Chapter 126: A Beta she-wolf

"Alpha Markel has arrived in the Kingdom," Savio informed Radulf in the early morning as he stood next to him in the garden.

Radulf inhaled deeply, taking in the pleasant fragrance of the roses in the garden, lowering them slightly to appreciate their beauty.

"What if Nina schemes to take over the Kingdom?" Savio asked, his brow furrowed with concern.

"Phillipe will ensure that doesn’t happen. Markel surrendered in exchange for his life. Nina may have bigger plans, but I doubt she’ll be eager to assist the man who cast her aside at the last moment," Radulf asserted confidently.

"Nina wanted to be with you from the start. If anything goes wrong, the blame may fall squarely on your shoulders since you brought her into Nalveri Kingdom," Savio pointed out, emphasizing the potential consequences.

"Phillipe will dismiss me the moment my pup falls into his hands. Until then, he won’t act against me. As for Nina, I plan to uncover her true intentions after I return from Herah," Radulf explained.

"Radulf, you still need to be cautious. The royal family has proven itself to be notorious when it comes to serving their own interests," Savio advised.

"Of course, I will stay alerted," Radulf replied. "I need to give these to Zenna. I’ll see you later," he asserted and went inside the mansion, holding the few roses in his hand.

As he arrived in the chamber, the pleasant scent of Zenna lingered on his nose. He and his wolf groaned in joy before following their mate’s scent. As Radulf entered the huge balcony, he found Zenna alone.

Walking quietly toward her, Radulf stopped right behind her and moved his hand to the front of her chest. His body slightly brushed against her and she quickly tilted her head over her shoulder.

"For you," Radulf said.

Zenna smiled and took them from him. "I thought you already left for the work," she said, caressing their petals.

"I haven’t even have my breakfast," Radulf reminded her. He observed her inhaling the scent of the flowers. His fingers lightly brushed against her temple and she looked up to meet his green orbs. "Zenna, it seems you have started glowing day by day," he whispered. He made her turn toward him. His hand cradled her neck, pinning her to the balustrade.

As he pressed a kiss on the center of her throat, Zenna let out a low moan. Her grip on the roses tightened and she said, "What if someone comes? Pia is around only and so are are the oth-other servants."

"Don’t mind them," Radulf’s husky deep voice reached her ears and he held her waist this time. He ducked his down to her neck.

"Don’t use perfume. I like your natural scent more," Radulf stated and he opened his mouth before sucking her skin, his teeth grazing over it, thus leaving a red bruise in its wake.

"Radulf," Zenna cried his name, her hands pressing on his chest. She felt his tongue licking the same spot before planting a soft kiss behind. "You should stop–" her other half words ceased in her mouth as Radulf captured her lips. His hand held hers which had roses in them.

"I should, Zenna," Radulf spoke, giving her time to suck in the air. His eyes gleamed green, both he and his wolf overwhelmed with the sudden rush of joy in them. "Let the others. They should know you are mine, Zenna," he said possessively and again kissed her. This time he nibbled her lips for a longer moment than before, his hand moved slowly from her waist to her breast.

She moaned against his mouth while her back arched toward her.

Finally, Radulf pulled away, gasping for the air along with her. The back of his fingers traversed her curves and a smirk formed across his lips.

"You are aroused, aren’t you?" Radulf asked in a low voice.

Zenna’s cheeks burned red and she promptly moved away from him. "In the morning, how could you act so shamelessly?" She glared at him. "What if someone had come? You may not get embarrassed, but I do," she pronounced.

Before Radulf could answer her, she quickly walked out of the balcony. He chuckled seeing the way she was behaving.

"I don’t understand her sometimes," Radulf murmured and followed her.

After a refreshing bath, Gregor slipped into a finely tailored suit. Its fabric was smooth and it perfectly fitted to his frame. As he adjusted the cuffs, his thoughts drifted to the young lady he had rescued and brought into the mansion the night before. Turning to Erik, he asked, his voice laced with concern,

"Has she regained consciousness?"

"Not yet, Young Master," Erik responded in a respectful tone.

With practiced ease, Erik draped a silk scarf around Gregor’s collar, fastening it neatly before securing a shimmering brooch adorned with a deep blue crystal.

Satisfied with his appearance, he gave Erik a brief nod of gratitude before preparing to visit the young lady from the last night.

As Gregor stepped into the guest room, a female servant greeted him with a polite bow before stepping aside. His gaze immediately fell upon the young woman lying on the bed who face was still pale but at the same time, it appeared serene.

The wolf inside him stirred, reacting to the faint but a unique scent emanating from her. His instincts sharpened, his pulse quickening as something deep within him responded to her presence. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Reaching out, he moved to touch her forehead, but his hand halted midair when he noticed the subtle flicker of her eyelids. Her eyeballs shifted beneath them, a sign that she was beginning to wake.

"Call Hailey," Gregor ordered.

Erik bowed and immediately left to bring the pack’s doctor.

The young woman slowly opened her eyes, her vision adjusting to the dim lighting. The first thing she saw was Gregor. A strange warmth spread through her as the pain from the wound on her lower back began to subside. The moment her wolf recognized him, a deep sense of belonging settled within her.

’We have found our mate, Aster,’ her wolf, Ira, spoke in her mind.

Neither of them said a word. An unspoken spark passed between them, holding them in place until Hailey arrived.

The pack doctor stepped in briskly, her keen eyes assessing the situation. Gregor finally broke eye contact with Aster as Hailey requested privacy. Without hesitation, he stepped out with Erik, giving her space to examine the injured woman.

After some time, Hailey called Gregor back in. As he entered, he found Aster now sitting up in bed, looking much stronger than before.

"The wound has healed," Hailey said, placing her medical kit aside.

Gregor gave a slight nod. "Thank you for your efforts. Do I need to take care of anything else?"

"No," Hailey replied. "Aster is a beta she-wolf. Her body will need only a day or two of rest to fully recover. Since there’s no infection or fever, I won’t prescribe any medication."

"I see. You can leave, Hailey. Thank you again," Gregor said.

Hailey gave a respectful nod before gathering her things and exiting the room.

As soon as the door closed, Gregor turned back to Aster. "I need privacy," he instructed the remaining servants. Within moments, the room was empty, leaving only the two of them.

Gregor pulled out a chair and sat next to the bed, studying her closely. "So, your name is Aster," he said, pausing slightly, expecting her to add more.

"Aster Westwood," she replied. Her voice was soft but steady. "Thank you for saving my life."

Gregor’s expression remained unreadable. "Hmm." He paused for a moment before continuing, "You don’t belong to my pack or any other. Are you a rogue wolf?"

Gregor leaned back slightly, his sharp gaze fixed on Aster as she nervously fiddled with her fingers.

"Will you punish me if I say yes?" she asked hesitantly. "I was banished from my pack a few months ago. I... I didn’t know the territory I entered would be a threat to me. Yes, I am without a pack."

Before he could respond, she quickly added, "You are my mate. Can you recognize me? I mean, can you feel it?"

Gregor didn’t hesitate. "Yes."

He saw the relief and quiet joy in her eyes at his answer. He had no reason to lie—after all, he had spent so long searching for his mate.

Aster’s smile was brief but genuine.

"Why were you banished?" Gregor asked, his tone neutral but firm.

Aster hesitated, lowering her gaze. "Because I... I hit the Alpha of my pack."

Gregor’s brows lifted slightly, but he remained silent, waiting for her to continue.

"I didn’t want to," she admitted. "But he was hitting on me despite having a mate. I warned him to stop, but he didn’t listen. In anger, I twisted his arm and struck him on the head."

Gregor couldn’t believe his ears. A beta hitting an alpha was indeed a big matter. He found her amusing and ended up laughing lightly.

"Which pack did you belong before?" Gregor questioned.

"West Night Pack," Aster replied.
