Chapter 322: Chapter 322: Criticism

Annie and Moira Young haven’t seen each other for a long time. Because Annie had spoken a few good words for Moira in front of Vivi before, Moira had a deep impression of her.

"Are you okay?" Moira looked at her worriedly.

Annie shook her head with a smile: "It’s nothing, but how are you? I saw reports that you were in a car accident, are you fully recovered now?"

"Yes, I’m basically fine now, thanks for asking." 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

Annie happened to have something to do as well, so the two of them walked out of the company together. Along the way, Annie was very concerned about Moira’s injuries, making Joe a bit indifferent.

Seizing a moment when Annie was not paying attention, she quietly complained to Moira: "This Annie is such a pretender, right? If she’s really so concerned, why didn’t she visit you in the hospital for two months? So fake."

"Annie isn’t that kind of person." Moira didn’t know why, but she felt Annie didn’t seem like a bad person, and the concern in her eyes didn’t look fake.

Joe, hearing this, couldn’t help but remind: "Moira, you haven’t been in this industry long, you probably don’t know about the fake sisterhood in the entertainment industry, they may show concern on the surface but stab you in the back, you really can’t trust her."

"What are you talking about?" Seeing that Moira and Joe had fallen a few steps behind, whispering with their mouths covered, Annie asked curiously.

Moira slightly raised the corners of her mouth: "Nothing much, just chatting. Annie, where are you headed?"

"I don’t have anything planned, what about you? Do you have time? Do you want to grab dinner together?" Annie casually brushed her bangs, her smile as bright as the June sun.

Moira was about to answer when Joe tugged at her sleeve: "Moira..."

"What’s wrong?"

"Shouldn’t we head home now?" Joe whispered in her ear, "Did you forget what President Sinclair asked? You’re still not fully recovered, so you shouldn’t be out for too long."

"It’s just dinner, it should be fine, right?" Moira stroked her chin, pondering.

Joe shook his head vehemently: "No way, I have to watch over you."

"Isn’t that too cautious?"

Seeing the two arguing endlessly, Annie smiled somewhat awkwardly: "If it’s inconvenient, it’s okay not to go, after all, Moira is now a well-known actress, and it’s indeed a bit troublesome."

"It’s no trouble at all, we’re going for dinner now." Moira raised an eyebrow confidently, grabbed Annie’s hand, and started walking out. As they walked, she turned back and said to Joe, "Joe, you go ahead, I’ll come home later."

"Moira!!" Joe’s face turned white with worry, "President Sinclair told you not to wander around!"

Moira shrugged indifferently, pulling Annie along even faster.

Half an hour later,

The two of them sat down in a Western restaurant and each ordered a plate of spaghetti.

It’s the first time Moira has had dinner alone with another female artist, and she finds it quite refreshing.

"Moira, are you doing well recently?" Annie had already asked her this several times and asked yet again while eating.

"Yes, I’m fine." Moira carefully looked at her a couple of times, feeling that today’s Annie seemed different from before.

Previously, she was proud and confident, calm even in front of Vivi. But now she’s so gentle and cautious, and even when speaking to someone like Moira, she is overly careful.

The way she is now, she indeed looks suspicious.

Ten minutes passed, Moira had finished a third of her pasta, while Annie’s pasta seemed untouched.

Her hesitant expression made Moira rather concerned, but since the other party didn’t want to speak, Moira didn’t know how to ask.

After what seemed like a long while, Annie finally couldn’t hold it back any longer and started to speak hesitantly: "Moira, what do you think of our industry?"

"What do you mean?" Moira lifted her eyelids lightly, not quite understanding what she meant.

"This industry, what do you think of it? Is it good or bad? Or do you have any opinions on this industry?" Annie stopped what she was doing and stared directly into Moira’s eyes.

Moira pondered for a while and said slowly, "Isn’t this question a bit too serious?"

"Is it?"

"Rather than serious, I would say that since I haven’t been in the industry long, my understanding of it is too shallow." Moira didn’t know how to answer because she hadn’t seriously thought about this question before.

With the protection of Julian Sinclair, she seemed never to have to worry about the issues other female artists worry about, as her Uncle would never allow her to suffer any grievances.

Annie’s face briefly showed a lonely smile: "That’s true."

"Annie..." No matter how slow Moira’s reaction was, she noticed the change in Annie’s expression. It seemed like Annie was facing some difficulties.

"Moira, with President Sinclair as your backing, perhaps you will never encounter any unfair situations in your life. Sometimes, I’m really envious of you." As Annie spoke, her eyes gradually filled with tears.

Moira frowned and asked, "Annie, what’s wrong with you?"

"It’s nothing, I’m just thinking maybe I’m really not suitable for this industry, and it’s time to leave." Annie smiled through her tears, her expression filled with sadness. Though she spoke of relief, her eyes were clearly filled with reluctance and helplessness.

Her appearance made it impossible for Moira not to care, and finally, under her persistent questioning, Annie revealed the truth to her.

It turns out Annie hasn’t been doing well lately. Ever since she opposed Vivi for Moira, Vivi had held a grudge, and used her body to curry favor with Boss Warren and other men, applying pressure on Annie in the entertainment circle.

Annie had been suppressed, her fame plummeting, now even worse off than an unknown artist, her situation was truly pitiful.

Only at this moment did Moira understand how dark the entertainment industry could be.

She had thought about it before, but with Julian Sinclair’s protection, she had gradually relaxed and even forgot the depth of the entertainment industry.

After the two separated at the restaurant, Moira took a cab directly home.

As soon as she walked through the door, she saw Julian Sinclair holding a coat, about to leave. She asked curiously, "Uncle, where are you going?"

"Miss, you’re back. The young master was just about to go out to find you." Mrs. Miller, seeing Moira, finally felt relieved.

Julian grabbed Moira, his expression stern: "Where did you go?"

Moira was startled and instinctively replied: "I just, went out for dinner with a friend."

"Didn’t I tell you to come straight home after your errands?" Julian’s eyes flashed with coldness, clearly unhappy about Moira going out on her own.

"I just had dinner, no need to be so harsh, right?" Moira shivered internally, unable to understand why Julian was angry.

Julian frowned, his expression cold: "Do you know how dangerous what you did was? What if something happened?"
