System Awakening Era: I Have 10x Skill Effects-Chapter 22: A Deadly Attack from Darkness
The three survivors looked at each other, then nodded at the same time. The woman informed Aamon of the likely location of the raiders’ base, a bit far from their apartment.
"After you pass the supermarket, keep going south and turn right. There are a lot of raider survivors there," the woman said firmly.
Aamon nodded. Her brief description was more than enough for him. He could already determine their location.
"How many?"
"Around fifteen to twenty," the woman replied.
More than I expected.
He put away his sword, walked over to his motorcycle, and started the engine. It roared to life, ready to go. It was the fastest way for Aamon to get there.
"Do you need our help?"
"No," Aamon said as he sat on the bike. "You’ll just slow me down."
"Oh... alright."
The gate opened, and Aamon sped off, leaving the apartment complex behind.
The three of them stayed there, taking turns with Aamon’s role of guarding the place.
They had already seen what Aamon was capable of, but fighting survivors was clearly different from fighting monsters. It was far more difficult and dangerous.
Still, they had no other hope. Aamon was their only option to save Mia and the others.
The woman went back into the apartment building to calm Selena, while the two men began carrying out their duty to guard the place.
Elsewhere, Aamon rode swiftly through the city streets, heading toward the suspected base of the raider survivors.
The moonlight wasn’t very bright, but fortunately, his motorcycle’s headlight shined the road ahead.
Night was a dangerous time to travel or explore. Monsters could attack at any moment if he wasn’t careful, and that would be fatal.
He turned at the first intersection, just as the woman had said. Aamon slowed down, his eyes scanning left and right, observing the abandoned buildings lining both sides of the road.
WOSH!
Aamon pulled the brake, stopping instantly. His ears clearly caught the sound of wind splitting as an arrow shot toward him.
The arrow glowed red and was aimed straight at him. He moved quickly, lowering his head and successfully dodging it.
Looks like I’m in the right place.
The arrow pierced the ground. It came from a three-story abandoned building on the right side of the road. Aamon’s attention shifted there.
Even in the darkness, faint moonlight illuminated the place. Their movements were still visible to him.
"I don’t know why you chose to become raiders. But surrender before I kill all of you!" Aamon threatened.
"Did those people from the apartment tell you?" a voice from the darkness asked.
"Yeah."
"If you’re willing to surrender, I’ll spare your lives!"
"HAHAHA!"
"You think you can kill us all by yourself?" they mocked. Their voices echoed, but Aamon couldn’t pinpoint their exact positions.
He stepped off his motorcycle and summoned his sword. "You hide like cockroaches. I’ll just find you myself!"
[Assassin Class: Shadow Stealth]
Aamon vanished from the middle of the street, shocking several raiders who had been watching him.
They panicked, warning each other that the man had disappeared.
"He has an invisibility skill! He’s dangerous!"
Aamon ran swiftly with the help of a movement buff. He entered the three-story building, carefully checking each floor until he reached the rooftop.
On the rooftop, two men dressed in black crouched near the edge, watching the street, trying to locate Aamon.
"Report immediately if you—"
STAB!
Before he could finish speaking, Aamon appeared behind him and drove his sword through him, piercing his low-tier armor and fatally stabbing his stomach.
"Argh!"
The man’s companion was shocked, turning with wide eyes as he saw Aamon standing right beside them.
Now visible, Aamon pulled out his sword and attacked the other man using his regular skill.
[Sword Skill: First Thrust]
Aamon lunged forward, his thrust striking the man, who was holding a bow. Against Aamon, he stood no chance.
Both of them died from blood loss and HP depletion. A system panel appeared before Aamon.

Lucky for Aamon, they had a thermal scope that could detect heat signatures.
He used it and stood at the edge of the rooftop, scanning the entire area.
Aside from them, there were three others guarding the place. Two were on the rooftop of a building across the street, and one more was hiding in another building.
"I found you."
Aamon put away the scope, walked down the stairs, and exited the building. He had already locked onto their positions. He immediately ran toward his next target.
Panic spread among the three remaining raiders once they realized their companions in the building across the street were gone and dead.
They tried to run, but Aamon was faster.
He encountered two of them at an emergency staircase as they attempted to escape. Aamon instantly attacked forward while activating his skill.
[Sword Skill: 1000 Sword Movement]
He moved rapidly, slashing their bodies with ten consecutive strikes, triggering small blue explosions in their wounds.
BLAST!
Explosions erupted, mixed with fire and blood. Their injuries worsened, blood pouring out uncontrollably.
Their faces turned pale, fear clearly written across them. Their bodies weakened, unable to continue fighting.

The panel appeared, signaling both raiders had died from blood loss and HP depletion.
There was nothing valuable in their inventory, so Aamon only took their Contribution Points and Coins. He also gained 10% EXP from their combined total.
Aamon walked to a window, took out the thermal scope again, and checked the last raider’s location.
Surprisingly, that person didn’t stay in the building. He was running east, trying to escape death.
Aamon had no intention of killing him. The raider would lead him straight to their base.
"Good. Run and show me where you live."
He walked down the stairs and left the building. Through the thermal scope, Aamon saw the man run into an alley between two buildings.
Aamon left his motorcycle behind and entered the alley. Looking through the scope again, he saw many heat signatures scattered ahead.
He entered one of the buildings, climbed to the rooftop, and focused his gaze on a two-story house with a wide yard.
So that’s their base.
A group of people walked out, seven in total. They ran quickly, gripping their weapons, using flashlights to light their path.
Aamon stayed hidden, then moved once the situation was clear. He stepped from one shadow to another, blending into the darkness.
Now, he was very close to the raiders’ base.
Two men guarded the front gate, holding swords, alert.
[Assassin Class: Shadow Stealth]
Aamon used his assassin skill again, moving in stealth with swift steps. His goal was simple: kill the two guards and enter their base.
They suspected nothing, until Aamon’s attack shocked them into panic.
His sword pierced one man’s neck from behind, a fatal wound that left him convulsing on the ground.
The other guard saw his friend die and immediately attacked Aamon.
Even so, Aamon was far superior. He dodged the man’s attacks and exploited every opening to counter.
The fight lasted two minutes before the man died from stab wounds, blood pouring out heavily.

Aamon’s attention shifted inside the compound. He opened the gate and stepped in carefully.
Right now, he was standing in enemy territory that could kill him at any moment.
I’ve reached the raiders’ base. I need to find Mia and save them before it’s too late!
