Ten Thousand Dragons Technique-Chapter 109: Refining the Dragon Blood Pill
Hearing the discussions of the senior disciples around him, Lin Xuan sneered inwardly. Me, not daring to go deep? How ridiculous. Not only did I go in, but I also successfully obtained the treasure inside—a Dragon Blood Vine. If I told them, these people would probably be stunned speechless. But this Dragon Blood Vine is crucial, so I have to remain low-key and not say a word. I’d better refine the Dragon Blood Pill first. After I take it and my strength increases immensely, I’ll give them all a real shock.
Ye Qingwu, standing beside him, said, "It’s good that you weren’t injured. You absolutely mustn’t go in there again."
Lin Xuan nodded and said, "Thank you, Senior Sister. Rest assured, I won’t go in again."
Hearing this, Ye Qingwu breathed a sigh of relief. That’s great. It seems the commotion from earlier really scared him.
However, Lin Xuan continued, "By the way, Senior Sister, when I was in there earlier, I saw another person. His name is Wan Jianfei, and he went deep into the mountain range."
Upon hearing this, Ye Qingwu was startled. Wan Jianfei? Who’s that? She didn’t know him. After all, there were too many disciples in the Heavenly Dao Academy, and she only recognized a few of the top-tier ones. She truly didn’t know the average disciples.
The other senior disciples, however, began to exclaim in surprise. Someone said, "Wan Jianfei? Isn’t he from the Star Pavilion?"
"He’s just a third-year disciple! How dare he go in there?"
"So reckless!"
Several disciples from the Star Pavilion stood up, looked at Lin Xuan, and asked, "Where is he now?"
"I don’t know," Lin Xuan said, shaking his head.
"Oh no, don’t tell me he died in there?"
"Should we go in and check?"
The Star Pavilion disciples discussed among themselves and ultimately decided to team up and go take a look.
Watching them enter the Spirit Vein, Lin Xuan wasn’t worried. He had already cleaned up the area, so no one would ever know he was the one responsible. Everyone would just assume it was the work of a Demon Beast.
Not long after, the senior disciples from the Star Pavilion returned, their expressions grim. They hadn’t found Wan Jianfei, but they did discover a deep pit and traces of blood. It was clear Wan Jianfei had been killed.
One of their Star Pavilion disciples had fallen. Damn it! They were furious. They had just been mocking Lin Xuan for going on a suicide mission, yet he had returned completely unharmed while one of their own was dead. It was a huge slap in the face.
The senior disciples stared at Lin Xuan. "Tell us everything that happened, down to the last detail."
"I don’t know." Lin Xuan shook his head again. "I didn’t go deep into the Spirit Vein, so how would I know what happened?"
"You don’t know?" The senior disciples were skeptical, their expressions turning cold as they stared at him.
At that moment, Ye Qingwu snorted coldly from the side. "What’s the meaning of this? Are you trying to bully someone from our Wangyue Pavilion? Are you pretending I’m not here? If you dare to give Lin Xuan any trouble, don’t blame me for getting rough."
Ye Qingwu took a step forward, the power from her body erupting outwards. The other senior disciples’ faces changed drastically.
Ye Qingwu was exceptionally strong and was qualified to contend for the top spot on the Celestial Ranking. They truly didn’t dare to fight her.
"Sigh, forget it. It’s just Wan Jianfei’s bad luck. The whole Spirit Vein shook for a moment, and he must have been struck by a Demon Beast. You can’t blame anyone else."
They no longer suspected Lin Xuan. However, they didn’t linger and prepared to head back to report the news to the Star Pavilion. After all, the death of a disciple was a major event.
"Lin Xuan, you shouldn’t stay here either. Come back with me," Ye Qingwu said.
Lin Xuan nodded and followed Ye Qingwu back.
Upon returning to the Heavenly Dao Academy, Lin Xuan immediately went into seclusion to cultivate. First, he would adjust his condition to its peak, then prepare to refine the Dragon Blood Pill.
Lin Xuan had not yet mastered Spiritual Fire, so he couldn’t perform alchemy in his own courtyard. He had to go to the academy’s Alchemy Rooms. So, Lin Xuan made his way to an Alchemy Room.
With his status, he easily secured a top-quality Alchemy Room. The huge stone door closed shut, ensuring no one could disturb him. The floor of the room was riddled with holes from which flames flickered; this was the Earth Vein Fire.
Lin Xuan took out his Alchemy Furnace and placed it on the ground. Then, he entered the Great Emperor Ring.
The space inside the ring was incredibly vast. As soon as he entered, he saw a gigantic vine lying on the ground. This vine was a full three meters long. From a distance, it looked just like a blood-red giant python. On closer inspection, however, some differences became apparent. For instance, its surface was covered not in snake scales, but in dragon patterns.
Such a large Dragon Blood Vine... It should be able to produce quite a few Dragon Blood Pills, right? Lin Xuan thought excitedly.
Next, he began to study the Pill Recipe and prepare. In addition to the Dragon Blood Vine, Lin Xuan took out eleven other types of Spirit Medicine. These were all the Medicinal Materials needed to refine the Dragon Blood Pill, and he had asked Bai Qianqian to help him collect them. Now that all the ingredients were gathered, Lin Xuan prepared for his first attempt at alchemy.
He cut off a piece of the Dragon Blood Vine to use as a Spirit Medicine, then stepped out of the Great Emperor Ring.
He threw all the Medicinal Materials into the Alchemy Furnace and activated the Earth Vein Fire. Flames danced, enveloping the ingredients. Lin Xuan executed his Heaven-Burning Fire technique to refine them into a medicinal liquid, which he then began to fuse and temper. The liquid coalesced into the prototype of an Elixir, tumbling continuously in the flames. But just then, a bubble suddenly appeared on its surface. The bubble burst, and the entire medicinal liquid exploded.
Lin Xuan’s expression changed at the sight. He was stunned for a moment before giving a wry smile. A failure.
"Again."
He cut another piece of the Dragon Blood Vine and started the process once more. But it wasn’t long before another BOOM echoed from within the Alchemy Furnace. The second attempt at alchemy had failed.
Is it really this difficult? Lin Xuan frowned slightly.
The big black dog explained, "This is perfectly normal. The Dragon Blood Pill is extremely difficult to refine. The reason is that the power contained within the Dragon Blood Vine is incredibly domineering and can easily destroy all the other Medicinal Materials. Fortunately, you got a lot of Dragon Blood Vine this time, so you can afford to fail many times."
Lin Xuan nodded and continued his efforts.
One day passed, then two, then three. Five days went by in a flash.
On this day, inside Lin Xuan’s Alchemy Room, the Alchemy Furnace flickered nonstop. Lin Xuan’s face was pale, his expression incredibly serious. He stared intently at the scene within the furnace. Amidst the flames, the prototype of an Elixir was spinning slowly. The prototype gradually solidified, finally forming into a true Elixir.
With a wave of his hand, Lin Xuan opened the lid of the Alchemy Furnace. The Elixir flew out and landed before him.
"I did it! I finally did it! That was not easy at all." 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Lin Xuan threw his head back and laughed with joy. In the past five days, he had tried dozens of times, and every single one had ended in failure. The Dragon Blood Vine was almost completely used up. This was his very last attempt, and he had finally succeeded
