The Academy's Time Looper-Chapter 63: Excursion
Athen had just recalled his primary goal was to pass the academy entrance exam, so he knew it was hypocritical and counterintuitive for him to skip training to play around.
However...what was the point of coming this far if he was just going to work all day?
He had thirteen days left...surely, one could be spared.
And...it wasn’t just him who thought the way.
These students in front of him, discussing and chatting, were probably already behind Athen in terms of completing the entrance exam, yet here they were.
"Yeah...one day isn’t going to hurt. I’ll train my mana and ability tomorrow!"
Standing amongst the students he had criticized and inwardly cursed at not even a day ago, Athen tried to look for a decently small group to join.
However...what was he even supposed to do?
Despite it only being two days since his arrival at the academy, friend groups and cliques had already formed.
Yet...Athen still continued searching because he had a secret up his sleeve.
He wasn’t Athen...he was Kai.
And Kai was a celebrity!
Who wouldn’t want to hang out with a celebrity!?
At that moment, as he stood still in the lobby, he suddenly felt something brush against his shoulder and push him forward.
Catching himself before he could fall, Athen regained his balance and confusedly turned around, seeing a group of two boys and two girls in front of him.
The boy at the front, with dark-brown hair and onyx-black eyes, seemed to be the one who bumped into Athen as he stood at the forefront of the group.
Not bothering to read Athen’s nametag, the brown-haired boy simply raised his hands and walked by, saying as he passed Athen.
"my bad."
As the first boy passed by Athen, a boy with glasses, black hair, and brown eyes silently followed after.
Sighing, Athen moved further out of the way, allowing the two remaining girls to pass by.
Since he was only going to spend a day having fun, Athen wanted to have the full experience by going with other people.
But, alas, it seemed that that wouldn’t happen unless he flaunted Kai’s status as a celebrity.
And, even if he did that, Athen doubted the experience would be natural as he would just have people flocking to him and bombarding him with questions.
However, that was inevitable anyway.
After the entrance exam ended and classes in the academy officially started, there would be no way to hide his fake alias "Kai."
These first two weeks during the entrance exam, when people don’t know his name, might just be the only times he could meet some genuine and real friends.
Once everyone found out Athen was the celebrity "Kai," he would just be flooded by fake friends and annoying suck-ups.
Athen now understood why the lobby was so important to people in the academy, though...
During the first day of the orientation, countless friendships and cliques had probably formed here.
Athen couldn’t even spot a lone person sitting in the lobby...everyone was surrounded by their friends.
On the first day, this place might have been the prime place to make friends, but now, it seemed to be the opposite.
Snapping Athen out of his thoughts, a sudden voice sounded from right in front of him.
"Sorry about Agor...he can be reckless at times. And Neil is usually that silent."
Instinctively raising his hand to cover the nametag that read "Kai" on his shirt, Athen nodded and stared at the two girls still standing before him.
The one speaking had long cherry-blossom pink hair that went past her waist and down to her ankles, and her friend had shorter purple hair.
Her spiky pink bangs reached down on her forehead, somehow covering everything but her light-blue eyes, and she had a nametag that read, "Chresta."
Contrary to her friend behind, who was looking away, she was wearing an amicable expression while intently staring at Athen.
From looks and personality alone, Athen could tell Chresta was going to be popular, and, as if proving his point, a voice suddenly sounded from his right.
Four boys, suddenly getting out of their chairs, walked up to Athen, Chresta, and Chresta’s friend before saying.
"We were thinking of going to the plaza to grab lunch...would you wanna come, Chresta?"
Surprising Athen, Chresta suddenly winked at him before turning to face the four boys and saying.
"I actually already have plans, maybe tomorrow!"
Even though they were obviously rejected, the four boys walked up while pumping up their fists and eagerly smiling.
Before Athen could even say anything, Chresta waved at him and walked past, following after Agor and Neil.
Following behind Chresta, the purple-haired girl with a nametag that read, "Celestia," didn’t even spare Athen a glance and walked right by.
The lobby probably wasn’t the place to make friends...however, there had to be some other people like Athen, who were alone due to skipping out on socializing, right?
All Athen had to do was find them...in this huge academy.
Making his way out of the common area, Athen walked to the teleportation magical circles to head to his room and grab his crossbow.
However, right before he could step into a circle, two white flashes suddenly appeared on his right, blinding him.
And, within a second, two familiar figures materialized beside him, one with long snow-white hair and another with shorter jet-black hair.
"..."
Halting mid-step, Athen looked to his right at the two girls, a smile appearing on his face.
Those two girls were the only people beside him at the gym yesterday...there was no way they could have friends.
Sure, they were also top-ranked students with famous families, but... at least he knew them?
Or did his past selves know them?
Turning to face the more amicable of the two, Athen stretched his hand and asked.
"Delphi, was it? I believed you wanted to talk to me after the adm-"
Before Athen could even finish his sentence, Delphi simply stepped forward and walked away, glancing at him with a disdainful expression.
