Talisman Reincarnation - All My Clones Are Dao Ancestors-Chapter 50: Courtyard Outline
Qian Ziling smiled at Fu Xian and asked him "What do you have in mind? We have several types of courtyards, and I can just create a new blueprint on the spot."
Fu Xian didn’t hesitate to tell her about his wishes "I would like to create a orchard-like courtyard with several pavilions all around. Is that possible?"
Ziling thought for a moment before she waved her hand.
Behind her was a wall full of scrolls. Five scrolls flew in front of her, opening up. She looked at them before putting three away, finally leaving two in front.
"This here is a common orchard courtyard," she said, pointing to one of the scrolls while talking to Fu Xian "it’s been used a few times. Puyan here also created a courtyard based on this blueprint."
Fu Xian saw a courtyard designed like four fields. Between the fields there was a ’+’ like crossroad. In the very centre, there was a large building with an arch. Its style was similar to that of the construction hall – large, open and majestic.
When Ziling saw him looking at the central building for some time, she smiled and pointed at the other blueprint "We also have this pavilion-like courtyard.
There are five pavilions spread across the whole courtyard, with gardens and pond around them."
Fu Xian looked over and felt that the pavilion in front of him looked a lot more like what he wanted. But it was still lacking.
He hesitated for a moment before asking "Is it possible to make a courtyard with these five pavilions, but instead of gardens, there are orchards around them?
Or rather, the whole courtyard is a large orchard and these pavilions are built into the courtyard naturally?"
Ziling thought for a second and took out a new scroll.
She raised her hand and in in instant, a pen appeared.
Moving it across the scroll, she quickly outlined a basic square courtyard... stopping for a moment, she then raised her hand, erasing the drawn courtyard.
With another move, she drew a circular courtyard.
Then with a few more moves, she drew five pavilions: one in the centre, four in the four corners.
Afterward, she started drawing trees all around the courtyard, splitting them into eight areas –
In a + shape but larger, there were four areas. There was a pool in the centre, in which there was an island where the central pavilion was, with small canals flowing out of it to the four regions.
In the four corners, the area between two regions, there were small ponds and empty spaces.
"What do you think of this, junior brother?
These four regions are the main area of the orchard. You can decide whether to plant four different kinds of trees or plant the same all over.
The pool in the centre will be a spiritual spring, while the ponds in the four corners might be used for something else.
As for the rest of the space in the corners, besides the pavilion, there is still some space for a small garden or to plant a few shrubs."
Fu Xian looked at the drawing and felt like it exactly depicted what he wanted.
Then he contemplated ’Five pavilions... the central one should be in the style of a hall. It will become my cultivation room since the spiritual power of the whole courtyard is focused there.
What is left is four pavilions. I need a general-purpose pavilion, a talisman pavilion, an inheritance pavilion ... and lastly a procession pavilion, to process the materials of the orchard.
The inheritance and talisman pavilion have to be adjacent, while the general-purpose pavilion should be far away from the talisman pavilion to avoid disturbance.
In that case, the choice isn’t difficult.’ 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
Fu Xian made a choice and said "The pavilion in the northeast should have a thinner but longer pond in a crescent moon shape outside the pavilion. Between the pond and the pavilion, there should be an open space surrounded by shrubs, with enough space for a table and two chairs.
The pond in the northwest corner should be raised and there should be steps below. This pavilion should be three stories tall and also have a raised entrance. As for the garden between them, there should be a path leading to the pond, but it should be enclosed by trees on both sides.
In the southwest, the pavilion should be enclosed. The garden should be open, with nothing around. Even the pond should be a bit flatter and smaller at the end of the garden, without much presence.
Finally, the southeast should have a layered garden. With two paths on the side, there should be one layer after another in the middle, enough to plant several shrubs and bushes. Here, the pavilion should be a bit larger and have two stories and three cellar stages.
Could we make the pond at the end of the garden into a branch of the main spring?"
Ziling moved her pen across the blue print as she was listening, changing the details on the blueprint.
Sometimes she paused in thought before making another move, seemingly extremely concentrated about everything she did.
Looking at her working, Fu Xian felt like he was watching a master at their craft.
Finally, when she heard his question, she nodded and turned the scroll.
On the other side of the scroll, surprisingly, there was the outline of the courtyard!
She drew a line between the pool in the centre and the pond in the southeast.
Turning it back around, she asked Fu Xian "Is this the way you want to make it?"
Fu Xian nodded "Yes! Is it possible to built it like this? Aren’t my requirements a bit too much?"
Ziling smiled "Well these wishes are more than the common blueprint of courtyards and usually require more funding than the allocated fund given by the immortal city...
But we can always request more. Don’t worry, this is fine.
Just tell me, what kind of trees do you plan to plant here?
The formation placed might change based on the kind of tree."
