Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 6: No Quarter
Julian Sinclair froze, as the words ’abandon’ cut like a sharp dagger, looming over his heart. He could never guarantee when this dagger might descend, just as he couldn’t guarantee he wouldn’t abandon her.
A sudden pang of pain struck Julian Sinclair’s heart. He frowned, reaching out to cradle Moira Young’s head buried in his chest.
Last night, Butler Liu investigated Moira Young’s fight at school and checked the surveillance footage.
That was when Julian Sinclair realized Moira Young had grown up.
Her world began to differentiate between genders and included emotions beyond family ties. She saw herself blushing at that boy named Heath Sterling, and she even allowed
other boys to hug her.
This was one of Julian Sinclair’s main reasons for his anger, though he was unwilling to admit it.
So, he changed direction.
"Moira Young, next time you get in a fight, remember to use a firm hand," Julian Sinclair suddenly said.
Moira Young stood there dumbfounded, raising her head without understanding.
"Whenever someone bullies you, you must retaliate and leave them with no chance, without holding back."
Julian Sinclair’s serious gaze imprinted in Moira Young’s eyes. Her big, bright eyes had been lively since childhood, and grew more enchanting as she matured. A flicker passed through Julian Sinclair’s heart, almost causing him to spark with electricity.
"You can bully others, but others absolutely cannot bully you."
"Do you understand?"
The brief, powerful words penetrated Moira Young’s ears, stopping her sobs. She never imagined Julian Sinclair would say such things.
"Uncle, you’re not angry with me?" She looked at him with eager eyes.
"I’m angry because my Moira got bullied."
My Moira, got bullied.
Those eight words were seared into Moira Young’s heart with painful intensity, causing her to tremble, yet she refused to relent.
What she didn’t know was how ironic those eight words would be years later.
"I’m going abroad tonight, remember to carry your phone with you." It was originally yesterday night’s flight, but because of her situation, it was changed to tonight.
Moira Young was long accustomed to Julian Sinclair’s busy life. Still, each time he went abroad, she was terrified there would be thunderstorms.
"Okay, I’ll wait obediently for Uncle to come back." She playfully squirmed a bit.
Julian Sinclair’s body stiffened momentarily. He coughed lightly, feigning nonchalance as he separated from Moira Young, sidestepping past her.
"Let’s go downstairs to eat."
——
School.
Moira Young reached the school gate, spotting Heath Sterling among the crowd who seemed to be looking for someone.
Moira Young instinctively lowered her head, mingling among the students, trying to sneak inside.
"Moira Young!" Heath Sterling’s sharp eyes instantly spotted her. When he called her name, everyone followed his gaze to look.
Many girls cast envious glances, which made Moira Young more embarrassed.
Heath Sterling pushed through the crowd to rush in front of Moira Young. His handsome face shone brightly under the morning sun, never had Moira Young stared at another boy like she did with Julian Sinclair, and now, her heart was about to explode with nerves.
"Are you okay from yesterday? That Director Tyler is just a snob, he—"
"Look at the notice, Director Tyler has been fired!"
"Really? Why was he suddenly fired?"
Heath Sterling’s words were interrupted by another group gossiping about the bulletin board, and Moira Young was first shocked upon hearing the news, clutching her backpack straps, feeling a pang of guilt.
Because she knew that Director Tyler’s dismissal was certainly due to Julian Sinclair’s anger.
Heath Sterling returned excitedly after seeing the notice, "Moira Young, that jerk got fired! We have to celebrate somehow, right?"
"Celebrate?" Moira Young hadn’t considered that this thing would warrant celebration...
"We both suffered under him, we’re in the same boat here. How about I take you to dinner after school tonight?" Heath Sterling said with a bit of embarrassment, but his personality was always straightforward.
"Not saying anything means you agree, you better keep your word!"
Moira Young stared blankly at Heath Sterling’s pretending carefree figure, barely holding back a laugh. This was her first friendship with a boy, stirring small ripples in her heart.
Throughout the monotonous school day, Heath Sterling sent small notes every class to Moira Young, ensuring she wouldn’t forget the evening’s appointment. Moira Young secretly crumpled the notes into little wads and threw them away after class to prevent others from seeing.
Finally, when school ended, Heath Sterling eagerly helped Moira Young pack her things so they could leave together.
They reached the car that came to pick Moira Young up, and the driver got out to open the door for her.
"I’m having dinner tonight before coming back, I’ll call you later."
The driver glanced at Heath Sterling nearby. He had been fetching Moira Young for years and had never seen her leave with a male classmate.
"Miss, does Julian know?" The driver didn’t want that boy taking Moira Young away.
