The Alpha's Forsaken Feisty Mate-Chapter 101: To betray Radulf

The next morning, Nina went to the palace as per the order. Upon arriving there, she was escorted to the Queen’s manor.

"Greetings to Your Majesty," Nina said, bowing to the Luna Queen.

"You may raise your head," Loretta said while looking into the jewelry boxes. "Why did you tell Radulf I was the one who gave you the drug?" she asked, lifting the diamond-emerald necklace. Her eyes sparkled from the glow of those diamonds as she awaited Nina’s response.

"Your Majesty, for your sake I decided to give that drug to Zenna. Moreover, I didn’t wish to lie to Radulf," Nina asserted, not fearing her because she knew Loretta would not make a foolish decision to harm or punish her. Her father might not be caring towards her, but when it came to protect her from any harm, he wouldn’t hesitate to attack on them.

Loretta lowered the necklace in the jewelry box and finally turned to look at Nina. "Miss Nina, would you like to marry my son, Crown Prince Leon?" she asked.

"Pardon me?" Nina was completely shocked with the Queen’s sudden offer to her. "Forgive me for reacting in such a way, Your Majesty. I didn’t expect that you’ll consider me for making your daughter-in-law," she replied humbly and lowered her eyes.

"It’s fine," Loretta said. "What do you think about this proposal? Will you marry my son?" she inquired.

Nina fidgeted with her fingers. "I need time to think about it, Your Majesty," she asserted.

"Miss Nina, you are a princess. The Alpha King and I were talking about it yesterday. We felt that we should invite your father here and ask your hand in marriage. We definitely won the battle, but we want to ask your hand with dignity. Do think about this, Miss Nina. You will be the Crown Princess of this kingdom and also the future Luna Queen of all the werewolves," Loretta affirmed with a smile.

Nina smiled back. "If Father comes here and agrees to give my hand in the marriage to your son, I will marry Crown Prince Leon, Your Majesty," she pronounced.

"You made a wise decision. I will ask the Alpha King to send an invitation to your father, Alpha Markel," Loretta stated. "Do you wish to meet Crown Prince Leon? He must have finished his day’s work."

Nina contemplated for a moment. "I would love to meet the Crown Prince, Your Majesty," she replied with a smile.

"Please call the Crown Prince. Tell her his mother wishes to see him," Loretta ordered the servant, standing nearest to her. "Take a seat, Miss Nina. Let’s have more conversation," she suggested.

As Nina sat down on the soft-cushioned chair, she saw the rest of the servants leaving the chamber, except for the lady-in-waiting.

"How is Zenna doing these days? Is she enjoying her life?" Loretta asked.

"Radulf is quite good to his wife now. Indeed, Zenna is more cheerful than before. In the past, she even tried to end her life, but Radulf saved her in time," Nina answered.

"She tried to take her life? When did that happen? Why did she do that?" Loretta inquired.

"It happened two weeks ago, Your Majesty," Nina replied promptly. "Radulf said something upsetting to Zenna that she jumped into a lake. It was a terrible time for her. Poor, Zenna. She didn’t even receive a family’s love, nor her husband’s love," she remarked. While sharing all of this with the Luna Queen, Nina observed her reaction keenly.

"Miss Nina, what are your thoughts on having a worthless servant who captures the attention of your husband and even gets pregnant? Will you ever accept that child? Will you ever accept that you have to see a face of a child, who suddenly become a part of the family?" Loretta questioned her.

"My views do not matter on this, Your Majesty. I believe a woman should not forgive her husband either to cheat on her with another one. But I understand that the world will always see the legal wife as a wrong person," Nina answered her tactfully.

"You are smart, Nina," Loretta answered with a smile. "I like you already. I hope you never discuss it with Radulf. I want to trust you. Can I do that?" she asked.

"Your Majesty, you can trust me. If I betray you, you have the authority to behead me right away," Nina pronounced.

Loretta smiled at her statement. "Well, I want Zenna to die. She is the reason of my miseries. It should have happened a long time ago, but it couldn’t, because of my husband. I hope you are getting what I mean," she said, gazing at her intently.

"Your Majesty, for that Radulf needs to see Zenna as the villain. She is no longer the daughter of the Alpha King in his eyes. Zenna was locked in the cold palace for eighteen years and that’s what have melted away Radulf’s anger toward her. I don’t think it’s easy to end Zenna now," Nina asserted.

"But we can do it together, can’t we?" Loretta inquired.

"Forgive me, but I don’t wish to betray Radulf, Your Majesty. I can give you the information, but I cannot be a part of it," Nina replied.

"Aren’t that the same thing?" Loretta questioned.

"No. I merely will tell the truth about their relationship to you. Rest of the actions are in your hands, Your Majesty. Also, I think that the Luna Queen shouldn’t even bat an eye to the child of a mistress since she always considered her worthless. Forgive me if I have offended you with my words," Nina kept her tone as polite as she could while giving her the advice.

"You are right. I shouldn’t even bother about her," Loretta said. Her expression turned menacing as she thought, ’But she looks like that wench. She should have drown to death that night.’

"Your Majesty, the Crown Prince is here," a servant’s voice interrupted the Queen’s thoughts.

"Send him in," Loretta stated and glanced at Nina with a smile.
