The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter-Chapter 973: THE FINAL BATTLE (39)
Chapter 973: THE FINAL BATTLE (39)
"Don’t you think your mother is so awesome?" Cane said to his babies, as he carried the two of them, staring through the window of their room.
The two babies opened their eyes and stared at the sky covered ocean water, it was dazzling. The firstborn made noises and writhed his body with his little arms stretched out. Cane was not sure what he was trying to say, but he looked excited.
"I know, my mate is very powerful," Cane said, he kissed both of his sons, while his second born, looked so calm and only blinked his eyes a few times before he fell asleep again, didn’t seem to care.
Cane watched how the ocean water finally receded and what was left must be a gut wrenching destruction, but to know they managed to save this calamity was already something that he should be grateful for. Thing could be worse for them.
One problem was handled and now their next problem was the poisonous miasma.
"Stay with them." Cane handed over the babies to Hanna and Aliana. Joel and Finn were there too. It was not official yet, but the two young warriors would be the babies’ personal warriors from now on.
"Yes, alpha." Hanna and Aliana were happy enough to get the babies back. Joel and Finn talked about how great the luna was and how she had saved their lives countless times.
"I think the luna is the greatest magic user!" Finn said, he watched the sky was clear again.
"No, the luna is the Serafim," Joel retorted. "No, I think she is more powerful than a Serafim. It’s so awesome we have her as our luna!"
Lil Thing woke up from its nap and curled around Aliana’s legs to take a nap again, while the alpha left to meet with his mate.
When Cane left Iris, he didn’t think it would happen this fast, he thought, she would have time a day or two to learn a few things from Elder Rose, but even in such short period of time, she managed to make the best of it.
Cane hastened his steps when he saw Iris staggered, he caught her body and steadied her before she could fall, while Elder Rose and Abby were still dumbfounded of the power that Iris displayed.
"Are you, okay?" Cane asked Iris. "Let’s go back to the pack house." Cane carried Iris in his arms, as she rested her head against his shoulder.
"I know where Rei is and also... Liam," Iris said. She glanced at Abby. She didn’t hear what she said because she and Cane had walked a little bit further from them, leaving Abby with only Elder Rose and a few warriors around, to make sure this Elder wouldn’t try to do anything funny.
"Let’s talk about it later when you get some rest. You have done a really great job." Cane’s eyes softened when he stared at his mate. "I am so proud of you."
Iris felt so good to hear that. It was even better than to see all the people were astonished by what she could do.
"Where is my reward?" Iris asked playfully and she got a sweet kiss on her lips. She was also glad that she was still able to kiss her mate, to be together with her babies and the people that matter the most in her life.
Even though they lost a lot of their loved ones, but she was thankful, they were were still thriving.
Meanwhile, her four protectors were drained too. They laid down on the ground, breathing heavily, trying to discern what just happened.
"What are you doing, sleeping there?" Redmond frowned at Lou. His figure towered above the merchant.
"Go away..." Lou said irritatedly, he only wanted to sleep for a while. "I am just saving the world. You should worship the ground that I walked."
"Nonsense." Redmond kicked his leg and left him alone there.
However, all the people, who survived overjoyed once they learned they were safe. It was over and they wouldn’t die. They hugged their family and started to ask around what happened.
Words spread so fast and it was unsure, who started it, but they learned it was luna Iris, who had saved them with her power. All of them knew that the luna from the Howling Wolf pack was not someone simple, she had this ability like a magic user. More than a magic user if they could say.
At the same time, Iris was breastfeeding her babies with Cane helped to hold them and Hanna fed her. The luna that those people were talking about was starving now she had used all of her strength.
"Slowly," Cane reminded her, because Iris ate too fast, while Hanna giggled to see her missy.
From the look of it, Iris was no longer care about her appearance. She had one baby in her arms and the other was being held by Cane, her hair was a little bit messy and her babies latched onto her breasts, while she ate anything Hanna gave to her.
"I am starving," Iris grumbled, chewing on a piece of meat. "Cane, I think Rei and Liam are around the Lucentsand desert in Moon Dew pack," Iris said.
Lucentsand desert was a desert that you had to cross when you wanted to go to the black market, you couldn’t cross it during the day, because it was too hot for you and it would literally burn you.
"Eat first, we will talk about this with the other. Just focus on yourself." Cane wanted Iris to replenish her energy first. She had created a miracle and saved them all, it was only right if she got some rest before they jumped onto another problem. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
==================================
"Abby, are you sure you are going to stay in this continent?" Elder Rose asked her daughter the moment it was only the two of them. "Think about this carefully. This continent is not stable, even after we defeated Decratic, this place is not a safe place for you to stay."
"We? You are not the one, who had defeated Decratic, neither did I." Abby suppressed her bitterness. "Luna Iris, who had done it and shifters in this continent. Don’t take credit for their achievement, that’s very embarrassing."
Elder Rose clamped her mouth. She looked at his daughter and for the first time, she realized how further away Abby was from her. She was always within her palms, doing everything that she told her to do, never once she talked back to her, but right now, she was out of her reach.
"Do you hate me so much?"
"I am past that. Now, I don’t feel anything toward you, not even respect. Just like what luna Iris told you. Despite knowing the truth, she didn’t want to have anything with you. I have the same feeling." Abby looked at her mother sadly. She looked so old and tired. If there was the remaining feeling for her, it must be a pity.
"She is your sister’s daughter, we are family."
"You have never treated me like one and you can’t claim someone as your family and expect them to share the same sentiment." Abby sighed deeply. "I am done with you. Goodbye, Elder Rose."
Even until the end, Abby refused to call her as a mother.
After saying that, Abby turned around and was about to leave the elder there when she spoke something that halted her step.
"Don’t you want to know where is Liam?" Elder Rose asked. She knew this was the only thing that would make Abby reconsidered her decision. "I can tell you where he is."
Abby clenched her jaw. "Where is he?" She glared at Elder Rose, she knew really well what kind of game she was playing right now.
Later that night, after Iris breastfed her babies and filled her stomach, she felt very tired and sleepy, therefore, the meeting with the other protectors had to be postponed, until the next day.
Meanwhile, Cane took care the aftermath, he distributed the task to his warriors, you would see Jace and Ethan came and gone very often. Cane didn’t allow them to enter the room, because Iris and the babies were sleeping, so it would be him, who walked out of the room, since he didn’t want to leave his mate and their babies alone.
But, in the middle of the night, one of the babies was awake and from the sound of it, Cane knew it must be his firstborn.
The alpha immediately came to tend to his son before he woke up his sibling and Iris, but unfortunately for him the baby was hungry and he needed his mother.
Thankfully, Iris was also awake when she heard her baby was crying, thus Cane didn’t need to feel guilty to wake her up.
"A mother is extraordinary. You are amazing," Cane said, as he stared at Iris, who breastfed their baby, he rearranged the pillow behind her back.
Iris chuckled. She stared at her other baby, who was sleeping soundly on his crib. "Thank you. You are amazing too."
Cane caressed his baby’s ruddy cheek, but he made a grumbling noise, as if telling him not to touch him when he was eating.
"You went into a labor, giving birth to two beautiful babies, saving us from the tragedy and after that, I can’t even help you to feed the babies and give you the rest that you needed."
Iris giggled, she leaned over and kissed the tip of his nose. "Don’t be silly. That’s what we do for the people we love."
