Talentless Extra Of The Legendary Hero Academy-Chapter 94: Alright
Chapter 94: Alright
"You really are fast about this," Ethan muttered.
He was staring at the work getting done on the House land. The wooden structure had been taken down, and a stone foundation was being laid.
Severin nodded.
It had been three days since their journey into the cursed land and their return. The Academy had not yet received another shock when all of them returned alive without a single hair out of place.
Severin hadn’t wasted time as he immediately went to sell the goods. At first, the merchants were wary about the tree monsters until he gave them a sample to check overnight.
The next day, the merchant had personally come to visit him in his dorm, rubbing his hands and smiling cheerfully. "You’ve not contacted any other merchant, right?"
So he sold the dead tree monsters that were on the land as well as the dead dark cloak. Unlike the tree monsters, the dark cloaks didn’t make as much money, but they were still profitable.
"There is no time to waste."
Building in this world isn’t a simple matter compared to where Severin came from.
Here, buildings must be made with security in mind.
So they had to employ a formation master.
Those who are proficient in the laying of formations, in writing runes.
Each foundation stone was set with runes engraved on them, and Severin had to use his blood to imprint each of them so that when the house was finally done, all the formations would be keyed to him.
And not only that, formation masters are responsible for creating channels for the central power to flow through the rest of the House.
They are like electricians in that aspect.
The other part was the Academy administration. They sent someone over to work with the formation master so that they could carve a tiny portion of the system into the building.
It would be like a business email but with more power, like directly controlling things if he wasn’t there.
Again and again, Severin was left surprised by the marvels of his new world. He read everything in the book, but it was another thing to see it with his own eyes.
Almost everything is powered by Etherion.
"Huh? Isn’t that four eyes?"
Julius was with the Academy administration, speaking quietly with the man.
"He said he wanted to learn more about the administration work and the House protocol to the Academy."
"Oh," was all Ethan said.
"What do you want?" Severin wanted to know since he had already given everyone the week off together with fifty thousand gold coins each.
About fifty dollars in his world’s currency.
They made twenty-five million gold coins from the cursed land.
Severin hadn’t sold the Etherion stones yet; he was going to use them as a backing for the House.
Ethan shrugged. "We are thinking of hiring an instructor and buying some techniques."
"Oh?" Severin smiled faintly.
He was glad that his team was interested in actually getting better.
But.
"Not now. You should wait a bit. I’m going to get an instructor to be a patron of the House."
Ethan sucked in a sharp breath. "Wait, what?"
Patron?
All the Houses have patrons, instructors who are exclusive to that certain House and will instruct them without the members paying extra.
Of course, the House leader will keep compensating such an instructor.
Severin had thought about it, and he knew his knowledge might be broad but limited in narrowing down the specifics that his House members needed.
What they need is someone who will give them continuous monitoring.
And besides, Severin had been having a weird feeling before he went to the cursed land, and it had only intensified when he returned. Something strange might be happening soon.
"Yes. It’s time our House had something like that."
Ethan grinned. "Severin, how about this? I want to officially join your House. I’m already benefiting from it; let’s make it official."
Severin paused, and he did a quick calculation. "Your blackmail situation. I promise you that if you don’t mess up against me, then I will have no reason to fight you."
Ethan smiled warily. "I know. I also hope we don’t fight for the same interest but from different boats."
They shook on it.
"Once we have a patron, more members will want to join, if only to reap the benefits of the instructor," Ethan said.
Severin nodded. "That can’t be helped, but my recruitment won’t be like the others. I don’t need to fill up the House if two of its members can’t take someone like you on, Ethan."
"Quality over quantity," Ethan nodded in satisfaction. "But which instructor are you hoping to hook?"
Severin frowned once again because he didn’t know their name. "Well, I know he’s male, a drunkard, and came from the battlefield, not because he was old but because he was too violent. I can’t remember his name though."
Ethan frowned as well. "An instructor like that?"
Suddenly, he stiffened as he whirled on Severin. "You mean the mad dog Ardent? What the fuck! That’s who you want as patron of your House?"
Severin nodded. He didn’t know his name; in the book, he knew there was an instructor like that, but Lucas Dawn only met him at the end of his Academy life where they shared a drink, and Ardent told Lucas that he had nothing to teach him but could have made him more powerful than he currently was if he had been teaching him since year one.
"You must be crazy, Severin! That instructor has broken and nearly killed a lot of students, and that’s why he doesn’t teach much these days. He’s also a drunkard, and anyone who goes to him for instruction only ends up robbed with a beating. He’s the worst of the worst!"
Severin nodded. "Right. That’s him, alright."
Ethan took a deep breath and rubbed his face. "Okay, tell me when you’ll be going so the whole team will go along with you. We also need to buy a lot of healing potions for it."
Severin nodded. "Alright."
Ethan sighed again. "You won’t tell us."
Another nod. "You’re right."
