Taming the Hybrid Mate: Desired by Five Alphas-Chapter 130: You are just like her
Andria’s POV
That can’t be true," he muttered under his breath.
I swiftly followed his eyes to my neck. And there was the necklace he gave me for my sixteenth birthday, before we fell out, side by side with the charm necklace.
I swiftly hid the necklace in my shirt and stared up at him, hoping that he wouldn’t start a weird conversation. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"Why are you looking at me that way?" I asked, feigning ignorance.
"That pendant is so similar to a gift I had given some she-wolf," he said quietly, nodding towards my neck.
"It’s a gift from my dad, unfortunately," I replied to him.
"Right," he said, smirking faintly. "Then why did you hide it? Did you steal it from a poor she-wolf?"
How dare he refer to Andria as poor? He must have seen Andria as very pathetic. Unfortunately, I’m Aria now, and he isn’t ever going to have a chance at me.
"Steal? You think I would steal?" I retorted, shooting him a glare.
That wiped the smirk off his face. His eyes softened, but only for a second. "Then why did you hide it? That was suspicious"
I swallowed hard. "It’s a gift. Besides, I didn’t like the way you were studying my neck."
He stepped closer again. Too close. I could feel the heat radiating off his body, the scent of his hair and skin got to me, reminding me of the times when he was the only male being I wanted, a time when he stood by me and for me.
"You know that was a flimsy excuse for such a reaction?" he said, steadying his gaze at me, without even blinking.
For a moment, there was an excruciating silence between us. "You are so similar to her," Zade muttered under his breath.
"Similar to who?" I asked, feigning ignorance. He must not know, he must not find out. If I leave now, it will be more suspicious and might prompt him to start some research about me.
I didn’t want that to happen; therefore, I had to go with the flow for now.
"Can I trust you with this?" he blurted out of nowhere.
I didn’t know whether to encourage him or decline this sudden request. "What is that about?"
He stepped closer, meeting my gaze, and for a moment, I saw it inside again, that look he gave me that made me get lost in him.
My heart skipped a bit. "No, Ari, don’t get lost in him again. Remember the hurtful words he said to you," I mentally screamed.
"You look like my ex. I loved her so much, although everything that had happened between us is in the past now, but I can’t help being drawn to you, not just because of the mate bond, but because you look like her."
"What happened between you two?" I persisted, a part of me wanting to know his side of the story, since he didn’t want to disclose it to me as Andria.
"It’s a long story that I wish to forget," he said, trying to touch my hair. His words snapped me back to reality.
I jerked away, my breath sharp. "Don’t touch me."
His expression darkened. "I’m your mate," he said, his voice cold and commanding, causing a cold shiver to run down my spine.
The audacity. If only he knew I was Andria. "And I don’t want you," I blurted before I could stop myself.
He flinched slightly, though he tried to hide it. "You are the first she-wolf to reject me, but I know you would come around."
"You really think this is a joke? You really think that I’m playing hard to get?" I chuckled loudly. Zade is such a clown, very arrogant as always.
"Well, you should go pick one of those she-wolves that will worship the ground you step on, because I’m not one of them," I retorted, my eyes blazing hot.
"Really? But I hear your heart beat fast even now, I smell your scent sometimes when I’m close enough. You deceive yourself, Ari. Your wolf wouldn’t be able to take you rejecting any of your mates," he retorted, closing the gap between us.
Giving off that aura that is usually used to intimidate me. But I stood my ground, matching his gaze; he must not know how much he gets to me.
But deep inside me, I wished I had never met Zade before Ashwood; maybe we could have bonded. But the scar he had already given me was unbearable.
"Try me," I stated
He took another step forward, lowering his voice. "You think because you’re surrounded by those three- Aven, Damon, Tristan, you can ignore what’s between us?"
I froze. He had said their names with disdain, as if they were some disease, jealousy wrapping itself around his very essence.
"Jealous?" I asked sharply.
"I’ve seen how they look at you. How they stand too close, You think I don’t notice?" His tone was rough now, edged with barely restrained anger. "You’re mine, Aria."
I let out a hollow laugh. "I’m no one’s except who I want, and for now it’s not you."
"You are mine, because your body says so," he said, looking me up, his lips curving into a cunning smile.
My heartbeat became erratic, and heat rushed to my core. Athena couldn’t contain herself from excitement.
I didn’t want this, and yet my body betrays me. I opened my mouth to utter a word, and nothing came out.
We stared at each other, our chests rising up and down, anger and lust tensing the air between us.
"Leave her alone," Aven’s voice growled from behind Zade.
Zade’s expression shifted instantly, his aura tightening like coiled steel. He turned around, and his eyes met Aven.
"Interesting," Damon said with a smirk, crossing his arms. "You know I overheard some bits of this conversation between you two, and it seems like you bother her."
"What makes you feel like she wants any of you either?" Zade retorted, his voice fueled with rage.
Tristan’s gaze flicked to me briefly, then back to Zade. His silence was heavy, protective, dangerous.
