Talisman Reincarnation - All My Clones Are Dao Ancestors-Chapter 41: Bone Gu
The chief breathed a sigh of relief once he saw the three jars closed.
He moved away while taking the remaining boxes away.
But just as he turned around, suddenly-
*crack*
He heard a sound.
Barely had he turned a few degrees when he suddenly felt something from behind.
Instantly, he felt something.
It was like a tiny needle piercing his body.
Not even a second after, he saw what had pierced his body!
It was a worm, piercing right through his heart to the other end of his body.
Right at this moment another *swish* sound spread throughout the room!
With no time to react, not even to scream, suddenly, the chief’s belly was cut open!
His organs reached out towards the ground. Below, a little black mantis was looking eagerly at the shining organs.
These two weren’t the end. Although slower, finally, a centipede rushed forward and bit down his arm.
It was a slow painful bite trying to eat him alive!
"Wh-" the chief wanted to exclaim, his shock written all over his face.
How is this possible? Why did they escape? He had clearly closed the jars... even then, they should be afraid and not act so swiftly...
Unfortunately, he couldn’t continue his thoughts.
Another *swish* sounded and his head was instantly burst open.
The human brain was a great delicacy for every Gu. It contained the most essential wisdom of humans.
These several actions finally resulted in the chief dying with no way to respond...
...
"Those two-" the chief was complaining about the two good-for-nothing, seemingly talking out his mind at this moment.
But right as he was about to continue, he stopped himself mid-sentence, his face full of shock!
"What’s happening?!" he asked, only to get no answer.
Right now he was still in front of Teigu, taking away the two bags of blood food.
Teigu didn’t move at all, bowing deeply and waiting for the chief to simply take away the two bags, as if afraid a single action would incur his wrath.
The chief was confused but took the bags and moved away.
Once he was a distance away, he looked at his trembling hands, his vision blurry.
"What was this?" he asked full of shock, yet there was no answer.
"Wait... is this my intuition? But, it can’t be this strong... or maybe because this is a life-and-death situation, so this vision occurred to me?
But why did it happen?
The jars were clearly closed..." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
Suddenly, he thought of something "Those three are about to reach maturity, at least that’s what I’m thinking.
But what if they already reached maturity and only needed a last step to truly take the stage?
In that case, the ritual I put on them isn’t enough.
Not only are the jars too weak to hold them, but even the binding force to me is too low.
Hmph, those three rats, I will show you why we, humans, are better!"
His thoughts whirred and he decided to move to the hall as usual.
Like before, he commanded the warrior and entered the underground.
But this time he didn’t instantly open the jars. Instead, he went to a side and opened various smaller boxes containing different materials.
Then he went to the jars and re-drew the runes and symbols around them. In the end, he even tried to enhance them slightly, pushing his talents to the limit.
"With this, even if they want to break out, they will be delayed for a bit."
Even though he said this, he knew this wasn’t enough.
He first opened the left jar like before.
As the mantis jumped out, it suddenly felt a bit sluggish, as if the force it could easily break before had become a bit harder.
Although the mantis was suspicious, its low intelligence didn’t allow it to properly analyse what was happening, still thinking of its plan.
Seemingly seeing through this, the chief smiled at it and with his other hand, he tried to close off the mantis!
A few sounded left the mantis, but the still effective binding force allowed the chief to force it to stand still.
Then the chief performed the ritual in this state. With the mantis closed off from the world, it was a lot easier to perform the ritual.
Only a few moments passed as purple-black particles formed on the surface of the chief’s hand.
He coughed slightly but a smile was evident on his lips.
Finally he put the mantis back into the jar, together with its respective blood food, the organs.
He moved from the left jar to the right and performed a similar ritual. This time, it was easier, since the centipede was still rather loyal, at least on the surface.
But once the ritual was performed, it, too, lost consciousness.
The chief looked at the middle jar but then decided not to open it.
His power was low and a ritual might not be effective against this worm.
He imply scoffed before turning around. His hands were constantly moving in his sleeves, preparing for an attack...
But the attack never came.
So instead, the chief simply moved to the many smaller jars on the side.
Inside of each jar was a Human Birthing Corpse Gu.
As the name said, it was a Gu birthed in a human body. Its main requirement being corpse energy, so most humans actually couldn’t birth it even if they were infected.
But through the plan laid out by the chief, he had actually grown dozens of these!
Right as he opened one, suddenly, a screeching sound resounded throughout the hall!
This sound seemed to resonate and in an instant, dozens of screeches sounded throughout the hall!
The jars opened up one after another and Gu in the shape of moths!
They instantly flied into the sky and rushed towards the chief!
Since his focus was still on the three jars in the back, he couldn’t react to this frontal attack led by these lower and weaker Gu at all!
They all rushed onto his body, and once they touched his skin, they were like fish entering the ocean.
They instantly entered his body and without hesitation, started eating him alive...
