Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 324: Lending a Hand
If Julian Sinclair doesn’t obediently return to Vesperia, then don’t blame his father for being ruthless, making it impossible for him to stay in the entertainment industry or even all of China.
Because of this issue, Julian Sinclair had a fierce quarrel with his father, almost to the point of severing their father-son relationship.
Moira Young felt more and more distressed as she read, realizing that these days, Julian had been under immense pressure because of her. No wonder his visits to her at the hospital were becoming less frequent.
She had previously complained that all he cared about was work, but only now did she realize how hard things had been for him recently.
Moira Young looked at every word Julian Sinclair replied to his father, all for her sake. Despite his father’s threats to withdraw his business rights in Asia, he refused to back down.
"Silly Uncle." Moira Young felt a sourness at her nose, overwhelmed with emotions in her heart.
While she was happy that Julian could do so much for her, she also felt sorry for him as he was on the brink of losing everything for her sake.
And now, she couldn’t help him at all, leaving him to bear it alone.
As she read through the emails between the two, a cold male voice suddenly pierced her ears: "What are you doing?"
Moira Young was so startled by the voice that she nearly leapt out of her skin, instinctively throwing away the mouse and looking in the direction of the sound.
Julian Sinclair stood before her, his face shrouded in shadows as if enveloped by a black mist.
"Uncle, you... you’re back already?" Moira Young was so frightened that she stumbled over her words.
"I asked you, what are you doing?" Julian Sinclair’s brow furrowed deeply, his tone cold as the winter night wind.
Moira Young waved her hand and quickly explained: "I wasn’t doing anything, I just..."
"Who told you to mess with my computer?" Julian Sinclair’s expression was as dark as a pot.
Seeing his anger, Moira Young felt a bit aggrieved, but thinking of all that Julian had sacrificed for her, she found herself unable to voice any rebuttal.
Facing the furious Julian Sinclair, Moira Young could only lower her head to avoid eye contact with him, fearing she would lose control and start arguing with him.
After all, it was indeed her fault today.
She knew Julian Sinclair hated it when others tampered with his things, but she did it anyway, which was truly wrong.
Just when she thought Julian would continue to harshly question her, his voice suddenly softened: "Did you see everything?"
Moira Young lifted her head, meeting his gaze, her voice as weak as a mosquito’s: "Yes, I saw it all."
"Moira, I’m sorry." Julian Sinclair sighed as he pulled Moira Young into his arms, his large hand tousling her hair, his heart filled with emotion.
"Why apologize?" Moira Young didn’t understand. He had done enough for her; if anyone needed to apologize, it was her.
She had always been a burden to him.
"I’ve always been too arrogant, thinking I could protect you well, but I haven’t." Julian Sinclair’s lips curled into a self-mocking smile. He had been so sure he could always shield Moira Young, keeping her as his little princess, unscathed.
But over the years, Moira Young had been hurt more and more often.
Moira Young leaned against his chest, warm emotions flowing in her clear eyes. She wrapped her slender arms around Julian Sinclair’s athletic waist, softly saying, "Uncle, you’ve been good enough to me, so you don’t have to blame yourself. If it weren’t for you, I might already be a pile of bones."
After a brief pause, she continued: "All my life, you’ve treated me like the apple of your eye, holding me in your hands, so even if you can’t protect me this time, I have no regrets. You’re human, not a god. You don’t have to carry so much weight on your shoulders."
"Silly girl." It was the first time Julian Sinclair had heard such heartfelt words from Moira Young, and his heart was slightly achy.
"Don’t worry, since your father said so, I’ll behave and stay at home, so I won’t cause you any trouble." Moira Young understood the gravity of the situation. The Sinclair family was powerful; if they really wanted to harm her, it wouldn’t be difficult.
She understood her position, so she naturally wouldn’t act impulsively.
Seeing Moira Young being so sensible comforted Julian Sinclair, and he gently kissed her forehead: "Be patient, I’ll resolve this matter soon."
"Hmm, I know." Moira Young replied with a smile.
Because of this unexpected situation, Moira Young’s work was once again put on hold. But through her phone, she kept herself informed of the outside world. After she had mentioned Annie’s situation to Julian Sinclair, suggesting he lend Annie a hand.
Finally, Annie, who had been suppressed for so long, made a comeback, and within just half a month, she received a flood of bookings.
Seeing Annie gradually resurfacing, Moira Young couldn’t help but smile.
And just then, Moira Young received a notice from her university. The school said she had missed too many classes, and if she didn’t return soon, even having Julian Sinclair’s backing wouldn’t assure her a successful graduation.
Moira Young was instantly caught in a dilemma, torn between Julian Sinclair’s instructions and her graduation certificate.
She didn’t want to give up on either side.
She didn’t want to become a burden to Julian Sinclair, but she also couldn’t let her studies fall behind.
"Sigh...."
As Moira Young sighed for the tenth time, Mrs. Miller finally couldn’t help but ask, "Miss, what’s the matter with you?"
Moira Young looked deeply at Mrs. Miller and sighed heavily again: "Sigh..."
"What’s going on? You’ve been sighing all morning. Did something troubling happen?" Mrs. Miller asked with a caring look, wanting to share some of Moira’s burdens.
But Moira Young just shook her head and said slowly, "It’s nothing, Mrs. Miller, don’t worry."
Of course, Mrs. Miller didn’t believe her, and looked seriously at her: "Miss, I watched you grow up. Can’t I tell if something’s wrong? If you’re facing any problems, just say it; maybe I can help?"
Moira Young fell silent. There were some things she couldn’t let Mrs. Miller know. Mrs. Miller wouldn’t be able to help, and telling her would only cause unnecessary worry.
So Moira Young turned her eyes and continued to shake her head in refusal.
This only made Mrs. Miller more worried. She wanted to keep asking, but was afraid Moira Young would get upset.
If Moira Young didn’t want to talk, she must have her reasons, but seeing her sighing like this was making Mrs. Miller anxious.
She suddenly remembered long ago when Moira Young had once asked her about money.
So, a thought flashed in her mind, and she asked, "Miss, are you short on money?"
"No, why would you think that?" Moira Young blinked her eyes. Did she appear like she was short of money?
"Not short on money? Then, is it something to do with work?" Mrs. Miller realized how silly her question was; how could her family’s miss ever be short on cash?
Moira Young pursed her lips and answered after a moment, "It’s not that either."
"Did the young master make you angry?" Mrs. Miller couldn’t figure it out; the young master adored the miss, so it shouldn’t be this either.
Sure enough, Moira Young shook her head: "That’s not it."
