Taming the Hybrid Mate: Desired by Five Alphas-Chapter 245: An unwanted blast from the past
Zade’s POV
She said it so dismissively, I wanted to strangle her.
Although I hated Landon for everything he did and how he played a part in causing whatever happened between Andria and me, I can’t forget that the first orchestrator was standing in front of me, feigning ignorance.
"What did he say? As far as I remember, the last time he broke up with me, not the other way round.
He was the one who hurt me and not the other way round," she said, staring me in the eyes, her eyes almost watering in pretentious tears.
"Why do you act like you don’t know everything you had done that must have caused what happened between you two?" I asked, shaking my head in disbelief.
"You are so mean, Lena. We shouldn’t even be having this conversation, given all you did to me. Meanwhile, you have not yet answered my question. Why are you at my place, Lena?"
She shrugged. "There’s an interview tomorrow for intending students, and I’d love to be a student here. I can’t get any scholarships, but I can pass an interview at least," she said proudly.
For Ari to be at Ashwood without an interview, which I know her parents won’t permit, then she must have gotten a scholarship just like I did.
Andria was more intelligent than Lena; it was self-evident. But Lena humiliated Andria at every opportunity she got, to drown Andria’s confidence that she was better than her.
"After tomorrow, you are leaving my apartment. This is not a lady’s dorm. Do you understand?"
"I understand, Daddy," she said sarcastically, slowly but loudly, biting her lips and rolling her eyes at me.
"Tell me, Zade. What did I do? Why are you being so strict with me?" She asked, pouting.
"Stop pretending, Lena. And it’s better we don’t talk about what you did. I hate the fact that you even showed up at my doorstep today of all days," I said, raising my voice higher for her to hear in case she was deaf.
"Honestly, I don’t know why you are being too difficult. We were friends even before I started hanging out with Landon, so what now?" She murmured loudly, ending the statement with a hiss.
"You fail to understand that your breaking up with Landon isn’t the reason for my anger towards you," I yelled.
"Then what is it? Why are you acting up, Landon? And why are you yelling at me?" She yelled back at me.
I knew Lena was an entitled brat, but I never knew her to be such an actress and a liar.
She was literally standing in front of me and acting like every other one is the villain, and she was the victim, precisely what I thought Andria was.
"You lied about Andria. You set her up with that male student.
You plotted that with Landon to set her up, and Landon feigned ignorance, while we beat up that innocent child. You both bullied him into the act, just for what?...so that you could deal with Andria.
What did Andria ever do to you except being your elder sister? She always spoke well of you, hoping someday you would love her half as much as she loved.
But every day you treated her worse, you tried as much as possible to tarnish her image. Tell me..." I said, stepping closer.
With each step I took closer, she stepped backwards, her eyes filled with fear but no remorse.
"What?.." she asked, trembling.
"Are you happy now? What have I ever done to you? I loved Andria, and now I don’t know where she is. You don’t even know where she is. You have maltreated her into oblivion. You can’t be my friend, just do whatever you came here for, just because of the love I have for Andria, and get the hell out of my house tomorrow. Am I clear?" I said, walking back to my room, not bothering to help her with her luggage. She could sleep in my sitting room with her luggage close to her for all I care.
"Yes...yes," she stuttered. "But...but..."
"But what?" I yelled, not bothering to turn around, her presence suffocating and irritating me at the moment.
If not for the fact that I always knew Andria to be fond of Lena, even though Lena mishandled her, she wouldn’t be in my space right now.
"Landon lied to you. He lied to you because we had a fallout. He is trying to make us enemies, can’t you see? I didn’t set Andria up.
Landon showed me a video of Andria and the male student in the restroom, and I was pissed because I didn’t understand why she could be doing such a thing to..."
"Shut the hell up, Lena. I don’t want to hear from you again.
One more word from you, and you would be sleeping outside this house, you good-for-nothing liar," I yelled at her, storming into my room and clicking the door shut behind me.
I didn’t dare get out of my room. I could hear the sound from my television; it was the only sound in the house now, and it was somehow soothing to the chaos in my head.
I stared at my phone blankly, my mind telling me to call Andria and check up on her, to tell her to be careful about her appearance, since her evil sister was going to resume at Ashwood next session.
But I couldn’t, not after what happened today. I’m not sure she would pick up, and I wasn’t sure of how she would feel if she asked me where Lena was and I told her that I was housing her.
I could lie, but what if she finds out? It’s going to be much worse; lying doesn’t make me a better mate.
But somehow, I have to let her know.
I summoned the courage, picked up my phone, and dialed her. She picked up the second ring, just before I gave up calling her.
"Hello, Aria. It’s Zade," I stammered.
"I know it’s Zade. Why did you call?" She asked, her voice strict and unwavering.
