The Alpha's Forsaken Feisty Mate-Chapter 90: Farm Fresh Strawberries
"It must have been enjoyable to meet your friends everyday. I wish I would have gone to an academy too," Zenna murmured, but her voice was audible to Radulf.
"They weren’t my real friends. In fact, no one in there was, except for Savio. Everyone befriends you after seeing the strength and name of your pack. When I needed such friends the most, all of them turned their faces away. Isn’t it strange the people who smiles and laugh with you, suddenly becomes your enemy?" Radulf chuckled.
Zenna turned silent, not able to form words to give him some sort of comfort.
"You could have been bullied in the academy of werewolves. It’s good you didn’t enter such a school," Radulf opined. "You couldn’t awaken your wolf, so such people aren’t seen in good light."
Zenna furrowed her brows together. "Should I search in books if there’s a way to awaken a wolf in an omega?" she asked him, realizing he had more knowledge than him.
"I never read anything like that," Radulf replied.
"Is it you, Radulf?" A voice boomed through the crowd, making the two of them halt. They were passing a cafe, where many couples and people could be seen enjoying their time together.
Radulf looked at the group of four people before them, recognizing them immediately.
"Greetings to Lady Zenna," the same man said. She passed a smile to him, returning his greetings.
"Conrad," Radulf pronounced his name.
"I thought you have forgotten me after your return from the war," Conrad taunted.
"I have a good memory," Radulf reminded him. Turning to Zenna he introduced them to her, "These are my classmates from the school time. Conrad is the Alpha of Crescent Moon Pack, Theodore is the Alpha of Dark River Pack and Matthew is the Alpha of Blood Hound Pack."
"Why didn’t you come to the party, Radulf? We have been eagerly waiting for your arrival," Theodore said.
"I wanted to spend time with my wife," Radulf replied. Zenna couldn’t believe he lied using her.
"Ahh, that’s understandable. Many rumors circulated about your mate in your absence," Matthew remarked.
"People love to gossip," Radulf stated. "Now, if you please excuse us, I would like to go ahead. My wife and I are hungry, so we need to head to a restaurant," he asserted and walked away with Zenna.
"Why did you lie to them? You didn’t spend any time with me after your return. Instead, you only fought with me," Zenna said, wanting to know what was in his mind.
"Even fighting with you is spending time together," Radulf replied. "Oh, here we are!" He abruptly stopped and so did she. Zenna looked at the restaurant before her. "Let’s go in." He dragged her along with him to dine for lunch.
As they settled on the chairs, Radulf gave their orders.
"Were they your classmates who turned their backs on you?" She asked out of curiosity, hoping he would share more with her.
"Hmm. I don’t wish to talk about them, Zenna. Tell me what you did in the last summer? Do you like strawberries?" Radulf asked a random question.
"Yes, I do," Zenna nodded at him.
"Let’s go to pick up some strawberries tomorrow. Farm fresh strawberries are better, aren’t they?" Radulf threaded his fingers through his hair with a gentle smirk.
’Why am I suddenly getting a deja vu?’ Zenna thought.
Radulf, on the other hand, lowered his hand to the table as he recalled Zenna’s 500th letter to him. Since was picking up letters randomly in a day to read, he got to learn a new wish of her.
"When I saw those ladies picking up fresh strawberries from the farm our pack owns, I felt what it would be like if we do it together. I want to feed you those strawberries with my hands under the pleasent sky. Radulf, if you want, then I can come to you to the war grounds to take care of you. I hope you answer me the next time."
"Don’t you have to work tomorrow?" Zenna’s voice broke his thoughts.
"I have, but it’s strawberries season," Radulf answered. "I want you to feed them to me," he asserted, smiling.
Zenna curled her fingers and her heart skipped a beat.
The waiter interrupted them as he set the dishes on the table. "Please enjoy," he said softly and walked away with the food trolley.

Loretta clutched the paper in her hand as she read the message from Radulf. She crumpled it and threw it away. "Is His Majesty in his manor?" Loretta glanced at the servant.
"Yes, Your Majesty," the servant answered.
Loretta stood up from her place and decided to meet him. Arriving at her husband’s chamber, she dismissed the servants. Phillipe had just returned from the nearest border and was resting with his head back on the sofa rest.
"What does the Luna Queen want?" Phillipe opened his eyes and looked at her.
Loretta sat across from Phillipe on the sofa chair. "Why is His Majesty allowing Radulf so much freedom?" she asked.
"I pardoned his family’s crimes," Phillipe replied.
"You should not have, Phillipe. He doesn’t treat any of us with respect," Loretta complained. "You promised me Zenna will never be a bother to my child. But Aria is suffering because of her."
Phillipe sat straight, asking Loretta to elaborate.
"Aria likes Gregor Tarquin. However, he refused to marry her claiming he has a mate. But he hasn’t revealed his mate. Aria thinks it’s Zenna who has turned Gregor against her. Phillipe, I wanted to kill that girl along with that whore omega, but I stopped because you told me to. Now, I regret my decision," Loretta said with a disappointed gaze.
"Tell Aria not to speculate without any proof," Phillipe asserted. "Don’t do anything to Melissa. I won’t hesitate to punish you, my luna, if I find out you are involved in anything like that," he warned her.
"Then, do something about Radulf," Loretta told him sternly.
"After winning the war of the Western Frontier, people are with him. I can’t possibly do anything that brings a chaos here," he stated.
"Phillipe, he is challenging your authority. His parents were killed. Radulf must be planning to end us. You want a son from him and Zenna, but I highly doubt that he will let you even have it," Loretta stated.
Phillipe’s thin patience ended and he grabbed Loretta by her neck. "Say that again and I’ll kill you right away. My wolf might have weakened with my age, but not my strength. So, do not provoke me, Loretta."
She tried to get free of Phillipe’s grip, but couldn’t, until he shoved her back to the sofa chair.
Loretta clenched her fists hard, but she gulped the anger inside her. "Don’t come to be crying when Radulf sits above your head," she yelled before leaving in anger.
"Radulf will never do that. I am the almighty Alpha King. Whoever challenged me has seen only destruction," he pronounced with an evil smirk.

"The food here was delicious," Zenna said after placing the napkin next to the plate.
"Indeed, it was nice," Radulf replied.
"Are we heading back then?" Zenna inquired.
"Not now. I dedicated this entire day to you. So, you must do the same," Radulf answered. The waiter came with bill book in his hand. Radulf inserted the money in it along with some tip before heading out with Melissa.
"I was wondering if you would want a new dress or perhaps a new jewelery?" he asked out of the blue.
"I’ve enough in my wardrobe," she replied, refusing him politely.
"Did you find out who ruined your dress?" asked Radulf.
"Huh? How do you know my dress was ruined? Did Pia tell you?" Zenna inquired.
"No. I found out on my own. So, who’s the culprit in your mind?" Radulf questioned again.
"I don’t want to blame anyone without any evidence," Zenna replied.
"Hmm. That’s wonderful to know," Radulf said. "Then, we should head home. I hope you enjoyed the outing with me. We didn’t do anything fun, except for that boat ride," he mumbled.
"I enjoyed the entire day with you," Zenna said. "It was beyond my expectations," she proclaimed, smiling, which reached her eyes. "Thank you for bringing me outside. It was always my dream to spend a time with you," she added.
’She is smiling the same way as she smiled before Gregor a few days ago. This is her genuine, true smile. Seems like I finally succeeded in seeing that part of Zenna,’ Radulf thought.
’Then, it’s the time to kiss her,’ Black spoke in the back of his head.
He took a small step close to her. Before she knew, he pressed a kiss on Zenna’s lips, not caring for the people around them.
However, he soon pulled away. "Keep smiling like that, Zenna. You have got a beautiful smile," Radulf whispered, making her heart race.
"Thank you," Zenna said, lowering her eyes while feeling shy. "Even you look better when you aren’t furious," she stated and brushed past him.
"That was one weird compliment," Radulf muttered and followed her footsteps.
