The Alpha's Forsaken Feisty Mate-Chapter 124: Chasing someone you wish
Radulf placed his hand on the nape as Savio placed a file in the table for him to read.
"I have cleared the worl schedule for you starting next week," Savio informed him.
"Good," Radulf replied and sat on the couch, his one leg rested above the other, his arms rested at its top and he gazed at Savio. "I will be taking Melissa with me."
"To Herah?" Savio looked shocked. "I thought you were jesting about it when you first shared about it with me."
"She will be troubled here in my absence here," Radulf stated. "And after I found out what she has undergone, I shouldn’t repeat the same mistake again."
"That’s so thoughtful of the Alpha," Savio smirked. "I didn’t mention it in the morning, but after spending a night with Melissa, you are glowing, Radulf."
"What?" Radulf widened his eyes for a moment before chuckling. "I glow daily," he murmured.
"Not everyday, Radulf. It must have been a wonderful night for you. For days, you were restless for not able to do anything despite your Luna was so close to you," Savio said with a grin.
"Now, stay quiet. I don’t want to discuss about it," Radulf stated. "The frequent rogue attacks is something new to me. I wonder if Phillipe is unaware of it or he is the one behind them. He doesn’t care for the destruction of the others when it comes to his own benefits," he asserted.
"Honestly, I don’t understand the Alpha King. Why is he like this? He framed your father wrongly and then even attacked on our pack by sending some rogues. Radulf, when do you plan to bring him down?" Savio asked with a frown.
"After my visit of Herah. What I’ve learned so far is that Phillipe has a strong hold over the alphas of some of the strong packs in the Kingdom. I still wonder what made him destroy my family. My father was his loyal subject too," Radulf murmured, the anger boiling over him.
"You said it might be because you are a dominant alpha and so your father was," Savio stated.
"That’s true," Radulf said and leaned his head back. He felt Zenna’s presence around and asked Savio he should leave.
Savio stood up and left after giving him a light bow.
Radulf lay on the couch and closed his eyes, pretending to sleep.
Zenna entered the room after taking a peek from the door and saw it was empty. She walked in and stopped seeing Radulf on the couch. "Why didn’t he go to the bedchamber to sleep?" she murmured and approached him.
Her eyes spotted an eyelash on his cheek and she leaned down to move it away. Once she brushed it away, she withdrew her finger and thought to let Radulf rest like that. However, she couldn’t stop herself from kissing his cheek.
She leaned down and pressed a soft kiss on his cheek. As she moved up, a smile formed on her lips, but what she didn’t notice that Radulf had opened his eyes already.
As she turned to leave, Radulf caught her wrist. Before she could react, he pulled her down, right above him. His arm wrapped around her possessively.
"What was that? Were you taking an advantage of me in my sleep?" Radulf playfully asked.
"No," Zenna refused. "And how it was taking advantage? I merely kissed my husband’s cheek," she reasoned.
"But when he was asleep," Radulf said. "You don’t do it when you are awake."
"Don’t lie. Last night I did," Zenna replied. A moment later, she began blinking rapidly, feeling a sudden shift in his pupils.
"Do you feel better? I was quite relentless last night," Radulf stated.
"I am better," Zenna answered. "You can let me go. What if someone walks in and see us in such a compromising position?" she asked.
"No one will come inside. It’s our private place," Radulf replied. His lips brushed against her chin and he moved down to her neck, leaving soft kisses behind.
Before Zenna could react, he flipped her down on the couch and himself hovered over her. She noticed how her eyes gleamed green and she locked her arms his neck.
"Radulf, thank you for trusting me and giving us a second chance," Zenna said with a smile. "You no longer shout at me or avoid me."
"Say that I was a jerk for neglecting you all this time," Radulf said. He held her hand and kissed her knuckles before intertwining their fingers. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"You’ve your own misunderstandings toward me. I don’t want to call you a jerk. You thought I was my father’s secret spy who was wedded to you to keep an eye on you. He took everything from you, so eventually I understood your hatred toward me," Zenna explained.
"Still, I’ve hurt you a lot in the past. I told don’t forgive me easily," Radulf said. The pad of his fingers slowly caressed her cheek and he continued, "We will soon to Herah. Don’t tell Pia or anyone else about the town we will be heading to. Instead, we will tell about the wrong place name to them."
"Why?" Zenna confusedly stared at him.
"Because your father will track us down," Radulf stated.
"Hmm. I won’t share anything with anyone," she promised. "Let’s have lunch. I will check with Pia about it."
Radulf let her sit up. "Zenna, you look beautiful. The first time I saw you after returning from the war, I was quite stunned by your beauty. Sorry for saying it so late."
Zenna’s heart fluttered against her chest and she thanked him for the compliment. She walked out of the room while wearing a broad smile across her lips.

Leon stormed into his chamber, his patience worn thin after a long day’s work. The sight of Nina comfortably seated in his space only worsened his mood.
"Miss Nina, you are not allowed to enter my chambers at your leisure," he stated, his voice sharp with irritation. His golden eyes narrowed as he continued, "My mother may have developed a liking for you, but that does not mean I share her sentiment."
Nina rose gracefully from the chair and bowed, her expression unreadable. "Do your feelings truly matter, Your Grace?"
Leon’s jaw tightened, his fingers twitching at his sides. He did not respond.
Nina turned slightly and gestured toward the table, where a delicately wrapped box rested. "Your mother wished for me to deliver this to her son. That is the only reason I came here."
Leon’s gaze flickered to the package before settling back on Nina. "You could have given it to the servants outside. There was no need for you to enter my chambers," he pointed out, his tone colder than before.
"Noted," Nina replied, her voice steady. She stepped forward, holding his gaze. "And, Your Grace, whether or not you harbor feelings for me, I suggest you show some respect to the woman you are going to marry soon."
With that, she turned on her heel and strode toward the door. However, just as she was about to leave, she halted. Tilting her head slightly, she cast a glance over her shoulder.
"Your Grace," she said, her tone smooth yet laced with something unreadable, "focus on becoming the next Alpha King rather than chasing someone you wish to keep by your side."
Leon’s fingers curled into a fist. Her words left an unsettling feeling in his chest, one he could not shake even as she disappeared down the corridor.
Nina walked gracefully through the halls when she spotted Aria approaching from the opposite direction. She greeted the princess with a polite nod, which Aria returned.
"Her Highness seems to be doing well now," Nina observed.
"Yes, my wounds healed quickly," Aria confirmed. Her gaze shifted curiously to Nina. "Did you go to see my brother?"
"I did," Nina admitted, a faint smile playing on her lips. "But the Crown Prince does not seem fond of my presence. Does he have another woman in his heart?"
Aria’s brows knitted together at the unexpected question. "No, there is none, Miss Nina. Why do you ask? Did my brother say something to you?"
Nina shook her head. "No. But he treats me with such coldness that I wondered if his heart already belonged to someone else."
Aria hesitated for a moment before shaking her head again. "My brother does not have anyone he loves. If there were such a person, he would have told Mother," she asserted, trying to reassure Nina.
Nina’s lips curled into a small smile, but a nagging feeling refused to leave her mind. ’He does have someone.’ Whether it was a woman of low status or—worse—an omega, Nina would find out soon enough.
’And once I do, I will make sure she disappears.’
"I will take my leave now, Your Highness," Nina said, bowing slightly before continuing down the hall.
Aria watched her retreating figure, her expression thoughtful. ’A woman’s instincts rarely fail her. Does my brother truly have no one, or is he simply pretending?’
For now, she set her thoughts aside. She had come to this part of the palace for a reason—she needed to see her father.
