After Alex recovered the memories of his past life, he understood that the universe was far more complicated than what he had seen in the Essence Sky World.

The Essence Sky World was located inside a sealed galaxy. Because the galaxy was sealed, it was isolated from the true flow of the universe. Many things that existed outside had never reached it.

One of those things was technology.

In the Essence Sky World, cultivation was everything. Strength came from spiritual energy, bloodlines, physiques, and World Laws. There was almost no trace of machinery or advanced tools.

Yes, there were flying ships, but they were not operated by technology. Instead, they functioned through formations, which were powered by spirit stones, spiritual crystals, and various energy cores.

At that time, Alex thought this was how the entire universe worked. Now he knew how wrong he had been.

The universe was vast beyond imagination.

Countless races lived in it, each with their own path of evolution.

The Human Race, even though often looked down upon by many powerful races, was still considered one of the top races in the universe. Humans had terrifying adaptability, strong willpower, and endless creativity. However, the truth that cannot be denied is that humans did not create technology from nothing. Technology did not originate from the Human Race.

Technology originally came from the Mechanical Race.

The Mechanical Race was a race born with an innate connection to machinery, energy circuits, and artificial structures. They were not flesh-and-blood beings like humans. Their bodies were formed from special metals, energy cores, and mechanical structures that were more refined than any artifact humans could forge.

For them, machines were not tools. Machines were their bodies, their blood, and their very existence. They could think, evolve, and cultivate in a way completely different from all other races. Their understanding of structure, energy flow, and creation was on a level that no organic race could naturally reach.

They were the true creators of technology.

Humans only learned from them.

When humans first came into contact with the Mechanical Race, they were shocked by what they saw. Flying warships, energy cannons, automated formations, intelligent puppets, and countless strange devices that could replace or support cultivation methods. Humans did not understand how to build such things at first. They could only imitate them slowly, step by step. Over time, humans combined technology with cultivation. They used formation principles, runes, spiritual stones, and refined metals to recreate simplified versions of Mechanical Race technology.

Thus, human technology was born.

But it was always an imitation.

Even now, in terms of machinery, artificial creation, and technological systems, the Mechanical Race still stood at the peak. No race could surpass them in this field. Humans were good at adapting. They modified technology to suit cultivation. They created tools that could assist alchemy, forging, formation building, and even body enhancement. But at its core, the foundation still came from the Mechanical Race.

And humans were not the only ones who used this technology.

Almost all races in the universe had adapted it in some way from the Mechanical Race.

Even the Divine Blood Race used technology.

The Divine Blood Race was obsessed with bloodlines, physiques, and life evolution. Their research was cruel and terrifying, but it required extremely precise control and analysis. They needed machines to extract blood essence, analyze ancient bodies, preserve divine blood, and conduct experiments that no living hand could safely perform. So, they also relied on technology that originated from the Mechanical Race.

Now, looking at the research base in front of him, Alex could sense that the structure, the energy fluctuations, and the hidden formations blended with machinery all carried traces of the Mechanical Race's design.

He could sense this because he had once come in contact with a few members of the Mechanical Race. Back then, he was only a little Origin Martial Stage warrior.

This base here was not something an ordinary faction could build. It meant that the people behind this base had access to the core technological knowledge of the universe and were dealing with matters far more dangerous than simple cultivation experiments.

He also understood that this place was deeply connected to blood research.

After all, the aura that attracted his Blood Devouring Abyssal Bloodline and the Abyssal Pearl could only come from something related to blood or life essence.

So, he was determined to get inside this research base and obtain whatever was attracting his two treasures so much.

...

Oliver, Ethan, and a black-clothed warrior from this Research Base charged toward the box that contained all fifty High-level Bloodline Nourishing Liquids.

"Back off. This belongs to the Heavenly Blood Pavilion," the black-clothed man said coldly.

With a swift motion of his wrist, he produced two blue light balls and immediately threw them at Oliver and Ethan.

BOOM!

The next instant, the two light balls exploded into several tiny arcs of light that shot towards Oliver and Ethan like deadly beams.

Oliver remained completely calm and immediately activated his special physique, the Extreme Golden Armor Body. A faint metallic sheen spread across his skin. Golden light wrapped around his arms and right leg, while phantom armor images shimmered over the rest of his body. At the same time, he used the Phantom Movement Technique.

With each step he took, two lifelike afterimages were left behind. The light arcs pierced through those afterimages, missing his real body.

However, two arcs of light still struck Oliver directly.

Bang! Bang!

Although two arcs of light struck Oliver, they were stopped by the illusory golden armor on his body.

Aside from the powerful impact that slightly slowed his movement, the attacks caused him no real harm. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

Ethan also failed to evade every shot. One of the arcs of light struck him directly.

Yet, at the instant of impact, a layer of blood-red armor burst forth from his body, wrapping around him like living metal. The arc of light slammed into it and was completely blocked.

The black-clothed warrior's expression changed sharply. Shock filled his eyes. He had never imagined that both Oliver and Ethan could withstand energy weapons using their own bodies alone.

But he was already too late.
