I’ve been waiting for you since and you thought it wise to take your time with whatever it is you were doing right?" She snapped, dragging my ear as she scolded me.
I didn’t retaliate or even say anything, I just stood there, my face fixated on the ground as I took in all the insults she had to pour on me.
Then she threw a pile of clothes my way, it made me almost stumble.
"Take these and wash them till I can see no stains on them. You have to wash them with your hands and finish up before sunset." she ordered.
The clothes were massive. Even though I started washing the clothes at the break of dawn, I would finish washing them by sunset. Talk more of the time. I am expected to start washing them.
I wanted to speak and say that it wouldn’t be possible, but Sofia’s voice rang in my head and I picked up the clothes from the floor and took them to the pack washroom.
Well, it wasn’t really a room but a large space where anyone could wash their clothes and dry them on the wires.
Water ran there and empty buckets sat around the place as well as detergents.
I picked two buckets and filled them with water. The clothes she gave me were the ones that got heavy when in contact with water so it was hard for me to wash them properly but I scrubbed and struggled with the clothes.
I was done with the first and second batch, I still had the third, fourth and fifth batch to go when I heard some footsteps from behind.
I turned around to see Brian.
"Enough." He said and I paused, looking at him.
"Leave those clothes. Go and rest for the day." He said again and I arched my brow.
"But she said ..." I tried to explain but he cut me off.
"I don’t care what she said, I am telling you to leave these clothes and go get some rest." He said again and I rinsed my hands and made to leave but he called me back.
"Do not tell her that I intervened." He said and I nodded before walking away.
