Chapter 141: not a fan of spider I

"Neither am I, but my master made me think way reborn through pain. I became something more. Something strong!" Her voice came out in a near whisper.

"Tell me, boy, how do you escape that place? Nobody has ever managed to escape until now! How did you do it?"

Severin watched her silently and then he shrugged. "Does it matter? I am here."

Even as he spoke, Severin was cautious about her. He watched her like a hunter and he didn’t rush to do anything. First, he really didn’t know how powerful she was and how powerful he was.

Back in Sector Delta, he used the fake ’Grace’ to seal most of the power of the Pain Inside him since it could damage his body. His body simply couldn’t catch up to its full power.

So at that moment, Severin didn’t know how powerful he was as well. He was taking a gamble by going there, but he must, because he was now against time.

Darius Faulkner would get involved and since Severin really didn’t know much of the situation in the outside world, his first thing was to gain information.

And he knew just where to get one.

They faced each other. One in a web and the other standing there holding a sword.

Teresa laughed crazily. "I am glad you are here, boy. I also need answers and I am the first Master to get their hands on you. I can’t wait to pull it over the heads of the others."

Just as she finished saying that, her back bulged and squirmed. The flesh shuddered as if something was about to burst out of her back.

Then her back did burst and two bone spikes covered in green liquid grew out.

The spikes shot forward like spears, covered in acid that would melt the flesh out of a bone.

Severin didn’t run from it. He leaped forward and then at the last minute, he slid on the ground, the two spikes passing above his head as he twisted. Then he jumped between the narrow gap of the two bones and threw himself at her.

All of this was done with a speed he wasn’t able to achieve before. ’....at least I’ve gotten faster...’

His raven cloak seemed to hang in the air for a moment before he slammed into her.

He used the momentum of his jump to push against the sword as he slammed into her.

Clang!

But unexpectedly, his whole body shuddered as his sword struck her. It was like hitting metal with a dull blade.

He jumped back in time as her clawed hands swiped at where he was.

She grunted as she controlled the spikes around, trying her best to pin him to the ground with it, but Severin was like an eel in water. He twisted away at the last moment, dodging the spikes with inches of space.

Suddenly he jumped back several paces. "I really don’t have time for this."

"Of course you don’t. Because you won’t be able to hit me! My body is made of twisted pain. My master gave me this impenetrable body in exchange for my loyalty."

Behind his mask, Severin frowned. "So I can use this thing like that, eh."

He froze and then he reached inward. He drew the power of Pain outside.

Immediately his body shuddered as deep red light that throbbed spilled into the air around him. Then, like a hungry beast, the light dug into his body, crawling beneath and over his skin and hardening his flesh.

His mouth twisted as pain flooded into his body, slicing into his every nerve and heating his blood.

Unlike before, the pain was minimal when he was fighting in the mind and it was another thing entirely using it physically.

Severin hadn’t been in so much pain before.

Even his heart was heavy with pain.

He shivered and trembled as he stood alone. ’...this isn’t even the full power...it’s not even half...and this kind of pain was inflicted on my host? What the fuck...!’

"What are you doing? Wait...that energy! It’s familiar!" Teresa shouted.

Her voice was like a cold knife and it was able to make Severin concentrate a little. He took a deep breath and even with the mask on, his face shone with red light.

He took a step forward...and disappeared?

Severin appeared above her and his sword came down like a blacksmith’s hammer.

"You fool! I told you, your sword is useless against me!" Her spikes lashed upward.

As his sword came down, the red light on his body also covered it, soaking it in bright red.

Bang!

His sword slammed into the first spike...and cut it smoothly.

Teresa howled immediately.

Not only for the unexpected cut but from the pain that exploded on the body with the contact of the sword. The shock of the pain instantly made her flinch and draw back her attack.

But Severin was already on her and he leaped forward.

She reacted instinctively as she sent her remaining spike at him, but he cut them all.

He stood on a thin web in front of her as she retreated from him.

She groaned, in too much pain to do anything as she moved backwards, her back dripping with corrosive green blood.

"What are you? What are you!"

The red cross on Severin’s eyes grew brighter and a hazy red wave rose from her and flowed into him. Severin was absorbing her pain, eating it.

The red that was the brightest red in the world is the pain energy that he could manipulate.

"This...this is just like Master’s power! How did someone like you get his filthy hands on it? A talent Ability? No, you were a worthless trash when you left...!!"

"Don’t tell me...the seed! Of course not! You’re not that...."

She stopped talking immediately. "You bastard!"

Severin grinned, although it sounded wrong and twisted. "I can’t count how many people called me that."

But then she stopped moving immediately. "This power. I...I must have it! Yes, I will take it and keep it for Master."

Severin snorted. "Or just say you want it for yourself."
