The Alpha's Forsaken Feisty Mate-Chapter 154: Need to plan my escape
"Darren, find out how Sylvan died," Leon ordered his beta as soon as they arrived in the palace.
"Sylvan has died?" Darren was shocked to learn that.
"Yes. I saw his son in the market," Leon stated.
Darren bowed. "I will return with the desired information soon, Your Grace." However, he didn’t leave right away. "I’ve been with Crown Prince Leon for a long time. I never saw him troubled in the way he’s these days. If His Grace has something to share with this beta of his, then he can," he said in a humble tone, hoping to give some comfort to Leon.
"Aren’t you loyal to my father?" Leon asked.
"I am, but I am also your beta. If His Grace thinks that I will inform His Majesty, then he’s wrong. He also knows all of this," Darren proclaimed. Leon couldn’t deny his claims. His beta had remained quiet for whatever he did.
"Father will not make me the Alpha King," Leon revealed to him.
"What? Why?" Darren got confused. Wasn’t Leon supposed to take that position since the time of his birth?
"I cannot tell you. I hope you understand, Darren," Leon asserted.
"Sure, Your Grace." Darren didn’t pressure the Crown Prince to tell him the truth and silently left the chamber to carry out his task.
Leon, on the other hand, went to the inner chamber, particularly to his private reading room. He pulled out a book from the shelf and opened it to take out the small key. Walking to the drawer of the oak tree, he opened it and took out a tiny silver box, which had corroded in years.
He opened it and sat on the chair. Leon looked at the tiny silver pendant of which shine still was the same. It wasn’t corroded either. It was from his biological mother. In all these years, he could only find this small item. The key to find his home might take years because no one knew what happened to his biological parents.
"I think I will leave this palace after Zenna hands over her child to the Alpha King. What if Father kills me too because I won’t be useful to him anymore? I need to plan my escape too," Leon muttered and furrowed his brows together.
He never wore this pendant, but now he decided he would. Leon took out the chain from his neck and put the pendant on it before putting it inside his shirt.
Putting back the box into the drawer, he closed it. Leon put back the key into the same book and left his private reading room.

Radulf stood in front of the portrait of his parents. He touched their feet and a sigh escaped from his lips. "I found out the truth. But I have no idea how to proceed from here," he murmured.
He had various thoughts in his mind. To expose the truth directly; to kill Phillipe right in front of everyone for lying to everyone or to burn the entire palace. But none of them were suitable because his father’s innocence would never be proven that way.
He lowered his hand from the portrait and fisted his palm, feeling frustrated.
’Radulf, let’s rip apart Phillipe when he will be alone. No one will find out it was us,’ Black said.
’I wish I can do that. But as I said, an easy death would be too easy for him, Black.’ Radulf refused that idea. ’Also, the people must know that my father and mother were accused of a crime they never committed.’
Black hummed in agreement. He let the decision be on Radulf.
’I think I will gather the trust of the packs first. I need to make them stand against Phillipe,’ Radulf thought in his mind. He returned his gaze to his parents. "I promise I will restore the honor for both of you," he stated. He took a few steps back before turning around and closing the door.
As Radulf was out of the Eastern Wing of the mansion, he met Savio.
"Where were you?" Savio asked in urgency.
"I was in my parents’ room. What happened?" Radulf asked.
"Alfred is here," Savio whispered in Radulf’s ear.
"Why?" Radulf looked shocked.
"I’ve no idea," Savio answered. "But he said he wanted to see you urgently. He’s waiting for you in the office."
Radulf nodded and the two of them walked there. Walking in, Radulf found Alfred seated on the chair. As if Alfred sensed Radulf’s presence, he stood up and turned to look at him.
Radulf greeted him and stopped right in front of him. "Why is Commander Alfred here?" he asked politely.
"You killed the hunter and those two warriors that night, didn’t you?" Alfred asked.
Radulf chuckled and shook his head. "I think I cleared myself about that," he said.
"You are a suspect. A new commander has been appointed. His name is Tristan Silverado. Today he told the Alpha King that it was you. Though the Alpha King refused to open the investigation, you may be punished once the truth is out," Alfred pronounced.
"I see. But why is Commander Alfred telling me all of this?" Radulf arched his eyebrow in a nonchalant tone.
"Radulf, I want you to be safe. Don’t let anyone catch you," Alfred stated and walked past him.
"Stop!" Radulf said and turned around. "Why are you concerned about me? I thought you wanted me dead, Alfred."
Alfred clenched his fists and the next second, he had held Radulf by his collar. But Radulf was faster and he twisted Alfred’s arm behind his back, not caring about his rank.
"Radulf, let go of my hand," Alfred said, and he got a slight push.
"Don’t dare to do that ever," he warned Alfred.
"Radulf, I understand you suffered an unbearable loss, but you need to keep every step with caution. The Alpha King won’t let you live after some time. So, you better not give him any opportunity to ruin you," Alfred stated.
"Stop showing your fake care toward me," Radulf shouted at him. "You could have saved my father, Alfred. Weren’t you his closest and most trustworthy friend?" He then chuckled, running his fingers through his hair.
"Alfred, I know what I am doing. And tell that bastard Tristan to bring evidence to indict me. I may kill him too if he keeps running his mouth," he threatened, not fearing anyone.
Savio watched how aggressive Radulf had turned after returning from Herah.
"I did what your father wanted. Do you think it was easy to save you? Live as long as you can," Alfred said and walked away.
Savio glanced at Radulf, whose eyes had changed their color. They turned red, which would never happen until he changed into his wolf’s form.
"Radulf, are you alright?" Savio asked with a worried gaze and walked to him.
"I want to be alone," Radulf said, and he left in a blink of an eye.
Once outside, Radulf changed into his wolf form and ran aimlessly through the vast stretch of the forest.
He only stopped upon reaching the graves of his parents, which were made in the deepest part of the dense forest. He gasped for air as his eyes glued to their graves.
The sky turned dark soon, and he didn’t realize when it was night. How long he was there, he had no idea either.
Radulf walked back to the mansion slowly, feeling utterly devastated.
"Radulf!" Zenna’s voice reached his ears, and he lifted his head. She was on a wolf’s back, and it was Savio in his wolf form.
Once Zenna was on the ground, she ran toward Radulf and tiptoed to reach the face of Black. The wolf crouched down, his face brushed Zenna’s before he settled on the ground. Her scent was enough to remove all his worries, and he closed his eyes while Zenna kept caressing his face.
Savio, on the other hand, left them alone and rushed back to the mansion.
"Radulf, I overslept. Savio told me what happened between you and Alfred. Calm down, okay? Everything is fine," Zenna said in her soft tone.
Both Black and Radulf felt better in her embrace. After a while, Black let Zenna climb on his back, and they returned to the mansion.
Once in the room, Radulf dressed up and entered the living area, where Zenna was waiting for him.
Finally, seeing him in human form, Zenna got the chance to talk to him. She extended her arms, and Radulf smiled before hugging her.
"Zenna," he whispered her name while she patted his back.
"I don’t think Alfred was wrong. You need to be careful. And don’t lose your temper in such situations. It hurts a lot. But you can’t fight with the negative emotions in your head. You must act like a calm person, who knows how to attack on the right time. Radulf, let’s apologize to Alfred tomorrow," Zenna said calmly, making sure Radulf would consider her suggestion.
